"Sent" and "Trash" mailboxes not syncing across devices

My "In Box" syncs across devices, but the "Sent" and "Trash" boxes do not. How do I ensure that all my mailboxes are syncing across all my devices, so that conversations can move back and forth regardless of which device I am using at the moment?

Photos will not sync across devices in iOS 8.1

I have iOS 8.1.1 on both my iPad and my iPhone 5. After installing the new iOS and selecting 'iCloud Photo Library (Beta)' on both devices, the 'my photo stream' folder has disappeared and photos will not sync across devices. Everything was fine prior to installing the new iOS. Can anyone help me to fix this? Thank you!

If you are using iCloud Photo Library Beta there are some differences from what you may be use to. Please read over the attached article for information on how your pictures are now organized and for how you can turn it off if you choose to do so.

Collections do not sync across devices - bookmarks do ???

Hello. I am trying to sync my books & PDF's between my iPhone 4S & iPad2. Both are running iOS 5.0.1 and all apps are up to date. Both have "sync bookmarks", "sync collections", & "online audio & vidoe" checked. I am using iCloud and both devices are backed up nightly....
I have manually pulled books and PDF's to each device; what is strange is that when I bookmark on one devicee (say the iPhone), the bookmark is recognized almost instantly on the other device (iPad).... BUT, when I add a book or pdf to one device, it doesn't automatically sync to the other device.....??

Let me revise my last post - Books purchased in the library DO sync across devices; items I place in iBooks from email, etc.. do NOT sync.

ICloud Mail not syncing across devices

This issue has been bugging me for many months now and I have not been able to find a solution: I am an iCloud user for email etc, iPhone 4s with iOS7.0 and MBP with OSX10.8.5 and Mail 6.6. There are actually 2 issues which I would like help in resolving:
1. If I happen to notice a new email received on my iPhone and open up that new message using the iPhone, it then does not get downloaded by Mail on my MBP. If however I choose to ignore a new message in my iPhone's inbox and wait until I get home to read it using my MBP, then Mail downloads the unopened message and I can choose to read it using either the iPhone or MBP. However, new mail downloaded on my MBP and which I then open using Mail is also downloaded on my iPhone and marked as read.
2. Sent Mail is not sync'd across the two devices. I can get around this by bcc'ing myself on all sent messages.
I use IMAP and have tried some recommendations I have found on some help sites but to no avail.

Unfortunately, iCloud only pushes new mail. In iOS, it has never pushed the updated status of mail read, moved or flagged on other devices. http://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT203545
You could try switching your iCloud mail to fetch instead of push. I've never tried this, but maybe it will fetch the read status, as per the fetch schedule.

TS3988 iCloud not syncing across devices?

My devices are not syncing in iCloud.
E-mails can be received but not deleted - I have to delete from each device separately.

iCloud does not sync emails. You are interacting directly with your email on the server, so whatever actions you take on one device/computer are actually performed on the server, so are also seen on every other device/computer that connects to the same account on the same server.
Just to confirm, you are referring to emails sent to your @icloud.com (or @me.com / @mac.com) email address, arent you? Not any other external email account?

Messages Not Syncing across devices with iOS 8

Hi all,
Since December 2014 and an update at that time my iMessages stopped syncing correctly.
Some messages sync some don't.
I send from my iPhone5c and it doesn't show up on my iPadAir.
Reply will go to my iPadAir and not to my iPhone5c
If one of my devices is off then no messages will go to it and it won't sync once turned back on.
I have done the: turn off iMessages, quit program, turn off devices. Restart and turn on iMessages again on devices. This hasn't fixed the issue.
My number and emails are all correct on devices. I am logged in on devices. They just adhocly sync.
Any other ideas?

They are received normally for me and everyone I know using 8.3. Are you using WiFi or cellular data? Has these devices ever been hacked/jailbroken, at any time?
If not, try these steps as needed:
Reset: press both home and lock buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Restore to factory settings using iTunes, also restoring a backup
Restore to factory settings as new, without using a backup
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

Calendar not syncing across devices

I just found that my calenders are not syncing acros my iMac, iPad Air and iPhone 5S. Under iCloud on all 3 devices I have "Calenders" check to sync. All 3 devices have the same Apple ID (iCloud Account ID) and password. Still no luck. I'm running the latest Mavericks and iOS 7.0.4 on my iOS devices.

I have the exact same problem. How did you set your default calendars so the devices sync iCal?

Bookmarks not syncing across devices

My iBook bookmarks have stopped syncing between my iPhone 4 and iPad 2.
I have tried turning the syncing off and on in settings but still no luck.....anyone have any ideas as it's driving me nuts ?????

Oh my oh my. Xmarks is conflicting with my OSX Safari and blocking iCloud sync somehow. I disabled Xmarks for Safari in system prefs and viola. iCloud across all devices syncing again in a matter of seconds.I was syncing Safari and Firefox.

Deleted emails not syncing across devices

Until recently when I deleted an email on one device, it would sync on all of them. Now I'm having to delete them manually on each one. I use various devices Samsung phones, Ipad, Android tablets and always worked fine. None of the settings have changed on any of them so not sure why it's suddenly stopped working. All still using imap servers.

Where don't they appear ? If you mean that they aren't automatically download then did you have automatic downloads turned 'on' in the Store tab in the iTunes > Preferences on your computer when you bought the items ? If it was 'on' when you purchased the items on your iPad / iPhone then see if the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option downloads them - if not then see if they show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage for downloading.

Flagged emails not syncing across devices

bought a neŵ iMac and a new macbookpro but flagged emails on old iMac not appearing on new machines.

In the iCloud preference pane, click the Options button next to iCloud Drive. In the sheet that opens, check the box marked Mail. If it's already checked, uncheck it and then check it again. Test.

Sent mail does not sync between devices

My sent mail does not sync between devices. For example, if I send an email from my Iphone it does not show in my sent box on the MAC mail (postage stamp). If I send mail from MAC mail it does not show on my phone. But if I go to Yahoo (mail) I can see all sent mail.

From reports on this site, Yahoo mail doesn't work reliably with Mail. The following steps may help.
Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

You can't create any mailboxes directly on your phone. Mailboxes/Folders have to be created on the mail server, then synced to your phone. This requires an IMAP account, as such is not possible with a POP account. Sounds like you have a POP account, if so you cannot create any mailboxes/folders.

That's correct. iCloud handles only its own email, and has no relationship with other accounts. It's in the nature of a POP service that messages are downloaded from the server to the machine - it was really designed for single-computer use in the days when a second computer was an unheard-of luxury. You can usually set the email client to leave message on the server either permanently or for a specified period, so that other devices can also access the messages, but of course they won't see replies or sent messages.
IMAP (which is what iCloud uses) is the better protocol to use - the messages live on the server and the various computers and devices read them from there, like webmail - and a service which provides that will behave in exactly the same way as iCloud but independently of it. You should ask BT if they can provide an IMAP version of the account - some ISPs provide both, some don't.

After downloading maverick, iCloud will not sync across my devices

Since downloading Maverick [10.9], iCloud will not sync across my devices. Mail is not working properly. I'm being asked for passwords from everything.
Also, every time I close and then reopen Mail, I get a message saying "Mail cannot connect to the iCloud account "iCloud", requiring my password, again!
Is there a solution to this? How can I find out if it's server related, etc.?
