Separate between windows 2000 and xp

Hi!,
In Zenworks 3.2 I want to filter between Windows 2000 and Windows xp
machines. As a result I want Windows 2000 machines to be imported in a
different container then Windows xp machines, but unfortunately windows
2000 en windows xp are on one tab. How do i separate?
Do i need zen 4 or some kind of snapin?
TIA

Okay Thanks for your reply.
But what about nal objects? For example Microsoft patches. You don't want Xp
patches to be rolled out on 2000 machines. So filtering on file existence is
the only way?? for example C:\windows\explorer.exe for xp and
C:\winnt\explorer.exe for 2000.

    Exemple:
    domain name domain1.com
    and User Logon Name (pre-Windows 2000) Domain2\user

If you have trust in place, then also you can use trusted domain name to login from trustee domain. Also, UPN suffix can be added.

  • Difference between Window Subwindow and Mainwindow

Hi I am new to smartforms. I want to know Difference between Window Subwindow and Mainwindow. are all these same ? Can i create a subwindow inside a main window ?

    Hi
see the different types of Windows
What are the different types of windows in SAP Scripts?
Windows are defined in the Layout sets which define the position and the text to displayed.
The different types of windows are:
    MAIN - Main Window
The main window is a continous window which can extend over several pages. If the text in the main window fills up a page, a new page is created.
Only one main window can be defined in the SAP Script whereas upto 100 instances of main window can be created in a page.
    VAR - Variable Window
This window can have the variable contents displayed on them. The contents of the window cannot exceed the window size. The content can be formatted for each page.
    CONST - Constant Window
The constant window can have a fixed content and is formatted only once.
    Main Windows (MAIN)
Each form must have one window of type MAIN. Such a window is called the main window of the form. For SAPscript forms, the main window has a central meaning:
    • It controls the page break.
    • It contains the text body that may cover several pages.
    • It allows to fix text elements at the upper and lower margins of the allocated page window (for example, for column headings).
As soon as a window of type MAIN is full, SAPscript automatically triggers a page break and continues to output the remaining text in the main window of the subsequent page. Page windows of type MAIN have the same width throughout the form. The SAPscript composer thus avoids reformatting of the text after each page break.
    Variable Windows (VAR)
The contents of variable windows is processed again for each page, on which the window appears. The system outputs only as much text as fits into the window. Text exceeding the window size is truncated; the system does not trigger a page break. Unlike constant windows, the page windows declared as variable windows may have different sizes on different form pages.
    Constant Windows (CONST)
Starting with Release 4.0, the system internally processes windows of type CONST similar to windows of type VAR. Therefore, if you create a new window, always use type VAR.

  • WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DEVELOPER 2000 AND SQL DEVELOPER?

Hello Everyone.I am new to oracle and want to know the difference between developer 2000 and sql developer in oracle.Pls?

Developer 2000 is an application for making webforms that will be served on an Application Server, and accessed by the end users through an applet in their webbrowser.
SQL Developer is a tool for administrating and manipulating data and structure of your database. Like a GUI version of SQL*Plus, not advisable for end users.

  • Why will a stand alone executalbe with an installer work on windows 2000 and crashes on windows xp professional?

When I run the setup.exe file on a Windows 2000 system it installs properly, but the same file run on a XP Professional system I get an error stating Fatal Error: Installation ended prematurely because of an error.
See here for more information on the specific installer I'm trying to use.
In fact I get this error for any stand alone executable I try to install on any XP machines. I am using LV 7.1. Is there a way to manually install eve

    Thanks

Sure you can Install a lv application manually. just copy the exe-file,
support files in a folder. For the runtimeengine just copy the file
lvrte.dll in the folder of your application or in the windows system folder.
    Hope that helps, Niko

Hi, anyone can tell me how to open a CD - ROM FOR windows 2000 and XP Version 1.1b Software by Softwire LTD?

Then you will need a copy of XP running in a virtual machine, or possibly bootcamp depending what Mac OS you're currently on.
Rather expensive way to do it, but if it's Windows software, you need Windows.

  • Windows 2000 and ODBC errors

I received "ODBC call failed" errors with client machines running Windows 2000 and Oracle 7.3.4 or 8.1.5 or 8.1.6, though I have used the same setup procedure with Windows 95 and Windows 98 and those Oracle releases without problems.
Are there any known problems with Oracle 7.3.4, 8.1.5 or 8.1.6 running on client machines with Windows 2000? If so, are there workarounds for this problem?

Double-check the 8.1.6 release notes, but I don't believe any of those releases are certified on a Win2000 machine. I believe you need 8.1.7.

  • Printing differences with LR4+ between Windows 8 and iMac

Hi. I have using my iMac running the latest version of OS-X with LR printing currently to an Epson XP-600 with pretty good results, that is, the print matches the screen with few exceptions.
I recently installed my second allowable copy of LR4 to a new HP laptop running Windows 8 and the prints, using the same photos, are way off both in darkness and in color shift. The Printer interfaces look different but many of the options are the same. I currently let the printer control the prints (with either computer) but tried separate profiles as well. No real change. Here is the important part... The only other program I have on the new Laptop that can print photos is Microsoft PowerPoint and the photos printed with PowerPoint are identical to the photos printed in LR on the iMac! So... somehow the Windows LR is changing the parameters.
I have compared settings between the two computers (only one opened at a time) over and over and ran through a set of ink cartridges trying to match either LR/iMac or Windows PowerPoint to the LR Windows photos to no avail. Am I missing something obvious? Why don't the LRs print the same with the same settings regardless of the operating system? Both are 64 bit computers. Any thoughts would be appreciated... thanks! Andy

Thank you for replying, Rikk. However I respectfully disagree with you. I wasn't comparing the printed photo to the laptop monitor but to the other computer's printed photo (and to the iMac's monitor by extension). Big difference. I deliberately let the printer manage color because with the iMac, the print matched the monitor without profile control. In Windows, I also let the printer manage color so LR, let alone the monitor, should have no influence on color, much like the PowerPoint print as you mentioned. The printer, if printer settings are the same, should produce the same print in OS-X or Windows 8. The PowerPoint print matching the LR print on the Mac proves this to be true IMHO.
To put it another way, I'm not trying to match the Windows print to the Laptop monitor, which is not only uncalibrated but somewhat irrelevant. The two monitors look nothing alike with regard to color. Neither monitor should actually influence the print when compared to the other print using identical printer settings with LR set to printer control.
Please do not think I'm trying to be contentious here, I'm not, but to put it a third way, If I print the photo from another program (iPhoto) on the iMac, it looks identical to the print in LR on the iMac. Because the printer is in control. On the Windows computer, printing in and out of LR, with printer settings the same, do not. That's what I'm trying to find out.
Finally with respect to your last sentence, that's my whole point. I believed I had turned off color awareness in LR on both computers. I don't need it. Apparently, I didn't turn it off on the Windows computer and I would love to know why it didn't go off?
    Thanks, Andy
PS You deserve an explanation as to why I use the printer control and no profiles. The answer is somewhat serendipitous: With this particular printer (and I've had many), when the printer is set to manage the color, the prints, for whatever reason, very closely match the iMac monitor (which is calibrated), even moreso than with printer color OFF and ICC profiles employed. I've tried them all. I only use one kind of paper. If I call up a photo of my grandchildren, the print matches the iMac display close enough for my needs. What I see is what I print. Why change it?

  • HELP  Deciding between Windows laptops and OS X MacBook Pro!

I'm going to college this coming fall and am in the market for a new laptop to bring with me. I've been debating between PC laptops and Apple laptops for months now. This all started with the release of the MBP and its Intel Duo processor. In short, the new MBP's intrigue me.
So, I ask for help with deciding between the two. I'm very used to Windows XP; I have a Dell desktop and a Sony Vaio laptop. I do know the basics of
OS X because we use them at my high school.
My main question is, Why should I make the jump from Windows to Apple/
    OS X?
Also, I have looked at several other notebooks, comparing features with prices. The 15.4" MBP is running at $2000. For the same price, I can get a similar Windows laptop with more technical features (more GB hard drive/more RAM).
    MAC-80GB HD ; 512MB DDR2 RAM
    SONY NOTEBOOK-100GB HD ; 1GB DDR2 RAM
Is the Apple notebook slower? I just have many questions, and I hope someone is able to answer at least a few and "teach me" the Apple way. Any help is appreciated!!
      Windows XP

Hi, eightnotes. welcome to the forum.
In my opinion, there are several reasons why you should make the jump.
The first and biggest reason is the user experience, i.e. ease of use and low-maintenance OS. You're familiar with Windows, so you know you almost need to have a degree in computer science to properly secure, protect and maintain a Windows pc against internet threats. The Mac OS is not so threatened, so you will spend less time and energy worrying about it, securing it, and fixing it when it breaks.
Another reason is the way that Mac OS X is well integrated to fit the hardware that runs it. I've always believed that one of Windows biggest weaknesses is the fact that computer manufacturers must properly engineer their hardware to conform to the requirements of Windows OS. Of course, some are better than others, and God help you if you have a problem. "Who ya gonna call?". If it's OS X on Macintosh, you're gonna call Apple.
And finally, I think Apple provides the best suite of software that a consumer can get for everyday use. iLife (with iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, iDVD and Garage Band) is simply the best at digital photos, music and video. If you need more than that, add iWork or MS Office for the writing and publishing... add other third party apps for other things and you're still using excellent, solid apps.
There you go! Three very good reasons (IMHO) why you should make the jump.
And here's one more for good measure. The ability to run Windows XP natively (and maybe Vista next year) on the newest Intel-based Macs. If you make the switch and just can't seem to tear yourself away from the dark side that is Windows, then you can always visit it from the comfort of your couch and your lap with your new MacBook Pro and Boot Camp.
So, even though the price may seem greater for the MacBook Pro, once you factor in all the advantages and factor out the hassles, the MacBook Pro is the way to go.
    I hope this is helpful.
    Regards... d.i.
