Separate Number Pad for small keyboard?

I am days or maybe hours away from ordering my new 27" iMac but ...
Does Apple make, or support, a separate number pad that will work with the small wireless keyboard? (It would be a good thing for the MacBooks too.)
I like to use a number pad for some things, I also prefer a cordless keyboard. Those are mutually incompatible choices at the moment. I see separate number pads for PCs (Logitech for one) would one of these work with the new iMac? It would save space for me except a few hours a month when I need it.

FYI - This topic discusses a separate Bluetooth numeric keypad (from Microsoft) that appears to work with Macs.

  • Number pad for wireless keyboard

There are two places where you can type in numbers on your wireless keyboard, across the top and on the right, when I have tried to type in numbers on the right side it will not appear on the computer, I have made sure that number lock is not on and the numbers still fail to appear on the monitor when I type them.

  • Separate number ranges for GR against PO and GR against Production Order

    All SAP Gurus,
Is it possible to have Separate number ranges (for Material Documents as well as for FI Documents) for GR against PO and for GR against Production Order?
    Regards,

    Hello Anusha,
Basically you need to maintain the confirmation control key in the Info record or the vendor master in order get the option of doing an inbound delivery and not a rough GR. in info record in purchasing screen and also the same screen in vendor master.
The above is a permanent setting for a vendor, if you want to do it temporarily, you need to go to the confirmations tab in PO item details and change the control key in there.
I hope this is what you are looking for

  • Number pad for dialing not working

I just received a replacement Tour 9630.  When I activated phone and set up BES it somehow deactivated my number keys for dialing a phone number.  Now unless I place a call from my Contacts list I can't dial a number.  Thoughts?

There are a couple of ways you can set up the device.  You can have it "dial from home screen" where you just hit keys and it begins to dial.  Or you can launch applications by hitting a shortcut key ("b" for browser, "n" for BBM, etc.)  If it is set to launch shortcuts then you can simply hit the green phone button and then dial your number.   It just depends on what the option is set to.  How to set the option depends on the OS version on your device.  Do you know if it's running OS 5 or OS 6?

  • Plantwise separate number range for Production order

    Hello SAP Expert,
I my project our client require plantwise number range for Production order, order Confirmation for indentifiction purpose .
Please give way to do this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Yogesh.

    Hi,
As per standard SAP not possible because Order types are maintain at Client level and not at Plant Level, but as Sukender said use Different Order Types for different Plants. But I guess user will face one problem often during Manual Production / Process Order Creation , and that is if they select wrong order type then face a problem like no Order type dependent Parameter set for required Plant.

  • Replacement feet/pads for M7803 keyboard

I've recently inherited 2 M7803 keyboards and have taken them apart and cleaned them up. They are both working well but I need to find a source for the anti-skid rubber pads/feet that stick to the bottom of the keyboard. I would prefer to replace them with the original items, but will also take some suggestions for other types or homemade versions.
    Thanks!

Go to a home supplies store and get items from there. I have an assortment of adhesive rubber and silicone non-skid things from home supply stores.

  • TS3048 Number pad on extended keyboard stopped working after updating to OSX 10.9.1. Testing keyboard on old system still works perfectly.

Expanded keyboard stopped working correctly after updating my system from OSX 10.8.6 to OSX 10.9.1 and now 10.9.2. The keypad numbers do not work although the numbers along the top of the keyboard work fine. Moving the keyboard back to computer still using 10.8.6 and it works fine.

See if zapping the PRAM works.  Check out KB Article:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379 Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM

  • WoW- Keyboard and/or number pad.

I have recently started playing World of Warcraft and I am looking at control options for my MacBook.
I tried plugging a keyboard I used for my PC into the USB on my MB and the number pad would not work. So my first question is do I need a special keyboard for my Mac?
Second, is anyone aware of a good external number pad for a Mac?
Lastly, does anyone have any favourable "setups (controllers, keyboards) " they use to control WoW.

Hmmm, sorry - I do use iMovie, but only on my iMac. You would probably get better answers if you post that question in the iMovie forum or the iPad forum.

for iMovie, you need to choose which one you want:

  • Keyboard number pad not recognized through bootcamp windows 7

Running windows 7 through bootcamp, the number pad on my keyboard does not respond.

I had the same thing as you (that my BT mouse & keyboard were working but then after a while they started to act up -mouse freezing on&off, keys sticking-).
In my case the 'before' and 'after' was actually running the setup on the Bootcamp Utility disk that contains all the Bootcamp drivers. There must be a rogue driver on there that messed up my system. I ended up doing a reinstall and only installing the bluetooth drivers (that are also on the same Utlity disk, but in the $WinPEDriver$ folder. This at least worked for me.
However, by doing so I did not get the handy Bootcamp utility in the lower left corner of Windows that allows me to conveniently reboot and switch from Win8 to MacOS. I am trying to figure out if I can install that utility separately without all the drivers being automatically installed as well

  • Using the Number Pad on my non-Apple bluetooth keyboard on MBP Retina

Hi, I was able to easily connect my bluetooth keyboard to my MBP Retina, but my Number Pad doesnt seem to work. I was trying to find an option to allow the numpad in keyboard settings, but couldnt find anything. I was hoping somebody would know what to do so that I could use my Number Pad for punching in numbers on Excel, online, etc. It's a huge pain to use the straight line of keys above the letters and I'm used to using the number pad. FYI, I'm using a Logitech MX 5500 Keyboard, if that makes any difference. Any thoughts are appreciated!

    All right,
Not really clear yet but try either pressing the two shift key for a few seconds (or pressing many times both at the same time) or pressing shift with space. It worked with me. Funy that the problem only happens in excel.

  • Quality Number Pad

Does anyone know of a 'quality' number pad for use with a MacBook?
There seem to be a few wireless number pads out there - but none of them match the Apple build quality / aesthetics. Given the increasing number of 'professionals' using Apple products it seems an obvious ommission from Apple's own product line.
Just in case anyone from Apple is reading you may want to throw in a few user definable function keys on to any such number pad as any old school PC users would doubtless be keen to have regularly used Excel function keys (F2 for Edit, F4 to fix references, etc - rather than the 'twister' gymnastics needed to perform those functions in Excel for Mac)....

Is there a reason you don't just by the Aluminum Keyboard? It has a number pad built-in and it's also a very nice full-sized keyboard, which neither of the Mac Laptops have (though the MacBook Pro does come very close). It's also quite handy and allows you to get something like a Griffin Elevator to lift your laptop off the table. Better for your view-angle and better for the laptop's cooling.
Otherwise, I think the Optimus is selling a number pad, which is rather sexy.

  • Number lock in Bluetooth keyboard

    Hi
I am using a mac mini with OS X 10.4 with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Both the devices are well paired to Mac mini. But ever since I bought it I wasn't able to use the number pad in the keyboard for numbers.
I have tried all the help options but still it isn't doing the job. Whenever I press the number pad the mouse cursor moves up, down, right, left and diagonal. The number '5' key works like a mouse click. Once I press the number keys then mouse and rest of the key board doesn't work till I press 5 to select some item.
Please somebody explain me how to rectify this
    Regards
    C. Badrakumar

    FOUND THE SOLUTION !!!
Turn off "Mouse Keys" in Universal Access. I turned them on a few weeks ago, and didn't realize what it was for; it's for using the numeric keypad in place of a mouse, and renders the numeric keypad worthless for input of numbers.
Go to "System Preferences", then "Universal Access", then "Mouse". Mouse Keys should be OFF.

  • Satellite P500 - After BIOS update the number pad isn't working anymore

I just got a Satellite P500 and am running Windows 7. I downloaded all of the latest drivers and updated the system bios to version 1.70 (from Toshiba's support website). Now, my number pad on the keyboard is not working.
The numlock light is on and when I hit the "6" key on the number pad, it turns the light on/off but the behavior of the other keys does not change whether it is on or off. The "-" key enters a "6" but none of the other keys (except "enter" does anything.
I removed the keyboard driver and restarted to re-install the keyboard driver but that had not effect. The keyboard did work for a few days after I flashed the bios but seems to have stopped since I started using a USB mouse. I tried uninstalling the USB mouse driver but that did not do anything either (it was a Logitech driver).
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

I'm having this exact same issue, Did the BIOS update, which fixed the problem for Vista X64, formatted the machine to windows 7, Number pad keys except 6 and - Register as the Fn Button, Bringing up the function shortcuts display when pressed in windows, recovered from 7 to Vista X64 using Built in recovery partition, Problem still exactly the same. i have reset BIOS to defaults twice now, which has not resolved the issue. the next step will be to reflash the bios with the update again to see if this will fix the issue as it did once before. Laptop Model P500/025 Or Part number PSPE8A-025002
*EDIT: I reflashed the BIOS with 1.70 Again and the number pad is back to normal. Seems like an extreme fix for a silly problem. Every time you format you have to Reflash your bios, risky no?*

  • Logitech Cordless Number Pad???

How do I set up Logitech's Cordless Number Pad for Notebooks on my Leopard iMac 24"? It's a USB plug and play (although the packaging specifies it's for the Windows system).
The firs time I plugged it in, Leopard put of a graphic trying to identify the "keyboard" which instructed me to press the key to the right of the left shift button. No such button on a number pad.
Further pushing of the pad's reset and the usb receiver connect button produce no results.
The Logitech support site is no help, although there are few others posting the same question.
Does this have anything to do with the LCC drivers, and do I need them?
    Any ideas?

Because every device is different, that's why. (and bluetooth vs usb probably doesn't matter either way in this case). In addition, I've seen lots of Logitech or Microsoft USB keyboards that "work" - but not every feature. For example, dedicated function buttons for things like "launch media player" or "volume" may not work, because they're predicated on a SOFTWARE DRIVER communicating between the keyboard and the system. No driver means that only the basic keys will work, not extended keys that do specific functions.
Just because a USB mouse or keyboard works, doesn't mean automatically the numeric keypad will work. My guess is that keypad that doesn't work, doesn't work because it needs a driver present to communicate input from the keypad to the system.

You're covered for hardware for year, but they'll want a credit card number in case it's software.
Have you gone to universal access in system prefs to be sure you haven't accidentally enabled something like Mouse Keys or Sticky keys?
