Separate email accounts

How do you separate 2 or more email accounts from using just one email icon/app?
I use yahoo as daily use, then outlook, gmail and one for where i work.
I manage to complete gmail on it's own.
So I have an icon or app that has white envelope with red marking "@" on it for yahoo, outlook and holding off for the one for work which I don't want to combine it to yahoo and outlook (actually don't want these three combined).
I browsed online and tried all kinds of ways to set up each icon for each no luck.
I had iphone before, no problem but android, I'm
Help here?!
Thanks!

One way, and I'm sure its not necessarily the only or the best, but simplest i can think of, would be to use a separate email program for each account, and set the icon you want for each if they are not already visually different enough.
For example use the gmail program for gmail. Use the other email program  that comes stock with Android for Yahoo. Download a third, my favorite is K9Mail, for corporate or other account.

I have an iphone 3gs.  I have 7 separate email accounts on the phone.  Everytime I update the phone, it reloads all emails received as new unread emails.  I can click each one, move them to trash and then delete all.  However, I am wondering whether there is any way to either (a) delete all from the inbox or (b) stop them from reloading?

    Hello Kizzyk,
I would start with taking a look at the settings to make sure that you are able to send and receive messages. If everything looks good then the next step would be to remove the accounts and add them back in. Take a look at the article below for more information and details on how to troubleshoot your issue further.

  • Am I able to synch separate email accounts/clients to different ipads?

Am I able to synch separate email accounts/clients to different ipads from the same machine?
Two users, each have an ipad.  On the same machine. one user utilizes the Mac mail client, the other uses Outlook for Mac, both users using the same machine login and user profile.  I want to synch my iPad's mail and folders to Outlook but leave the other iPad synching to the Mac Mail client.
    How can I accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance!
    -Sam

Well.. that is lame. IMHO, it shouldn't matter if I have POP or IMAP, so long as the data set is on the local machine it should synch my folders. I can't stand not being able to add folders on the ipad mail client..
anyway.. thanks very much.. though it's not the answer I hoped for I appreaciate it.

  • Password protecting separate email accounts on one ipad

Is it possible to password protect separate email accounts on the same ipad?

Nothing that I know of will disallow deleting apps. I looked at the Restrictions Settings and nothing is there about prevent deletion of items. You can also enable a Passcode that requires you to enter a four digit code to unlock and use your iPad. The downside is that you have to enter the passcode when you want to use your iPad.

  • HT201320 I just update to iOS 7 and can't get separate email accounts

I just updated to iOS 7 on my iPhone and can no longer see my three separate email accounts.  The only thing that comes up is All Mail which merges my three accounts.  Anybody else having this problem?

I've had a simialr problem - but no love with the reset. I have also stopped itunes from syncing and then re-synced the accounts with no success - they all seem to be gone.
When I open the mail app it prompts me to add accounts but as I try to add them it says they are already there and indeed I can see them in settings but there seems to have been a disconnect somewhere when updating to ios7.

  • Two users, one account, two separate email accounts

I recently upgraded my iMac 17" G5 to a 24" Core 2 Duo and I would like to set it up with one administrator account since it is only myself and my girlfriend that will be using this computer. Can I have this one user account and use Mail for both of our Mobile Me accounts, but not have Mail group everything into one inbox? I know I can set up the multiple accounts in Mail, but it then groups both of our inboxes into one. Is there any way to separate our Mail accounts without creating separate user accounts and having to switch each time one of us sits down?
    Thanks

No. that's what separate user accounts are for. either use that or have all mail in the same inbox. however, the whole inbox has submailboxes fro each email account and those are separate.

  • Husband and Wife sharing iPad; possible to have two accounts w / separate logins? (or two separate email accounts using native apps)

Each of us wants to check email, have our own bookmarks, own apps, etc.
Logging in and out of certain apps like email seems like it would be a hassle, especially for my wife. Email is probably the biggie here, but web browsing is also a potential issue.
We have our Mac set up like this, and was hoping there was some type of "switch user" feature on the iPad so we wouldn't delay logins (when you open the cover) but we would be able to each have our own "look and feel" to the device.
Seems like a no-brainer, but have done some searching and sounds like this is a no-go. Workarounds are probably not going to work as my partner is not technically inclined.
At the very least, we'd like to both be able to check email using the native app (without a lot of fussing to log in / out, typing long passwords etc).
    Possible?

    Thanks.
Privacy is not the issue, rather the issue is ease of use and keeping a healthy marriage. She hates it when I change the settings (or background image, etc etc) and I hate not being able to customize the user experience to fit my needs.
We do share a laptop and use two separate user accounts. I'm very surprised that multi-user capability is not built into iOS. Bummer. Kindle is getting toasted in the press for this. Seems iPad is no better.

  • Outlook won't separate Email Accounts

Hoping someone out there can help me figure out how to separate two email accounts I created in Outlook on the MacBook Pro (I'm a new Mac user, and am still "figuring" it all out).  Anyhow, I added both email accounts to Outlook (one specified as my "default").  Email from BOTH accounts are dumping into ONE inbox.  I already went into Preferences - General - Unchecked 'Group similar folders...', but it's still not separating the accounts.  I have logged out, and back in, I've deleted both accounts and started from scratch...nothing.  Can anyone give me some ideas?

ii appreciate the advice. i don't synch wirelessly at all, only with wired connection. i did check both calendars and wireless is off on both. it seems as though somehow one of the calendars is prioritized as default and the other doesn't synch at all. i can synch tasks, mem pad and contacts at either computer's outlook but only the calendar for one will synch. i even try to go into OPTIONS, ADVANCED OPTIONS, DEFAULT SERVICES, and change CICAL calendar before synching but to no avail.

  • Separate email accounts on ipad

I already have my sbcglobal account set up on my ipad. But I would also like to access my work email through outlook. Is there a way to set up easy access for both without blending them or one replacing the other?

Sure.  As Julian mentioned, when you have more than one email account on the iPad, you will see a pulldown menu with (among other things) a list of separate Inboxes.  There, you will see "All Inboxes", plus individual boxes for each of your two mail accounts.  Yours would be maybe "Home Email" and "Work Email" (you can name them whatever you wish).  Each of those accounts shows that email separately.  The "All Accounts" inbox shows the combined emails.  You simply access whichever account you are interested in at that moment.

  • How do I create a separate email account on a second iPad?

I purchased a used iPad1 for my father. I'm trying to create a gmail account on the iPad. I can log into the email account on gmail but it says "The username or password for "imap.gmail.com" is incorrect."  What am I doing wrong? I carefully re-enter the user name and password to match the gmail account but it won't work. What is imap.gmail? Any help would be much appreciated.
This may or may not be related but due to the email problems I restored the iPad to it's original condition (new) I removed my dad's account and started fresh but when I hooked it up to my iMac it synched my apps, calendar, etc. How do I prevent it from synching to my iPad2?

There are two forms of Gmail, POP3 and IMAP. You configure which to use in Gmail's settings. Then you configure the iPad to use the correct version.
    https://support.google.com/mail/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=1668960&page=ts.cs
You configure what is synced to the iPad by the choices that you make in the iTunes app on your computer.

  • Multiple separate eMail accounts

Can I use seperate email accounts through iCloud (ie. mac.com and a gmail.com) that icloud and my other devices will send and receive seperately? Presently I have a @mac.com, my wife has a @tampabay.rr.com account which does not allow seperate mailboxes for each of us. On my iPhone, iPad, iCloud and computer I would like to chose a seperate inbox for each account. Within that inbox I would like to have multiple mailboxes for filing/saving purposes. Thus far I can only do that with the @mac.com within the iCloud inbox.
    Thanks for your help.

IMAP and POP are mail protocols and the use of one or the other depends upont the mail server at your Internet Service Provider.
You should be informed by your provider if the account uses POP or IMAP or even if you can chose one of the two Sometimes also possible.
POP is generally older system than IMAP and the main difference is that with POP you download the message to your local computer (frequetly deleting them from the server  while with IMAP you  operate directly on the mail server. THe "visible difference" is that with IMAP you can keep different devices in sync in a much simpler way.

  • Can i have two separate email accounts linked to my mail?

As I am entering college this fall, I have received a new email address for the college that I am going to. I still would like to keep my original email address, but I also want to be able to check my new college email address very quickly. Is it possible for me to click on the "mail" tab and have access to both email addresses, yet have them still remain separate? I do not mean having one email forwarded to the other. Thanks!

To add a new e-mail account in Mail:
    Open Mail.
From the menu bar, choose File and then choose Add Account.
Fill in your name, e-mail address, and the password to your e-mail account.
Click on Create or Continue and then follow the rest of the on-screen instructions.
For more information and assistance on setting up an e-mail account with Apple Mail, use the Mail Assistant at http://www.apple.com/support/macosx/mailassistant/. It's easy - simply provide it with your e-mail address and it will guide you through the entire process of setting up your e-mail account in Apple Mail.
NOTE: You may need to manually provide your e-mail providers server information, such as incoming mail server, outgoing mail server, and port numbers. If you do not know this information, contact your e-mail provider.
Hope that helps, have a great day!

  • My wife and I have separate email accounts and separate iTune accounts on my iMac.  Having Apple ID issues.  My wife's ID pops up when I try to update apps or purchase music

I have a 4s, my wife has a 4.  I have an iMac and we both have our own email addresses and separate Apple IDs. Lately, whenever I try to update an app, my wife's Apple ID pops up and no matter what I try - new passwords, turning phone on&off, ect., nothing changes. I find this iCloud to be confusing and have not signed up for it, but it little popups keep referring to it.  I want my iRelated stuff to be mine and hers to be hers.  Help! Thank you

Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, and all future updates will require you to enter the password associated with this ID, whether you are using this ID for app purchases or not.  If you are seeing your wife's Apple ID when you update apps, you must have one or more apps on your phone that were purchased with her ID.  The only way to stop the prompt for your older ID is to delete these apps from your phone and not transfer them back when you sync your phone with iTunes.
