Sent icloud email reported as "malformed header"

A friend found one of my icloud account emails in their spam folder, automatically put there by their email provider. In the message they had appended a scoring for why the email had been put there, some of which was based on the content I sent (mostly a picture), but also they noted that the header of the html email was malformed: "Bad headers on message from free email service". Has anyone else seen this and/or know of a solution to avoid emails I send (from Mail.app) getting marked as spam? Here was their report:

Yes, you understood correctly.  From your explanation, you created your hotmail.ca ID by revising the shaw.ca ID.  Given that, you should perform the steps listed in my original post:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished goThen go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • Sent iCloud email missing!

Help! I have sent an email, and recepient confirmed that he got it, but it is not in my Sent items. Email vanished from Mail.app! I did not delete it, I did nothing to it, it just never laned in my Sent items!
Why is this happening? Can this be prevented?
To answer some possible questions; yes, I do have Store Sent Emails on Server option and no, my iCloud storage is not full.

Vanishing sent-mails is a serious issue that's plaguing Mac users since Snow Leopard, yet has never been addressed, let alone solved, by Apple.
For instance, see this lengthy discussion that started in May 2011:  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3065096?start=0&tstart=0
Rather than playing  Russian Roulette with my messages I  chose to abandon the unreliable Mail.app and payed 10 bucks to get Postbox, which is a  good and reliable alternative.

  • ICloud email - Sent Messages using up storage, multiple "Sent" folders

Several questions about iCloud email that I cannot find answers to on Apple's KB articles:
First, my situation.... I have the standard 5gb account and use it primarily for email and do not backup to iCloud.  Right now my Account Info in OS X Mail shows 0% usage in the graphic, and no info next to "Currently in Use" and "Total Available", which does not agree with what System Preferences reports (300 MB of usage my iCloud Mail).  That's a separate issue and most likely a bug in OS X.  One of my "Sent" folders is showing the majority of this usage.  My primary issues are as follows:
    1.     I have iCloud email setup on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac, all systems running latest OS X and iOS versions.  Why are there 2 Sent folders, and two Trash folders showing in Mail?  Why is there a Deleted Messages folder on my Mac Mail app if I already have a Trash folder?  On iPhone and iPad I also have 2 Sent and 2 Trash folders, as well as the web interface if I log into iCloud in a browser.  This is not logical to me at all.
    2.     Why is my Sent folder taking up so much space?  Currently it is showing the most usage by far.  I don't keep emails around and keep my inbox very small.  But I see that the Sent folder has messages from January 2013 in there.  What's Apple's method for a user managing their 5gb of iCloud space as far as Mail is concerned?  Do they expect me to go to my Sent folder, of all places, highlight all the messages, press Delete, THEN go to the Deleted Messages folder, and the hit trash again?  I find it hard to believe that Apple expects users to perform this set of tasks to free up space.
    3.     Is there a way to have only ONE Sent foler, and ONE Trash folder, synced across all devices?  This, to me, would make the most sense and would fit with Apple's reputation for simplicity.
    Thanks in advance folks!

  • When I create an iCloud email account, does this change my header?

When I create an iCloud email account, does this mean that my header changes everytime I send an e-mail? I have always used AOL and that is my normal email address but I've sent several emails to people who don't seem to be getting them(or, perhaps, their spam filters are putting them in the "junk box" and when they look for my aol header, they are'nt seeing it) I've been wondering if that could be my problem?

If you are using iCloud email it would be sent from your @icloud.com (@mac.com or @me.com) email address, not your AOL address, and the headers would reflect this.  If you want to send from your AOL account you would need to select that as your default account in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Mail section).

  • Some iCloud email only displays header and not text. Full message displays fine on iPhone using iCloud. How can I get full message to display

Until about a week ago I could read all my iCloud email. Lately some subscription items come in with the email header but the body is blank. When I checked the same messages on my iPhone via iCloud email the full body text is available. Any ideas how I can get my Mac Pro to see the text? I've rebooted the Mac Pro and closed the iCloud and reconnected but no change.
    Thanks

That changes things a little bit , login to icloud.com and see if you can find it in your sent folder.
If it is there you did send, just need to wait until you phone syncs "sent folder" perhaps on wifi.
If it is not, then I would say it is lost and you may have to send again. They have 20 megs limit, so make sure that message plus attachment is under that limit.

  • IMessage sent through iCloud email

I recently restored my phone to an earlier state from a few hours ago. After doing so, I sent an imessage to a friend; however the imessage didn't go through and kept saying "sending". I double tapped it and hit "send as text message" and it went through. However, after setting up my imessage setting on my iPhone and Mac, that one friend has been receiving imessages through my iCloud email. But all my settings for receiving/sending imessage's and facetime are to my phone number. The weird thing is, everyone else is receiving my imessage through my phone number, but only this one friend is receiving them through my iCloud and when they try to text my number it goes through as a SMS text message.
Does anyone know a solution for this? I have tried turning on/off my phone after I signed out of imessage and the app store.

I bought a T-Mobile iPhone a month ago and it was already activated when I got shipped to me. I didn't have to actiavte it.
Any T-Monile sim will show the T-Mobile logo when inserted and will show the signal bars . This is so you can use the T-Mobile data signal to activate if you have no WiFi, especially useful for iPads.

  • Using Entourage with iCloud email. Attachments don't show in Sent box?

    Hi,
I've recently switched over to an icloud email account.
After help from our community I have successfully got Entourage to work on my iMac as the link to icloud.
There is a problem with emails which have attachments though.
The title of the attached file appears in the sent message, but the attachment name is greyed out. When I click on it I only see the very first part of the attachment.
If there are more than one attachments I get the same, with just a small part of the first one and it's name greyed out. There's nothing to show there were more than one attachments.
I'm guessing this is something to do with the delay in sending from my iMac up to the icloud server?
Is there a soulution that will enable me to see the attachments in my Sent mailbox as I previously did when using my old .co.uk email?

Back up all data. Rebuild the mailbox.

  • Making sent, non-iCloud email available across iOS devices?

I use iCloud for my personal email. I have a .mac account and it works well. At work, my company email is set up on my Mac and iOS devices, and all incoming email is received on all of them. But my outgoing business email is only stored on the device from which I wrote it. How can I change my setup so that I can access all my sent business email on all devices?
My company email is an IMAP account and is set to use port 993 for outgoing mail. (not that I actually know if this matters, or what I'm even talking about...)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No, as I mentioned, my business mail is not an iCloud account. However, I have added the account to my iCloud-enabled devices (iPhone and iPad), and I receive incoming mail on them all. I am looking for a way to see my outgoing, non-iCloud business email on all devices, not just on the device I used to write the email.

  • TS4002 Can't sent email from iCloud mail iMac, due to exceeding daily limits. Haven't sent an email today. Works on iPhone, though.

Unable to send email message from iMac (os x Mavericks 10.9.4) from iCloud mail due to "exceeding daily sending limits". Have not sent any emails today. As a test, I emailed a message to myself using iCloud mail from iPhone. Able to open email on iMac, respond to that email and sent it without an error message.  But keep getting exceeding limits message with new email.

When I installed the security update my iMac sent all my iCloud emails to iCloud mail on the web and not to Apple Mail where my main email address is and where I like to work.  What to do?

Quit Mail, the run Repair Disk Permissions at least 2x in Disk Utility. Restart the computer in Safe Mode. Then restart normally and test, if the problem persists please post back.

  • ICloud email "sent" but isn't in any folder.

    Hello All,
A few hours ago, I sent an email through my me.com account. It showed as sent, so I thought nothing of it. A little while ago, I was going to forward
the message to a friend, but could not find it in my sent folder or drafts. I've tried everything I can think of to try to recover the message, but the account has no record I ever created the message to begin with. Am I just out of luck or is there a way to recover my recent drafts?
    Thanks in advance.

You probably can't get it back, but you might want to go to your Mail on icloud.com, click the gear icon on the lower left and choose Preferences, then on the General tab make sure you have checked in the Mailboxes section to save sent messages in your sent folder.
