Separate ICloud Accounts Question

I am setting up separate ICloud accounts for my wife and me. I have them unfortunately mingled together. I want her Macbook, Iphone and Ipad to sync with each other, and my Imac, Iphone and Ipad to sync. When I started to delete the common ICloud account from her phone to create a separate ID for her I got this message: “What would you like to do with ICloud contacts, etc... when the account is deleted? 1. Keep on IPhone. 2. Delete from IPhone. If I delete will all of her current contacts and Safari data, etc be lost from the phone and all have to be reentered?

If there are data in the common account that your wife wants to keep, then choose option 1.  Then she should go through the data and delete any that she doesn't want, keeping only the stuff that belongs to her.  Then she can connect to her new icloud account.  The data on the device will sync up to the account and then propagate to her other devices when they are connected to icloud.  BUT, after doing option 1 on one device (computer or iOS devices), when deleting the common account on the other devices, do not choose option 1, since her data is already in the new account.

  • HT4436 How do I set up a separate iCloud account ?, at the moment my wife and myself share the same iCloud account, even though we have different iTunes accounts on the computer.

I'd like to have separate iCloud accounts for myself and my wife, at the moment any photos, calendars etc transfer to our iPhones & iPads from each other. I'd rather not have this as its a nuisance when we receive items that one of us doesn't want!.

  • Not sure if this means I created a separate iCloud account.  Please help.

When I first upgraded my iPad to iOS5 I turned on icloud but little else.  I assume this means that the iCloud account was created under the primary Apple ID.  My wife received a new iPad 2 for your b'day and I set her up with my primary Apple ID for purchases but with her own iCloud id.  My research indicates that for our needs - one Apple ID for purchases and separate iCloud IDs would be the way to go.  Yesterday I attempted to turn on syncing for Notes and it was indicated on my iPad that I needed an @me e-mail to do this and so I requested one and got it.  When I did so I was never asked to setup a password nor had I been asked the questions I was asked when setting up my wife's.  So now - did I create a separate iCloud account when obtaining the @me address or do I have to do something else?  I'd like to attach my syncing to a separate iCloud account as well rather than the master Apple account (thinking this is what I should do).
    Thank you.

    anyone?

  • Separate iCloud accounts for iphones with same registration.

My wife and I each have iPhones. Both are registered to the same apple account. Can we have separate icloud accounts for Photo Stream, Contacts and possibly backup?

  • HT204053 The entire family has used one itunes account for years. How do we all set up separate iCloud accounts now?

The entire family has used one itunes account for years. How do we all set up separate iCloud accounts now? Or should we? 5 macbooks, 2 ipads, 4 iphones, 2 itouch, 2 imacs.   How does one decide what to sync, share and what not to? Green Jeans.

You need to start by understanding the distinction between iTunes and iCloud - Apple confuse the issue by referring to 'iTunes Match' as part of iCloud. It isn't.
You don't have to have the same login (Apple ID) for iTunes and iCloud; many people don't and there's no problem about it.
Your iCloud ID gets you email, calendars, contacts, iWork documents and PhotoStream syncing between devices.
Your iTunes ID gets you the iTunes Store, the App Store for iOS, the Mac App Store for OSX,, 'iTunes in the Cloud' (downloading of purchased items to any logged-in device) and 'iTunes Match' (uploading of songs not purchased in the iTunes Store).
Your family members can easily each get their own iCloud account to keep email etc. separate - in each case they will need a different non-Apple email address (a free one from Yahoo etc. would do) to set up the ID. If they are sharing a Mac they need to be using a separate user account.
They can have their own iCloud accounts and still all sign into the same iTunes account: or they can open their own iTunes accounts using their new iCloud Apple IDs.
BUT they cannot transfer items purchased under the present iTunes ID to different iTunes IDs.

  • I have an iPad and and iPhone. They share an iCloud and I want separate iCloud accounts. How do I create a new account without losing any information? I want to keep the original account on one device.

I have an iPad and an iPhone that share an iCloud account. I didn't realize when I got my iPad last year that when I signed up the iCloud on the device that it would share and use 5g of iCloud between the both of them. How do I unsync them and have two separate iCloud accounts? I don't care about sharing between them. When my kids put games on my iPad, I don't want them going on my phone. How do I create a new iCloud without losing any info on the other device?

  • My wife and I have separate login for the Macbook, and separate iCloud accounts, by my contacts still sync to her iPhone. Why is this, and how can we fix it so every time she turns iCloud on, she doesn't end up with all my contacts?

    Hey everyone,
This problem has been bugging me for a very long time, and have not been able to find the answer I am looking for.
My wife and I both have separate iphone's with separate iCloud accounts and all. We also both use a Macbook Pro with separate logins.
The issue is, when my wife logs in to her account on the macbook, and turns the contacts on to sync with icloud on her phone, all of my contacts are saving to her phone.
This has happened multiple times, and she says she just wont use it, but I rather have everything work together correctly.
    Please help!!!

If you share an Apple ID, both of your phone numbers should be linked to that ID. You should be able to use your phone number as well. My wife, my daughter and I all share an Apple ID for purchases, and we each text from our iOS devices using our own iPhone numbers.
When iOS 6 came out, you were able to link the phone number with your Apple ID to use for Messages and FaceTime. You will need to sign out of messages on all devices and then start the process all over again.
    Take a look at this.

  • My family has separate icloud accounts, but we want to share an iTunes account.  How do we do that?

My family has separate icloud accounts, but we want to share an iTunes account.  How do we do that?

This is still not related to iCloud. Suppose your son has his own iTunes library. He connects his iPod to that, and the contents of his library are transferred to his iPod.
Now he connects to your Library; and his iPod is wiped and the contents of your Library transferred to it.
Any workaround is going to involve manual operation or sharing, and is outside my experience. Your best bet would be to start a new thread and ask about sharing different people's libraries, without mentioning iCloud which is a red herring.

  • HT4528 How do I set up separate icloud accounts on two phones with one apple id?

My husband and I have two iPhone 5s and one Apple ID.  I set up my iCloud account and we want to set up a separate one for him so we don't share each other's contacts, etc.

  • HT204053 My wife and me are using the same apple id on our ipads, can we have separate icloud accounts?

I want to know if you can have a separate icloud account on your ipad, the account is in my wife's apple id, i want a separate icloud account on my ipad.

If you are talking about Game Center, she can migrate to a different iCloud account and keep her Game Center ID the same (it doesn't need to be the same as her iCloud ID.
To migrate her iPad to a separate iCloud account, start by saving any photo stream photos she wants to keep to her camera roll (unless already there) by opening her my photo stream album, tapping Select (Edit in iOS 6), tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward pointing arrow (Share in iOS 6), then tap Save to Camera Roll.  If she is syncing notes with iCloud, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to her so she can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in her new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; this won't effect your iPad), choose Keep on My iPad and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone (if using iOS 7).  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create her new account and choose Merge to upload her data to the new account.
Once she is on a separate account, you can each go to icloud.com from your computer and delete the other person's data from your account.
To avoid getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls, make sure you are not sharing the same Apple ID for these services.  If you are, on her iPad go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a separate ID (such as her new iCloud ID).

  • Two iPhones with same Apple ID and want two separate icloud accounts.

I have two iPhones both of which are set up with the same Apple ID. How can I set up separate icloud accounts for each phone?  My phone has same email for Apple ID and icloud account. I wants wife's phone to have icloud set up with her own email account.  Right now her phone keeps automatically reverting to my email address for icloud.

To migrate to a separate account she will have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the current account to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted (if she's running iOS 7), choose Keep on My iPhone (to keep a copy of the iCloud data on her phone), then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create her new account and choose Merge to upload the data to the account.  (Deleting the account only deletes it from her phone, not from iCloud.  This won't effect your phone.)
Once she's on a separate account, you can each sign into your account on icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

  • I have two separate iCloud accounts.  How do I merge them?

I have two separate iCloud accounts, one at mac.com and one at me.com.  But I only want to have one iCloud account.  How do I merge the two into one keeping all the data in each?

If you have two accounts with separate iTunes Store purchases, only a senior Apple support tech can help you with that. It took several hours for mine, when a total stranger hijacked my email to use for their own (no, they could not access my account, but I was getting email from their connections. Like, D'Oh!) Going by what you're saying in your message, as long as your email ID has the same name preceding the @, all emails still go to you. I also have all three, but only use the first one.

  • HT2513 I have a family with 5 iPhones and separate iCloud accounts. How can we all share a common calendar?

My family had 5 iPhone 4S with separate iCloud accounts. How can we all share a common ICal amongst each other to manage the family schedule.

So you've shared the calendar, your family has accepted and added the calendar to their devices, but they do not recieve any changes or additons thay have been made since then? Is that correct?
Is the calendar you shared in your iCloud accounts in Calendar (as opposed to another account you've set up to sync calendars with your device)?
What happens if one of you family members attempts to edit the calendar?
Do you have a computer form which you can access the iCloud.com site? Does it refelct the latest updates to the shared calendar?

You got it with that same apple id thing. You can use different apple id's, but then they will not sync. Apple does allow as many free apple id's as you want, but they are in the business to make money.
