Separate wallpaper and home screen background?

I was wondering if it is possible to have the lockscreen background and the home screen wallpaper set as separate images, or if it is possible to switch them separately? I currently have 2 separate images from when I switched my phone from my 3G, but I want to change the lockscreen wallpaper while keeping the bubble background on my home screen.

Hi,
Find an image you want to use then tap the icon in the lower left of the window. This brings up the options. Chose wallpaper then choose lock screen.

Hoe can I increase choices for wallpaper and home screen?

What happened to the cool B&W choices? What happened to easy access to my pics in iCloud and Dropbox as wallpaper and home screen choices?

Are you sure you have the 3GS and not the 3G. The problem you are describing sounds like you have a 3G only.

Lock and Home screen backgrounds

Just updated to iphone OS 401. In previous 3.x, the lock screen was one image, the home screen was just black background. Is there a way to set that again?

Thanks, I already found that. I was just trying to get the background back to black only behind the apps while leaving the lock screen the same image as before. There is lots to choose from, just not a way to select nothing (in hopes that it would return to black).

Why can't iPod touch 2G use home screen background wallpaper?

It really didn't make any sense. Everyone wants to update their iPod touch to iOS 4 just because they want to use Multitasking and home screen wallpaper. But Apple just don't let all the iPod touch 2G users use these features. I know that the touch 2G hardware is not powerful enough for the multitasking ability and it's reasonable, but just why can't we just replace the home screen background by a picture?

Reports have quoted that Steve Jobs said that icon performance was degraded too badly with wallpaper for Apple to feel comfortable including that feature.

Can't change home screen background

I have downloaded and installed iOS 4 software and have an iPhone 3G. When I try to select a picture to save as wallpaper it doesn't give the option to set it as my home screen background. Is this feature not available for iPhone 3G? If it is available how do you get it to work?

I have the same iPhone 3G (the original iPhone) with the new 4.0 Software.
You should be able to save your own picture as iPhone Wallpaper.
Go to your iPhone Photos, iPhone Pictures. Tap the picture you wanted. On the bottom left of your iPhone screen, tap the boxed arrow icon. tap "Use as Wallpaper".
2nd way to set iPhone wallpaper: First make sure the Picture is in your Photos on your iPhone. Then go to your Settings app, Wallpaper, iPhone pictures. Then you should see all your pictures that are saved on your iPhone 3G. Tap on the picture you want as your Wallpaper. Tap Set.

Basically I am trying to use a site that has an unregistered digital certificate. That might be the case with your campus login too. Often logins use a digital cert. to hide the password in transit, and often they use an unregistered one to avoid the cost of getting a real cert.
You can check this by using a laptop or something that won't crash and checking the certificate on the login screen by double-clicking the padlock icon in the bottom-right of the browser when it comes up.

Ipad2 upgrade io6 and blink apple sign and home screen issue.

my ipad2 started acting strange after i upgraded to io6. It now display alternating the apple start screen and home screen (blinking).

See if this helps at all. If not, you may have to restore your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

My lock and home screen button has just suddenly stopped working, i have looked on YouTube, unscrewed the back and tried the methods that work for other people but it hasn't worked.

It's a hardware issue. If it's out of warranty, you can get it replaced but there's an out of warranty fee associated.

Iphone- I would like my lock and home screens to rotate

I would like my lock and home screens to rotate on my Iphone 5. Since I charge it at work and the charge port is at the bottom I have to lay it on it's side in my cradle. I'm constantly having to rotate it to view emails and texts. Is this possible?

E72 Application shortcuts and home screen applicat...

Hey guys,
I`ve got a weird issue on my E72.
Whichever theme I use,the application shortcuts and home screen shortcuts(wifi search,calendar,chatsetup...etc) are keep highlighted
on homescreen.
I installed ovi store update and polar lotus screensaver from ovi store yesterday.
Since then my theme has changed and the two type of the shortcuts on my homescreen
remain highlighted,whatever I do with them.
I uninstalled the polar lotus scrsv.
I tried all of my themes and default ones,but same everywhere.
I use a black and blue(neon) blue theme.
It used to look like full black screen and blue icons,the name of the apps,and shortcuts also written by blue.
Now the apps shortcuts on the top and also the home screen apps are highlighted with light brown.
I guess the polar lotus scrsv has left some files or configurations after itself,and keeps effecting
the display or themes.
I tried to uninstall and install again all of the themes,but still no luck.
Has anyone experienced something like this before?
Any idea to get back the normal lookout of the themes wtihout highlighting anything(unless the theme contains highlighting functions)?

Wallpaper and Locked screen Photos

How can I resize the photos on the wallpaper and locked screens?
I have photos send to me in either iMsg or Whatsapp and the photos need to be resized when I want to use them as a wallpaper or locked screen.

Use a photo editor, or a third-party app like Insta-Fix, which works very well to resize photos for use as wallpaper on i-devices. You can also take a screenshot of the photo and use that as your wallpaper.

Android isn't high-tech. Android is nothing but a poor copy of Apple's UI as with Windows being a poor copy of Apple's computer GUI.
As with Windows on a computer, Android is a swiss cheese for security mobile OS not to mention being a fragmented mess that will only get worse when Apple's patents are enforced. Jailbreaking or hacking iOS removes all the built-in security making it as insecure as Android.
