Sent iMessage to iMessage oversea's but the recipients phone is receiving it as an Email

Im sending an iMessage to someone in Italy that also has an iPhone with iMessage (turned on) and they are telling me that it is coming in as an Email. Does anyone know why?

The server involved sends a signal to your device to indicate it didn't go through as an iMessage, but the server actually was able to push it through after the signal was sent to your device. It just doesn't bother to update you and correct the error.

Wi-Fi is not required for iMessage. Internet access is required for iMessage which includes when the iPhone is connected to the cellular network.
If an iMessage cannot be sent, it will fail to send and you will be prompted to send as an SMS if text only.

Yes, I just noticed this after upgrading to 5.0.1. That's why I came here to this forum. I tried re-syncing with address book, but it didn't help. Not only is my text messages only showing phone numbers, instead of contact names, but my call log is doing that as well.

I've resolved my problem now. It wasn't iphoto: preferences:@ that I needed but iphoto:preferences:general where there is the option to choose email for sending photos. Can't believe I missed that before.

My texts say they are sent to an android phone, but the android does not receive them for hours, or even at all.

When they do come through, they come in random order. It is really aggravating and I do not know how to fix it at all. I have reset my phone multiple, updated it, I have tried everything. Contact your carrier. There are no settings on the iPhone regarding SMS. SMS is a carrier function. Have the carrier check to make sure that your account is provisioned correctly.

I go into Messages there is a Send & Receive selection. My email address
is showing. I select Send & Receive and mu phone and email address is
there. A check mark is next to my email address. Is this the problem? I

I am still in the return window but i really do not want to return my mac as i know it has the ability to do what i want, my problem is just finding the software that will work as i know there has been a lot of complications with OS X Mountain Lion with softwares that caim to be compatible but then later turn out not to be.
I have been a windows user for years and this is really my first mac but apart from the hole software issue i find the mac 10x better than any windows computer i have ever used. For example i bought a HP laptop 4 weeks ago and has nothing but problems. At first the fans stopped working and making weird noises and then it began switching off when ever it felt like it and freezing like mad when i was trying to access the smallest program. I have found that now a days you dont get what you pay for with Windows especially since Windows 8 was released. Also Laptops such as HP now are just crammed with cheap parts, they dont take pride in their systems like they once used to unlike Apple. I know i will get more than a year or 2 out my mac (hopefully a lot more) but with windows systems it just seems to break all the time costing more money on extending warrantys. Also i like mac because i dont need to send it away if i ever get a problem, i can just take it into the apple shop half a mile down the road and they will fix it in store. Where as with windows i am waiting 2 weeks+ to just hear back from them.

Configure the email account on your android to not delete messages from your ISP's email server after they have been read. Only the device that you consider to be your master device should delete emails from your ISP's server. All other devixces that access your email account should not delete them.

TS3988 My text is all scrambled in iCloud. Has anyone else had this problem? I can read messages okay but the recipients name and everything else is garbled text.

When I open iCloud now (Running OS 10/7/5 Lion) I can read the body of an email message but all my headings and other text are totally scrambled in strange characters, etc. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a known fix other than a complete re-install?

Apple is aware of the issue and is expected to release 7.0.3 next week to address iMessage issues.
In the meantime I have found that a good old fashion reset cures it for a while.

2 iphones, registered to same apple account but the second phone was orginially set up on a different computer.Is there any way I can sync the second phone to the orginial computer so as to have both phones syncing the same?

Have two 4s's registered under the same apple account. The 1st phone was set up on the computer perfect. The second phone was set up by somebody who didn't know what they were doing and set this second phone up using the same apple id but onto a laptop. How do I know get the second phone to work from the computer and sync the two phones so they are the same?

I need to transfer my contacts to a non verizon phone, but the 1st phone is broken, can i do this?

I have two iphones at verizon, one was damaged but can turn on the screen was demolished. That number is going to another carrier soon but I want the contacts for the new phone a galaxy note 3. How can I do this? I have backed up the now broken iphone in itunes and also used backup assistant. But i dont know how to get from one to the other.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear the iPhone no longer works misslorainy. I'm saddened to learn you want to leave us, we don't want to lose you. Why are you considering this? We want to do everything in our power to keep you part of the Verizon Wireless family. Since iTunes is not compatible with Android and Backup Assistant only works with VZW phones, you have the option of using an email backup if you selected that before. Once you sync your email address to the new phone, select to restore contacts as well.
