Separate iTunes Music & Video Folders

Bothered by the fact that I can't have a separate folder location for my iTunes Music, Apps, Videos, Books, etc. My Music folder is pushing 400GB and I'd like to keep it on an external drive at my office (where I do most of my listening). On the other hand, I need my Apps and Video folders with me at all times so I'd like to keep them on my internal drive in my Users/Music/ folder.
Some Google'ing aroung has lead me to believe that there is no way to fake iTunes into seeing my externally stored Music folder via symlink, etc.
Dear Apple iTunes team... Why oh why can't I do this?

3) drag the files I want to the External HDD;
4) Delete those files from iTunes?
Then How'd I:
5) Rebuild the Old Library to reflect NO Movies & TV Shows?
New Library:
6) I assume I can go to Preferences/Advanced on the New Library and just point to the New Folder on the External HDD?

Hi,
My iTunes folder has become ridiculously large due to music and video content. Video takes up most the space.
I was wondering: "Is it possible to keep my music and videos in separate libraries? If so how would I do this and how would I get iTunes to switch between the two? Most important, how would I be able to keep the iTunes Library in-sync?"

You copy it from one computer to the other.

ITunes Music Videos Skipping in Windows 8.1

About three iTunes updates ago, I began to have chronic problems with my iTunes music videos crashing on both of my Windows XP computers. I stopped purchasing altogether. I just bought a new computer with Windows 8.1. The iTunes videos play, but the quality is not great. I can hear little skips in almost every video, like an old vinyl LP with a few scratches. The same videos play beautifully on my iPod, and I've played music DVDs on my new computer with good results. I am so disappointed that this new computer didn't completely resolve this problem with iTunes videos. Any ideas without a lot of hoop jumping?

Replying to my own post to add that it is not just the sound that skips, but the picture. It seems very random.

Are these music videos located under Videos on your iPod? Do it play other regular movies (if you have any on the device)?

Why do my itune music videos not play through my Bose Soundlink Air? My downloaded music plays fine. Also my music videos play through my iTouch its just through my Mac computer they won't.

Itunes music video rotation

Ever since we got the ISO 7 and up update. I haven't been able to rotate my ITunes Music Videos. Is there a way to fix it or do we have to wait till there is a software fix coming up? I didn't buy music videos on ITunes to see them in a small format, and if I rotate I get a collage of album covers that is not as user friendly as the last swipe mode it use to have. Please don't confuse this with the rotation lock on the phone, that works fine. This has only to do with the ITunes Music Videos on the IPhone. Thank you.

I haven't seen anyone be able to use iTunes videos in a Keynote presentation. Not sure if the problem is on the QuickTime side or on the Keynote side (Keynote hasn't been updated in awhile but QuickTime's been updated several times).

Airplay only streaming audio portion from iTunes music videos

ip5, ipad2 & 3 all current f/w & Apple TV2 :
Just all working correctly a little over a month or so ago. Now, can only get audio portion from music videos when Itunes Match is turned ON. Downloading music videos to local device & turning off Match on said device allows for proper a/v playback. Other: going into itunes/purchases and clicking on any purchased video will properly play to ATV2. Videos played via safari, youtube, other apps, also play just fine.
I've rest all devices, including router, nothing. Also restored AV2 & ipad3 just to make sure that the most recent firmware update to all devices was not the cause; result still the same. Friend attempted to play a music video they had on their iphone4/ipad2 and they too couldn't play a purchased iTunes Music Video properly.
Airplay is turned on on all devices.
Do people think this is a bug in the backend of Match or other? any help would be great, thank you.

What you want to do is, unfortunately, not possible. If you want to listen to just the audio for those songs you'll have to buy the audio tracks.

How do I play iTunes Music Videos on my PC

I bought a music video on my iPad and want to play it on my Laptop.
I can't find anywhere on iTunes on my Laptop where that option comes up. I can search the same music video on the iTunes store on my laptop and it comes up for sale again.
I used to play them on my PC all the time, but haven't tried it in a year. Did the support for this get removed from iTunes for some reason?
Yes, I have already asked it to sync purchases.
Not sure if anyone else is having issues, but I've had more problems since I upgraded to iOS 8 and all the subsequent versions of 8 than I've ever experienced upgrading Windows on a PC, since they came out with Windows ME. Certain features in a bunch of apps stopped working, video playback freezes all the time (this is on an iPad 4), and stuff that I have just bought, regularly comes up telling me that I haven't purchased it, even though I have a receipt for it.
HELP! I really wish I could roll back to iOS7.X, even 8.1 really, really *****!

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows Vista, loaded Itunes and transferred my Itunes Library to the new computer. The music files work fine but the music video files have a glitch. The video freezes intermitently while the audio continues to play smoothly. Help?

Itunes music videos won't sync to ipod

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I have been trying to resolve this problem for a month. My daughter has a 5th generation video ipod. When she updated her ipod all of her music videos were erased from her ipod. They remain and play in itunes, but wont transfer to itunes. There is a message that states some files weren't transferred to ipod because they are not compatible, but they are and they used to be on the ipod. Once again files that used to play now won't transfer and are being labeled as incompatible. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. We are about to go on a trip and having her ipod work, would make it a much more relaxing trip for me... Thanks

After my computer freezes itunes says: Attempting to copy the disk "ipod name" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to. It also says: itunes could not copy "name of a song" to the ipod "ipod name" because the file could not be read or written. This is after it synced all but 100 of my 800 songs and all of my apps.

ITunes music videos playing small on full screen mode

When I select full screen to play a music video in iTunes it doesn't play full screen but its seems about half the size it should be. Please could someone tell me how to get it back to playing in full screen mode again?

Hello Amy, welcome to the Apple forums.
Where did you get the video from?
Drag your video from iTunes, on to the Desktop to copy it.
Right click on the video icon and choose "Get Info".
A long window will open on your desktop. Look in the section "More Info:" then, directly underneath, "Dimensions" there will be some numbers there such as 720x480. Post the numbers you are seeing, here. It would also be helpful to know which computer and monitor you are using.
