How can I display a VI running on NI-DAQ on a separate monitor

I am using TPC-2215 and NI-9138. The VI running on the TPC communicates user inputs to the VI running on NI-9138. The VI running on NI-9138 generates a chart and displays it on the front panel in real time and I'd like to view the chart as its being generated. The problem is i cannot display the chart on the TPC because there is not enough room. I do not want to use scroll bars because the controls and chart have to be visible at all times.
Is there a way I can display the chart, thats being generated on the NI-9138 VI, on a separate monitor?
I tried connecting a monitor to the VGA port on NI-9138, but all that displays is CPU usage data, not the VI front panel.

That tells me the 9138 is running LabVIEW RT. I'm thinking you will have to use another TPC-2215 to display your graph.

Hi, I think you could setup Migration Assistant on the PC first, then move the Monitor to the Mini... with a MiniDisplay Port to DVI or Dual-Link DVI adapter depending on rez of the Montior.

External Monitor Viewing - ALL FRAMES Unchecked

Hello FCP gurus
I cannot get a video signal on my external monitor.
For some reason I have lost the ability to check the ALL FRAMES option in the View Menu under External Video. Each time I click ALL FRAMES it stays in the OFF mode. I think this may be the reason for the external picture loss? I have also just relocated my edit suite so somewhere in the move I might have upset the 'workflow'. Not sure, can't see why? Before today I was getting an external picture no problem.
The configuration I have is: A Firewire connection from the Hard Drive to a DV Cam (PD150). RCA Vid connector from the cam into a domestic TV.
I have followed all of Shane's #8 Stock Answer and still nudda!!
Can anyone help?

A simple path is mac > firewire > camera or deck > rca cables > tv
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Then go View > External video > all frames
Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section

Heck, I don't know, but reading your question helped me to finally figure out how to get my external monitor working.
Would it be okay to add to your question. Now that I have mine working the audio goes through the monitor instead of my nice Cerwin-Veg speakers. Is there a way to fix that?
P.S. Have you tried a power down, hooking up the monitor and then coming back up?

Is anyone using their MB with a separate monitor?

I am wondering if using the MB with a separate monitor causes it to be noisier or hotter. I once tried to use a PB with a separate monitor and it was extremely noisy.

Your MB should preform without any issue's. I of course suggest that you only use the external monitor when the AC adaptor is plugged in.

Hooked up through mini display port>hdmi adapter to the monitor.
The display seems to be ther but not centered on the screen...
Also there is no audio..
Are there settings on the macbook that I need to adjust??

ok , I got the video centered on the remote display but there doesn't seem to be any audio out from the mini display port...

I'm confused as to why there should be a need to have an "Enable Separate SMPTE View Offset" command in the SMPTE view offset window. As the Transport window allows/requires you toggle "use SMPTE View Offset" on to use the offset facility, why do you actually have to enable it in the offset window? as it would be automatically disabled if "use SMPTE View Offset" is disabled in the transport window... or am I missing something??

This feature is handy specially when working with film synchronization.
If you are not a film composer/scorer, then there is no need to burn your brain cells on the subject. However I do a lot of working in this area, and I find Logic quite resourceful - perhaps the best tool in the market. That's why I've been sticking with it since version 3.0.
If you need examples on how to use it, let me know.

BPEL Designer - Monitor View for BAM

Is there anything special you need to do in JDev to enable the Monitor View in the BPEL Designer? We only have the BPEL and BPA options to choose from. The doco implies it should just 'be there'? We're using 11.1.1.1.0 of JDev.

That's called extended desktop mode. You can think of it as an extension of your main screen probably off to the right. Drag an app off the screen to the right and it will appear on the second monitor. You can see and adjust placement of the second monitor in System Preferences > Displays > arrangement tab. Drag the second screen around for your optimum placement. Also the little bar can be moved to either screen and that determines which screen will contain the dock/menubar.
Also you can toggle between Mirror and extend desktop mode by pressing CMD F1.

Imported footage shrinks in monitor view

Hey everybody, I'm new to Speedgrade, so sorry if the answer to this problem should be obvious. Carrying on, I'm having an issue when I bring a clip into Speedgrade. I'd bring in the clip and switch to the monitor view, only to find that my footage has been massively scaled down! I've tried importing via premiere, as well as using the standard navigator of Speegrade for importing. I'm not sure if this information is relevant, but the shot I'm attempting to work with is 29.97 fps, 720 x 480, avi format. Any help would be greatly appreciated - Thanks in advance!

Can you create two separate tile views for a Promoted Links List

I have lots of pages on my site where i want the effect of the promoted links list tile view. However, i don't want the same links to show up on every spot i use it. Is there not a way to create separate tile views so you can create filtering conditions?
Right now i am stuck having 5 separate lists with 5 items in each because of this limitation. Am i missing something?

There is an easy way to do this.
Add columns to the Promoted Links list.
Add a column named Page.
Type in name of the page on which you would like this link to appear.
Add a column named Row.
Create a view filtered by page name and Row. Example: Show only when Page = HomePage AND Row = 1
Create another view filtered by page name and another Row. Example: Show only when Page = HomePage AND Row = 2.
Go the page you would like the links to appear. Edit the Page.
Add Promoted Links app part (still not used to the app thing) and select your view for Row 1
Add another Promoted Links app part and select the view for Row 2.
Lather, Rinse and Repeat.

FCE and a separate monitor problem

I have a Mac AND a separate monitor.
I like to work with the browser only on the 17" monitor, along with all my icons, and have the compositing version of FCE on the ginormous Mac screen.
Every time I open FCE, tho, it forms itself in total on the smaller monitor screen and I have to drag the individual components of FCE over to the big screen. This takes up 23 seconds of my valuable time and exhausts me for the day.
My last project opened perfectly on the big screen with the browser snugly on the small jobbie. So at some time I must have done something accidentally right. (Story of your life, says my wife.) But I don't remember now what I did.

I might add that, thanks to the excellent instruction in your book, and your help in this forum, my grandson the embryo director, was able to proudly show the high school cast of "A Bad Hair Day" his grandfather's first FCE editing work and first documentary, "The making of A Bad Hair Day" last Saturday. Separate monitor and keyboard

Hi. I was just about to get the IMac 24" and then took a look at the MacBook Pro 15". It would be nice to have the portability of the notebook to take downstairs or travel with. Does anyone use a separate monitor and keyboard for their MacBook? I don't play a lot of games but want to make sure that I have enough power to run my photo imaging software. Would the basic MacBook Pro be OK or should I upgrade to the next level? Thanks!

i have that basic and it works great.. i take mine to the office and plug it into the VGA monitor and use the an external keyboard and works like a charm.

Can I run two different labview executables from one PC on separate monitors
simultaneously? I have a 2 station test facility which I would like to use 1 PC and 2 touchscreen monitors so the 2 operators ccan run different tests on each station simultaneously.

Monitoring/Viewing Berkley DB Database Content

I am using Berkley DB 5.0.21 (Native Edition) and need to have some kind tool through which I can monitor/view the data available in my database. Does Berkley DB provides any monitoring tool for this?
I am also looking for any out of box solution Berkley DB provides for monitoring/viewing the database content.

Yes, we are looking for a graphic tool in the Native Version that would help us inspect & monitor caches. The examples in Java Edition would be JEMonitor, RepJEMonitor, JEDiagnostics, and RepJEDiagnostics. These are part of the BDB JE JConsole and allow graphical representation of JE applications caching activity.
Please let us know at your earliest convenience if there are similar options in Native Edition.
