Sent emails also received in the inbox

Hey everyone, so I've had a BB for just about ever now - but I've never seen this before. I just added a new email acct to my phone and whenever I send messages (with just that account) I get a copy in my inbox as an unread message. The email goes through to the recipient and everything, but whenever I send from this account, I get a copy. Any idea why this could be happening? I've done resets, test emails and everything, nothing has seemed to work.
I have a VZW BB Curve 3G 9330.
I'm on BB OS 6.
It's the third email account on my phone.
I have done a soft reset a couple times already.
Thanks a lot for any help anyone can give.

Basically it is a reciept of a sent message in my inbox... and I want to get rid of it. Can't seem to find the answer in options either... But I'm open to any suggestions

On my MacBook Pro in the "sent" mailbox emails are listed by my email address but on my iPad the "sent" emails are listed by the sent email address.  Very hard to look at the address where the message was sent to?

After upgrading to IOS 7.0.3 the problems gone.
There is no mention of this being a bug or a fix so im thinking a software glitch was the issue.
When I look at a message in my inbox and it says "To: JB Manz" - I click my name and it shows my contact info including my 4 email addresses and the address the message was addressed to is highlighted blue, others all black.
Not sure how it got fixed but it's working like it used to.

  • How can I get TB to get emails from folders besides the Inbox?

I just installed Thunderbird. It loads in emails from my Server's (Verizon) Inbox, but it gets nothing from the Sent folder or from any other of my personally-created folders. Can you tell me how to get TB do this? In Verizon, I changed all my emails to be "unread". Thanks.

You have to use IMAP email to do this. POP email only connects to the Inbox.

I have a  macbook, an ipad, and an iphone with the Mail app on all three synced through icloud, but when I read and delete emails on my phone, the inbox on my ipad is not update, so I have to go through and mark as read or delete messages again. How can I sync my iphone and ipad? (it seems like each is synced only to my laptop, so don't synchronize until I go home and use my laptop.

POP: yahoo, aol, comcast/time warnder/road runner
Imap: google, hotmail, and more including icloud.
If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically  Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.
To find out more about what happens to you, search on Google "difference between pop and imap"

Why are sent emails not stored in the Sent Items folder?

    Thanks, Matt.
I'm now starting to notice the emails that don't come in order are all posted from sites that use multiple platforms to send the same message; email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. so maybe that has something to do with it. I'm thinking the hold up is possibly at their end.

  • How do I get confirmation that an email I've sent has been received by the recipient?

How do I get confirmation that an email I've sent has been received? I am using OS X 10.7.5.

Not sure if this will work with your release of Mac OS X and Mail but some Google search for "Mac OS X Return Receipts" turned up this:

  • Mail & Yahoo: how can I get "Sent" folder to synch, like the "Inbox"?

Happy to be back in Mac, after 15yrs of corporate MS boredom. And TIA for your help with my little 'set-up' problem.
I'd like that my "Sent" mailbox (in Mail.app) mimic the functionality of my "Inbox" mailbox, as relates to my Yahoo!Plus email account. What do I mean? My Inbox associated with my Yahoo account, i.e. in the Mail sidebar under the higher-level Inbox mailbox, contains every email that was in my Inbox on the Yahoo server (and still is, since I chose not to "Remove a copy from the server after retrieving a message, in Mail>Prefs>Accts>Advanced pane).
But the "Sent" mailbox associated with my Yahoo account only contains the messages I send from the Mail application (clearly only when I choose to use the Yahoo account). Also, none of these messages appear in the Sent folder on the Yahoo server, i.e. when I go to the Yahoo site via a web browser, which I'll do when not carrying the Mac with me.
Otherwise, setting up Mail to work with Yahoo was a breeze. N.B. I pay the $20/yr fee for the Mail Plus account/service, so didn't get stuck with the "pay to play" issue that many others have when trying to set up their free Yahoo acct w/Mail.
I recall having this "Sent" folder functionality when I was using Outlook a couple of years ago, hence the answer to 'why would this guy have been paying $20 a year...?'. And I don't/won't go there on my Mac!
    Thanks, again, for any help.
    MBP 15" Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Necessity being the Mother of invention, I built a crude work-around and fixed half of the problem. I'd still be interested to hear if any of you have 'solved' the other half.
First half fix: On the mail.yahoo.com site, go to the Sent folders and select all of the messages there. Then, in the header, click on the "Move..." button and then select the "Inbox" as the destination. (N.B. This can not be undone; You can move messages from the Inbox to other folders, but not to your Sent folder. Go figure.) The next time you synch (or "Get Mail") from the Mac's Mail app, these "sent" messages will appear in your Inbox. Sort the Inbox by sender and move the messages sent by you to your "Sent" mailbox folder.
Now you've got a complete history of emails, both sent and received, on your Mac.
Second problem not fixed: Messages sent from the Mail app do not appear in the "Sent" folder on mail.yahoo website. So while your Inbox is synchronized between your Mac and your yahoo! account, your Sent items are not.
I was hoping that synching my Mac Mail with .Mac would allow me to see my sent messages remotely, from any internet browser. But at first blush, that dog don't hunt.
Any advice - short of a wholesale move to my @mac.com email - would be appreciated greatly. Even if the advice is "give up the ghost; can't be done; give up the yahoo email"!
    Cheers.

  • I can not find my sent emails on iPad2 and the icon is no longer on the screen.

I have an Ipad2 under accounts I have the icon inbox and under it a trash can but there is not a sent email icon. How can I locate sent emails? On my first Ipad there is a sent icon.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account and restarting your router.
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.

  • Sent emails only received by certain servers

    Hi everyone,
I am working on a lightweight email client and have an issue where only certain servers can receive my emails
I am connecting to the att/yahoo smtp server and sent messages are received by my att.net account and my
university account. However, my comcast account and and gmail account can't receive messages. Is there
any advice I can get without posting all my code?

Just to be clear, you're connecting to your att/yahoo account and sending a message to your
    comcast or gmail account, right?
I assume you get no errors when you send the message? If so, the problem probably isn't
with your code. Is there any chance the message is being flagged as spam when being
    received by gmail or comcast?
Just to prove it's not your code, you can try using the smtpsend.java demo program included
with JavaMail. See the [JavaMail FAQ|http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/FAQ.html] for tips.

  • I don't want my sent mail to appear in the Inbox, but I can't find a way to set that.

I just switched to Thunderbird from Apple Mail because Gmail doesn't work with Mail under Yosemite. I am trying to set up Thunderbird, but can't find a way to not have the sent mail appear in the Inbox. Also, I used Mail before because it could handle Exchange accounts as well. Is there any way to access Exchange accounts in Thunderbird?
    Thanks!

  • My emails are deleted from the inbox mailbox without my comand, and they dissappear

My messages dissapear from the inbox of my ipad, without my asking to delet them. Why?

This is also happening to me on my iPhone 4 (along with a very frustrating static-y headphone problem).
I'll see the e-mail come in, I can read the preview text before opening it but when I touch it to open, another e-mail opens and the one I'm trying to read has disappeared. Nowhere to be found, not even in the deleted files folder.
I don't have any other devices connected/synced that would be deleting it nor do I have the 200 max emails in the inbox as Robato suggested. even if I did, based upon Robato's information, the new e-mail would not be disappearing...
I need some help for sure....

  • Sent email not received

Running 10.5.2 on new intel iMac. Can receive email and send email, however, the sent email is never received. I put and airport extreme base station between the isp and computer and all works well. The direct ethenet connection the receipient never gets the message. All mail setting have been check and rechecked, mail & preferences have been deleted and reset up. Have tried adjusting the mtu to smaller packets to no avail. Connecting to the isp via a Cisco Workgroup Bridge. Anyone have any thoughts for solution besides putting in the airport?

This is extremely unlikely to be a network issue that will be solved by using airport vs. ethernet.
If that were the case you would probably get an error message in the mail client saying it could not send the message to the server.
The place you need to focus on is the mail server you are sending your message to. Its logs will tell you whether it received the message and what it did with it.

  • If I delete the inbox (as advised by Norton for security reasons), can I recreate it or is my email dead? Just the inbox, not the contents.

    Windows Vista Home Premium SP2
    Thunderbird 31.3.0
Norton advises me that there is malware in my inbox and that I should delete it.
If I do so, how can I restore the inbox folder.
I'm not worried about the contents, I just don't want to destroy my email system.
    Mike

Yes on the setup-page for your emailaccount go to prenumerations and you probably have a box near INBOX that needs to be marked.
But depending how you get your email, if they are downloaded or if they are copied into your pc, you might get all your old emails back, INCLUDING your virus-email. This virus is most likely in an attachment so it woudn't infect your pc UNLESS you open it. Schred that file and never open any attachment by default
