Separate License for EC&O (Part of DIMP) - Required?

We want to Use the BOS functionlaity with is available in EC&O which is a part of DIMP.
As per the Note 874473, DIMP is part of SAP ERP central component (SAP ECC). We can use the DIMP features by activating it using switch(SFW5).
We are having License for ECC6.0. Whether we require any separate license for using the EC&O Functionalites.
Please anyone clarify at the earliest.

This Note is related DIMP as it is an Industry Add-on. What does this following lines mean then?

Test & Target is software as a service, so you don't license per instance the way CQ is licensed, you pay for your usage. I am not familar with all the options, but believe it's based on how many mBox requests you run.
There are integrations to Test and Target within CQ I am honestly not sure if those are licensed in their own module or are part of a base license, you would be best off consulting with your company account representive to find out.

What are my options in terms of burning these parts on to separate DVD's, what is the process, what size DVD RW should I buy, what bitrate should I use, and what quality I should expect for the burn. Any advice or insight is welcome.

20 episodes totaling 50 hours equals about 2.5 hours per episode assuming all episodes have the same duration. Fitting 2.5 hours onto one single layer DVD would require a low bit rate which means quality wouldn't be anywhere near best, but that's a judgement call you'll have to make based on several factors. For example; if there is not much motion in the video (talking heads, etc), you can get by with a lower bit rate and may not notice any quality difference.

The process is essentially the same as it is when authoring a regular DVD with 2 hours or less of content. However, with as many discs as you'd need to complete this "set," you'll need to create a separate DVD Studio Project for each disc. Basically, you'd use one of Compressor's DVD Presets (or customize a preset) to create an MPEG--2 video file (.m2v) and a Dolby Digital audio file (.AC3). Import both of those assets into your DVD Studio Pro project for authoring and burning.
If you want to keep one episode per disc, DVD Studio Pro does have a 150 minute preset or you could use dual-layer discs with a higher bit rate for better quality. Again; your call.

Size? 12cm. Capacity? Single layer, single sided DVD discs (DVD-5) have a rated capacity of 4.7Gb (4.37Gb actual), including menus. If you use single layer discs and want to keep the quality reasonably good, you'd need at least 50 discs to complete this "set" with each disc holding roughly 2 hours of footage if you keep the menu on each disc simple. Or, you could use dual-layer discs (DVD-9) which have a capacity of about 7.95Gb - almost doubling the recordable capacity. There are also dual-sided, dual-layer discs available (DVD-18) but they are relatively expensive and have to be manually turned over to continue playback ... but they do have roughly 15.9Gb capacity.

Exactly; the quality is dependent on the bit rate chosen, as well as the quality of the compression. Using compression markers where needed can greatly increase the quality of playback but will most likely increase the file size of the compressed video. For the best quality, keeping the bit rate as high as possible allowed under the DVD specification will yield the best quality but some DVD players may choke if the bit rate is too high. For best quality I typically aim for a bit rate around 7.6 to 8.0Mbps but that will only allow about one hour of footage.
Naturally, if you decrease the bit rate, you can fit more footage onto the disc but quality will be sacraficed. Here's a chart approximating DVD bit rates and durations for single layer discs (does not include space for menus):
3.5Mbps - 120 minutes
5.0Mbps - 95 minutes
6.0Mbps - 82 minutes
7.6Mbps - 65 minutes
8.0Mbps - 60 minutes

Separate license for J2EE engine???

I have a J2EE instance with EP. I have applied a license key received in a text file.
After applying the license, I see the following in the system info:

My question is:
Why does J2EE engine shows expiry after 12 days? Do we need to install a separate license for J2EE engine?

Separate License for Oracle Wallet Manager

From our application we have been making webservice calls using utl_http. In the past this has been via http but we now have a requirement to make a webservice call using https. This requires the use of Oracle Wallet Manager. Is a separate License required to be purchased to use the Oracle Wallet, or is it part of the Oracle database license? We have an internal check going on now with various people, but I just thought I'd ask the question here as well.
Database version: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi

Oracle Wallets can be deployed on clients, middle tiers, and database servers FREE of charge. However, the following features that use an Oracle Wallet in turn require licensing of the Oracle Advanced Security Option:
- PKI credentials
- Transparent Data Encryption.

Oracle Product Licensing is so complex that I need to like to have some guidance from fellow SOA users.
1) Can anybody tell me how is Oracle Application Adapter is licensed?
2) Is it licensed by the server (processor License) on which it's installed ( e.g BPEL Server) ?
3) Or is it licensed by the TARGET DB that this Apps Adapter going to connect ?
I am sure there are people who have bought Apps Adapter and there input would be appreciated.

The Oracle Apps Adapter is a seperate license. It is sold per CPU and it depends on the # of CPUs of the SOA/BPEL server -- not the # of CPUs of EBS that you have. Also, not all CPUs are created equal -- some have different multipliers. Your Oracle rep or an Oracle partner (like the one I work for) can help you figure it out.

Serial numbers are platform specific. You cannot use a PC license on Mac and vice versa. You would need to run a platform swap to use it on a Mac and upgrade to CS6, but then would lose the PC license. Therefore you eitehr need to buy a separate license for the Mac or join Creative Cloud.

We are planning to move to Windows Server 2012 DataCanter Edition, and we are aware it suppports unlimited guests OS and it will provide us also free multiple Activation keys, what if we install Windows Server 2008 R2 edition and Windows Server 2003 R2,
the free activation keys will work with these or we need to hae separate licenses for these versions, does it mean the free activation keys will work only on Server 2012 Edtitions alone?.

if you have the Datacenter Edition you can have the right for Downgrade, depends sometime on the Edition, OEM, with SA etc...
If you have the right you are allowed to install VM with the DC Edition of the Version and all older Versions and Editions like 2012 Std. and/or 2008R2 and 2003 etc...
You need the Media and License Key, how to get it for odler Version if you do not have one, check with your local Microsoft Contact or Dealer.
Since 2012R2 you have the new Feature "Automatic Virtual Machine Activation", means a VM is automatically activated if it runs on a Host with activated DC License.

Can I Re-Use My License For Installation

We currently have a license for Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition which my company pays a lot of money for. Currently the 11g database is sitting on hardware that keeps me up at night. Thankfully we've obtained some new hardware (Oracle X6270 blades) and one of them is dedicated hardware for our new Oracle Database 11g R2. Can someone please tell me if I can use the same license for our existing Oracle 11g R2 production server and stand up a replacement 11g server or do I need a completely separate license for this? We don't plan to keep both online for long at all. I've taken all the required back / recovery steps using 'RMAN' but I don't want to take our current server down until the replacement is online...
Is this possible or do I need a new completely separate license?

Reading "US Army" and having previously done consulting at RRAD my advice is that you are under a special schedule and what is true out here is not necessarily true where you are and visa versa.
Check with the person responsible at your facility for your licensing ... from Oracle's standpoint you are undoubtedly site licensed with a ULA (unlimited license agreement) ... but that does not mean that your internal rules and regs aren't very different.
I doubt anyone at Oracle will care what you do ... but someone in DC may well point a laser your way.

Its simple. Check your Output Type in SPAD. where in also check the printer driver name. printer drivers is named in the SAP system with unique four character
code, such as STN2.
The default will be SWIN: Windows (SAPlpd/SAPWIN). Compare your Dev System.

SAP* should be able to login.
1. Delete the SAP* user from client 000.
2. set the below parameter in the instance profile of your system
login/no_automatic_user_sapstar=0
this needs to be done from the OS. Bounce your system for the parameter to take effect. Login with SAP*/pass

Virtual environment license for sql and other dependencies of sharepoint in Azure

We have Microsoft ActionPack. And we use Sharepoit 2013 from ActionPack , which is installed on our server.
But our on premise server doesn't satisfy the hardware requirement for sharepoint, and thus it is too slow to use.
So we decided to move sharepoint 2013 to Microsoft azure.
But we don't have any idea of virtual environment license for sql and other dependencies of sharepoint in Azure.
Do we have to purchase separate license for sql server and other dependencies.?

Every element of a SharePoint 2013 farm that is installed on Azure virtual machines must comply with the licensing requirements for SharePoint 2013 and related and supporting technologies.
SharePoint 2010 and SQL Server licenses should be purchased separately.

Export License Report w/ attached Part Numbers

Hi all,
I am trying to get a full license report including part numbers to export to Excel. When I use the Display Existing Export License transaction, I can search for all licenses for a single part number at a time, but I cannot get a report that will display all parts attached to all licenses.
The existing report shows Legal Reg - LType - License Nnumer - External License Number - etc.
What I would like attached to this is the list of part numbers that are on that license. Does this exist? Is there a table I can search or cross reference in SE16?

Hi Ben,
You can try the following tables to achieve what you are looking for:
(1) Table /SAPSLL/LCLIC contains header data of the licenses
(2) Using the /SAPSLL/LCLIC-GUID_LCLIC, you can go to table /SAPSLL/LEGCON which gives you the Assigned documents for the given license
(3) Using /SAPSLL/LEGCON-GUID_POBJ, you can access to table /SAPSLL/CUIT which gives you data of the Assigned documents items
(4) Using /SAPSLL/CUIT-GUID_PR, you can access to table /SAPSLL/PNTPR which gives the material number used in the Assigned document item.
You will need to fiddle with the GUIDs to navigate between the different tables...
