Sent Messages Not Showing Up?

Emails that I am sending from my iCloud account on my iPhone are being saved to the server but a copy is not stored on any of my devices (iPhone/iPad/Macbook).  So if I go to the sent mailbox on the phone, the message does not appear there.
I changed settings under Mailbox Behaviors to switch to "iPhone", but then it does not store a copy on the server - just locally on the phone.
Am I missing some sort of setting that allows me to send a message from my iPhone and it both shows up in the "sent" mailbox on the phone and on the server?  My Yahoo mail used to do this so I'm not sure why me.com/iCloud mail could not also do this.  HELP!

enni5, are you referring to text messages or iMessages? Also, there is a bug in OSX where if you send iMessages rom your iOS device and receive them and then later try to view them on your computer, they become extremely jumbled. (out of order). If you're referring to text messages, remember that these are NOT saved in iCloud because they are carier specific. iCloud only uses iMessage to communicate.

Does anyone have problems with sent messages not showing in their Mail? I have two sent folders when really I only want one. Any tips?

    Not sure if this is a fix, but I tried sending myself a test email from only  the Bcc field, and lo and behold it now shows the Bcc field in all sent item previews;
...maybe leaving the 'To' field blank on purpose forced Mail to show it.
Rebooted the Mail program, still there - rebooted the machine, still there. Hope this is still relevant and it works for you too - J.

  • Why are MobileMe Sent messages not showing in Mail?

On one Intel iMac, messages sent do not show up on the other Intel iMac, both running Snow Leopard 10.6.7.  This just started happening recently.  Also, although there are a few thousand messages in the Sent Mailbox in MobileMe,, only 300+ appear in the Sent Mailbox on that first iMac.  Rebuilding the mailbox has no effect.  Any ideas?

What type of email accounts are they? IMAP or POP.
IMAP leaves messages on the server so you can get them from everywhere.
With POP, messages are downloaded to your client and then removed from the server, depending on your settings.
The iDevice setup for POP doesn't remove them from the server.
I think Mail's default setup for POP is to remove immediately.
If they are POP accounts, you can set Mail's preferences to leave messages on the server for a period of time so that you can retrieve them on multiple clients.

  • Verizon Messages web app sent messages not showing up on phone app

When I send a message from the Verizon Messages website on my pc the sent message does not sync with my phone (Samsung GS4).  I just started using this a few days ago, so it is the latest version.  Sent and received messages from my phone show up on my phone and one the website, and sent and received from the website show up on the website, but sent messages from the website don't show up on my phone.  Any ideas?

        nrkpt14,
Oh no, I am sorry to hear you are not seeing the messages sent from the web on your phone. Are you looking for the messages on the actual Verizon Messages app? Is the phone properly setup?

  • Sent messages not showing ipad

When I reply to or initiate an email from my ipad they are not shown in the sent box. How can I access sent my messages?

Unlike outlook on my pc, safari on the iPad does not have an outbox only inbox sent and drafts. If outlook fails to send a sent message it lets you know. What happens to the 'sent' message if the iPad fails to send it by safari? Not in drafts nor in sent and no advice that not sent. Any way of finding it? No sent messages are stored on my server.

  • Mail & Exchange - Sent Messages not appearing in Sent mailbox

Once setting up an Exchange account in Mail everything seems to be working fine except that when I send any emails they don't appear in the "Sent" folder. When I log in under webmail they do appear. Anyone else find a solution to this problem?
    Thanks for any help.
    K

I'm having my own share of problems with Mail 4.2 and Exchange Server 2007. See this post.
In addition to the Junk mail problem, I'm experiencing overall sluggishness. Mail takes longer than it should to quit, and sometimes I get the spinning pizza Loading… icon on simple text messages. I wish I could go back to re-configuring my Mail account to be POP instead of the auto discovery Exchange method.
As to the Sent mail problem, I am not experiencing that issue. I don't know if this will help, but go to your Exchange account configuration in Mail, click Mailbox Behaviors, and under Sent check "Store sent messages on the server" and for "Delete sent messages when:" choose Never.
My Sent messages all show up in my Sent folder in Mail, but they take a second. From what I can gather, these messages are sent to the Exchange Server first, and then downloaded by Mail. An unnecessary step, I feel, but I guess that's the way Exchange Servers work.

My "Sent" does not show the emails I have sent.

Check your quickfilter or folder view isn't set to show only "Unread" messages.
Also check under '''[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows,_Linux,_and_Mac Tools|Account Settings]|<select account>|''' that it is set to save sent messages, and where they are being put.

  • HT5622 Messages not showing up on my iPad?

Why are the messages not showing up both on my iPad and iPhone ?  Please advise

Movies are not eligable for iTunes match, it s just music and music video, the 'add to iClouyd' option is a generic entry in the list, Apple should really have removed it when it applies to movies.

  • Sent messages not going to sent folder

I know this has been asked a bunch of times. This IPAD was purchased in May 2010.
When I go to the sent box on the IPAD it shows the same emails as are in the inbox, but no sent messages I sent via the IPAD.
I've read through all the emails discussion boards and can't find any suggestions that work. The email account is a secondary user on the MAC, so I'm not sure if that's an issue.
I've started blind copying myself to get the messages to the MAC, but is there a way to keep them in the IPAD SENT folder?

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
If your problem is with Mozilla Thunderbird, let us know and we can move this thread to the Thunderbird queue. This question currently is in the Firefox queue for answers.

  • How to get newly-added Sent messages to show up?

Somehow I lost all my Sent messages; don't really know whether I trashed them or they spontaneously disappeared.
But I had a recent hard disk backup, and tried copying my backed-up Sent messages to all of three locations:
    ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/Sent Messages.mbox
    ~/Library/Mail/[a POP server]/Sent Messages.mbox
    ~/Library/Mail/[another POP server]/Sent Messages.mbox
In no case upon subsequently launching Mail did they show up in Sent messages.
(If I actually send a new message, it goes into the third of the above locations.)
I even tried restoring all the other ancillary files straight from my backup:
    Incoming_Mail
    IncomingTable_ofContents
    Info.plist
    mbox
    mbox.SKindex
    Messages
    tableofcontents
    ... but still no joy.
How do I restore my backup Sent messages?
(And why does this crap have to be so hard?!!)
    Thanks!
    PowerBook Pismo 500   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    George,
I am reviewing your very thorough listing of the contents of what appears to be the current Mail folder -- is this correct?
I am counting two POP folders, indicating two accounts -- is this what you expect, and have?
Based upon what I can see, you upgraded from Jaguar, directly to Tiger, in mid December 2005 -- is that correct?
The second of the two POP account folders, appears to not have had any activity (based of dates last modified) since late 2004 -- is this from a backup? Also, this second POP folder has never been converted to Tiger, consistent not only with dates, but there being no Messages folder.
In most xxxx.mbox folders, where there is both a mbox file, and a Messages folder, the comparison of size is favorable to all messages having been largely converted, successfully -- would you agree? However, some in the Mailboxes folder were not expanded, and I cannot be sure of those. These are three within a folder named Archive, so you would need to examine those.
The Sent Messages.mbox folder in the Mailboxes folder has NO message content, since its mbox is zero in size, and it has no Messages folder. The temp.mbox folder in the Mailboxes has a mbox file, whose size exceeds the size of the Messages folder -- would you have deleted some messages, after upgrading to Tiger, and that would explain its smaller size?
The first thing you should do, after quitting Mail, is to remove all files that are WITHIN any xxxx.mbox folder (including any within another such folder), of all files, EXCEPT the Info.plist, mbox, and Messages folder. Furthermore, for those where there is BOTH a mbox file and Messages folder, but the Messages folder size EXCEEDS the size of the mbox file, you can delete the mbox file, also.
If you really have a second POP file, and the one with 2004 dates last modified is only from backup, then you will keep the Info.plist file, and the mbox file in each mailbox, for now. It would be good to know if this is a currently valid account, however?
For those few, where the mbox size EXCEEDS the size of the Messages folder, I recommend copying those, and saving them on the Desktop. Then in the original, delete the mbox file, leaving ONLY the Info.plist file, and the Messages folder. Later you can decide if you think the old mbox files, of size, might have messages you still need to salvage -- we can work on that.
Now, at the root level of the Mail folder, delete the Envelope Index file. Launch Mail, and it will announce that it is ready to import your mailboxes. Allow this to continue, and it will only be reindexing those xxxx.mbox folder that have only a Messages folder, but for those with only a mbox file, it will be converting the message content, and creating a Messages folder -- again this only seemed to occur in the one, old POP account?
Later, you should look at those where conversion was needed, and if the Messages folder equals, or exceeds the size of the original mbox, then you can delete those mbox files.
I hope this is clear. It is not hard, but is very detailed work.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

  • Sent Messages not appearing in Mail

For the past several days many of my older Sent messages from my Gmail account have not been appearing in the Sent folder in Mail.  The most recent messages from sent from Mail appear, but messages sent from other devices that used to appear in the Sent folder within Mail are not showing up.  I can view my Sent messges within the Gmail IMAP folders and in my Sent folders in my iPad and iPhone Mail apps.  What can I do?

Select the mailbox in the mailbox list, then select
    Mailbox ▹ Rebuild
