Separate navigation to original

Hi, I am currently building a site in Muse CC and have included a horizontal navigation bar that includes sub-menu's at the top of each page (outside of the A Master page as I want it to stay in view when scrolling).I now need to include links to new pages within the footer, but when I add new pages these are automatically added to the original navigation bar at the top of the page which is something that i wish to avoid? My question is where and how do I include/make these new pages?

Hello,
If you wish, you can choose to not include the newly created pages in the main navigation menu. To do that, you can go to the "Plan Mode", then locate the page that you don't want to show in the menu. Once there, right click (windows)/ CTRL+Click (Mac) on the page and then choose Menu Options -> Exclude Page From Menus.
Doing this will not show that page in the main menu anymore, unless you reverse this change yourself.

In WAD I want to create big navidation block that will be based on 1 DP. I can create 4 nav. panes on 1 page and divide inavigation on the following partitions:

- or show All
But how to create separate navigation pane: for example, I want to divide the long list of Free Characteristics on the partitions. So, finally I want ot have 5-6 partitions of 1 navigaion block. Is it possible?

Hi,
It would not be possible to divide the free chars of one DP into different nav blocks...why would you like to do so? You have the flexibility of deciding how many chars appear next to each other in the nav block and you can leave it collapsed to maxmise screen space.

How to make mp3s play in separate window from original Safari window

I am trying to drive a musical production from a local html file of the script (text of the play), with links to local mp3 files. Now, Safari brings up a QuickTime window to replace the script window. This makes it hard to follow the script to see when it's time to pause the mp3, etc. How can I configure Safari to play the mp3s in a separate window?

<update on my situation> I learned that Crtl-click brings up a menu to open in new window or new tab. That's much better, but odd that the same Safari Preference settings don't work (single click uses QT plugin).
I tried Firefox 3.5.5, and am getting the same results. I adjusted the treatment of mp3 and x-mp3 to use iTunes, but even after exiting Firefox and restarting, it only opens QT either using QT plugin (click) or separate tab/window (ctrl-click).
Firefox 3.5.4 on Windows works fine: I left-click on the mp3 link, and it brings up a separate WMP window.

What is the most space efficient way to store libraries? Is there a way to separate/extract the original media from a Library?

I find that libraries that grow very large can have an impact on FCP X performance. My practice is to use external media (Leave Files in Place) unless I'm working with others. I also transcode as needed after import, rather than optimize (everything) at import. Both practices keep the library size down.

How can I make a copy of a song, change the album cover of the copy, but have the original stay the same?

So, this is going to take some time to explain, but I'm going to try it.
I'm trying to build a compilation playlist with songs from other albums. I want to change the name of the album in the info of the song and the cover for the new playlist. When I do this, the original copy changes as well. I don't want this to happen. Is it possible to avoid this?

Frankly I would just make your album a playlist and live with the original album names in the individual items.
If you really want to name them individually you will have to make copies of the files and add them a second time to iTunes. One easy way to do this is drag the tracks you want to a different drive (it could just be a flash drive). It will make copies of the files on that other drive. Now drag them back to an empty playlist window. That way you will be able to keep them separate from the original track until you can rename them. In dragging back to iTunes it will put a copy in the iTunes folders so you will end up with two copies of the files, the second one for editing.

One site two separate menus ... is this possible?

I am new to Muse and trying to create a new site.
I have created a landing page and i want people to be able to navigate from the landing page to my other websites. To navigate to an external site is easy. But, what if I am essentially creating a site within a site? One with its own menu etc. How do I go about this?

If you need two separate navigation bars in the Muse site, you may choose to create a manual menu.

Communication between separate .fla files?

I want to create a site which has a separate navigation menu
.fla file so the menu anims do'nt refresh everytime a new scene
loads... Is there a way I can communicate between the separate
files? I am using the loadMovieNum script to load the menu into the
main site.

Well, first of all, make sure you don't get .fla files
confused with .swf files. .fla files don't do anything, they are
the authoring files for the Flash application, the .swf files are
the one you watch in the Flash Player(in a browser).
If you are loading a .swf into another .swf using
loadMovieNum, you can access it by using the _level1(or whatever
level you loaded it into). _level0 is always your main movie.
That being said, most people prefer to use
MovieClip.loadMovie instead, as it gives you more control, and
loadMovieNum is a little more prone to problems.

Skin Navigation Bar Issues

In my adobe captivate projects I have at least 5 slides with video. Reversing the videos or scrolling forward using the the navigation bar head is very clunky. Is there a way to have a separate navigation bar in each slide to allow more precise movement within the project?

Hello, I’m new to dreamweaver so please excuse me for
what may be a stupid question. I have previously used golive, now
using dw cs3. I have created a site based on a template file
everything working fine. I was wondering if there was any way
possible of having the navigation bar (created in the template)
appear in the down or visited state when you entered a specific
page or do I have to insert a separate navigation bar in each
individual page. Can someone guide me if this is possible or has
anyone any suggestions? Thanks

Bug with template + navigation bar

Greetings...
I have created a site with DW CS3 and like many others before
me, i can't edit a navigation bar added to the editable area of a
page that uses my template.
I can create one and save everything but i can't modify
afterward.
I always get the "making this change would require changing
code that is locked by a template..." window.

Can i separate an event

Can I cut an event into two event to eliminate one because I do not have enough space on my Mac book pro.

Merge or split events
You can merge (combine) two or more events in the Libraries list (for example, if the footage they contain is very closely related). You can also split a single event into multiple events if you find an event is getting unmanageable because of the number of clips it contains.
In the Libraries list, do one of the following:
To merge events: Select an event and drag it to the event you want to merge it with, or select the events you wish to merge and choose File > Merge Events.
To split a single event: Create the new events you need, and then move the clips or projects you want to separate from the original event to the new events.

Link photo to personnel number
Transaction code OAAD
Click on the Create Store and Assign button. Enter Business Object PREL and Document Type HRICOLFOTO. Click on create(F8).
Enter the Personnel Number of the employee you want to link the photo to. Choose also the infotype that you wish the photo to be displayed on (not sure how relevant this is. It works if you use 0002 but should also work if left blank. Suspect is only relevant if you wanted to store different photos for different infotypes)
Click on Continue.
Enter the path and filename of the photo. The dropdown will allow you to navigate to the appropriate directory.
SAP will notify you that the Stored document is created successfully and you end up with something like:
If you get an error 401 to do with missing authorisations, then try and redo the above step. It often only happens the first time you try and load the photo.

This iView displays the employees in the managers area of responsibility, that is, employees who report either directly or indirectly to the manager. The display is based on the SAP application component Organizational Management.

DW CS3 Spry Question

I replaced the navigation I originally did with a spry bar. Works and looks great on a Mac but in IE8 the dropdown and spacing is very different.

Multiple running queries at the same time

Hi!
I looked around (and RTM) for this but didn't find anything, so I'm asking here.
I have quite a few long running queries (data loading and such things, warehousing stuff), and I need to be able to run multiple queries/statements at the same time. In TOAD I can do this, start a procedure and while it is running I can do SQL statements in another session tab (it supports threaded sessions - it starts queries in their own background thread/session).
When I start a long running procedure or query in SQL Developer I can not do anything until the procedure execution finishes. Is there any way (setting/preference) to enable SQL Developer to be able to run multiple queries at the same time?
I really would like to move away from TOAD, but this is a major showstopper for me.

This post is going to be a little longer, but I have to clarify things out.
I did not mean to throw any wild accusations, because I did my fair share of RTFM and searching the help. I can tell you that if you put any of these in the help search box:

you won't find anything usefull, the article that comes closest, is this:
"Sharing of Connections
By default, each connection in SQL Developer is shared when possible. For example, if you open a table in the Connections navigator and two SQL Worksheets using the same connection, all three panes use one shared connection to the database. In this example, a commit operation in one SQL Worksheet commits across all three panes. If you want a dedicated session, you must duplicate your connection and give it another name. Sessions are shared by name, not connection information, so this new connection will be kept separate from the original."
It does not mention any spawning of non-shared connections from the current one, nor it does mention using a accelerator key combo. But since there could be written something about it, I guess you could call it a documentation bug, because it does not provide any clue to this functionality. The help is definitely of no help in this case. As you can see, I do not throw accusations without trying to find out something first. I guess if someone is not as deep into SQL Developer as you are, there is no way for him/her to know this.
OK, I tried your suggestion, and (sadly) it does not work as I suppose it should.
Here's what I did:
- start a new connection, and enter the following code in SQL Worksheet:

As you can see, it doesn't do much besides holding the connection busy for a while when executed.
- start a new non-shared connection from the first one using CTRL-SHIFT-N (as you suggested) and put the following statement in the new SQL Worksheet (with "__1" appended to connection name)
select sysdate from dual;
- go to the first SQL Worksheet and execute the procedure
- while the procedure is executing, go to the second SQL Worksheet and hit F9.
The sysdate is returned as soon as the first SQL Worksheet finishes and not any sooner. It may run in separate session, but the result is not returned before the other session is finished doing what it is doing. I guess the correct behaviour would be to return the sysdate immediately.
I verified this behaviour repeating it 3 times starting with a new instance of SQL Developer, each time connecting to another schema and spawning the new non-shared session. The database used was Oracle 10.2.0.3 EE on RHEL 4 UPD3.
The concurrent execution lacks concurrency. The statements might be executed concurently on the database (i did not went the extra mile to verfiy this), but the returning of results is just not independent of other sessions. To the end user this is as much concurrent as it is serial execution.
I hope developers get this issue straightened out soon, as I said, I'd love to move away from Toad, but I'll have to wait until they fix this out.
Is there anything else that can be done to make it behave correctly?

CRM-Web UI-Filtering transaction types based on Workcenter

Hi,
I have the following requirement:
There are 2 Business roles and these have their separate navigation bar profile.But the 2 navigation bar profile have the same
workcenters assigned.
Now the requirement is when the user logs on with Business role1 , on clicking on create link of opportunity in the left navigation
bar , only the standard tx. types should get displayed for creation in the create pop-up.
And when the user logs on with Business role2 , on clicking on create link of opportunity in the left navigation
bar , only the 'Z' (custom) tx. types should get displayed for creation in the create pop-up.
Can any one please comment whether this can be achieved?

I am of the opinion that a restriction from the security side, based on the PFCG roles assigned to the respective Business Role could be one way of achieving your requirement. There could be a better solution to this, but hope this helps. If you found any better solution, please update this thread.
