Separating Into Tracks or Scenes II

Hello All......
I guess I'm running into problems I didn't anticipate.  I'm trying to import video files from my JVC Everio Gz-MG330 to my PC where I may be able to separate a 45 minute video into tracks.  The video is of a talent show and I would like to separate it into the individual acts.  My issue is in transferring the video files from my camera.  I created a file in Pictures and named it.  I then plugged in my camera via the USB, started it up by opening the monitor screen and selected Playback mode.  At first the files transferred, even though I didn't have the ability to choose which files to transfer; it just transferred the whole thing.  The files, however, were in .mod extension.  I thought they would be in .mpeg format.  I was a bit mistaken, and now I am unable to do anything with them.  The files are still on the camera, though, and I can start from scratch if someone can show this newbie what to do.  I believe it must be pretty simple to accomplish if I can be pointed into the right direction.

The typical way to handle the .mod file extension is to right click the video file on the hard drive save location, select rename, and just change the file extension from .mod to .mpg. That non re-encoding technique works great for most.
If not, there is always MPEG Streamclip and converting the .mod files to DV AVI and then bringing the DV AVI versions into Premiere Elements.

  • Separating Into Tracks or Scenes

I have taken about 45 minutes worth of video from a talent show on a JVC Everio 330 digital camera.  I would like to separate the video according to the individual acts.  Since I am a "raw newbie" to this, I need to know if Premier Elements 7 can do this and how.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Others will probably post on this topic. What version of Premiere Elements are you using? Assuming Premiere Elements 7.....
So, I will just add some comments based on what could be one approach.
From what I have read, your JVC Everio 330 digital camera is recording MPEG2 (640 x 480) to the camera's hard drive. Assuming that there are no file extensions problems with the video, I would import the video into Premiere Elements from the saved computer hard drive location, using Premiere Elements Get Media/Files & Folders (Project Preset in New Project Dialog = NTSC DV Standard). Then in the program's Preview Window use the InOut points to trim the video. You can also save as "subclips" to make a trim a part of the project's media.
I never did try the following, but you could look into bringing the video to the Project View Media, right clicking the file there, and selecting Scene Detect. The intent here is to have this feature split the video into scenes based on content. The process may be time consuming and I am not sure how clean a job it would do in spliting the scenes as you want them.
    Just some thoughts.

  • Is there any way of undoing a shuffle? The CDs I downloaded to iTunes have all been shuffled. As most of these are classical, it is inappropriate to have them separated into songs that play any old time. Can I restore them to the original albums?

Is there any way of undoing a shuffle? The CDs I downloaded to iTunes have all been shuffled into individual 'songs'. As most of these are classical and folk, it is inappropriate to have them separated into songs that play any old time (ie, a movement from Beethoven's 5th symphony followed by a folk song followed by one excerpt from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, etc. Can I restore them all to the original albums and make sure the shuffle doesn't happen again?
    Thanks!

Thanks! That has worked, but only partially - there are still some Beethovens mixed in with the Vivaldis. I'm sure I installed these as total albums.
I have noticed that too from time to time, I generally move the files into the correct folder and fix the index in itunes when one won't open, occasionally.

  • When I import a text file(comma separated )into a numbers spread sheet all the data goes into one column. Why does the text not go into separate columns based on the commas.

When I import a text file(comma separated) into a numbers spreadsheet all the data goes into one column instead of individual columns based on the comma separators.  Excel allows you to do this during the import..  Is there a way to accomplish this in numbers without opening it in Excel and the importing into Numbers.

Your user info says iPad. This is the OS X Numbers forum. Assuming you are using OS X… Be sure the file is named with a .csv suffix.
(I don't have an iPad, so I don't know the iOS answer.)

  • How to get Guided procedures DC into track

    Hi All,
I am trying to implement the functionality mentioned in the thread
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50d74ada-0c01-0010-07a8-8c118d408e59?overridelayout=true
But it says in order to implement that I need to import Guided Procedures related DCS  and I dont know which Software component consists of all the DCS which i need to check in and import into track so that when i open sap.com_SAP-EU_1 component i can see all the GP related dcs.
Plz let me know the solution
    Thanks

    Hi Bala,
SAPPCUI_GP is the SCA which contains the related GP dc's.

  • Merging video clip separated into two clips in camera

Working with a Canon 5D mk3 and a single clip was separated into two clips by the camera. Trying to merge them back into a single clip so that I can then merge into a multiclip arrangment with footage from second camera and off camera audio. Have followed the following process from support:
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=29%2 6section=4%26tasks=true
When dragging the selection back into the Browser, a single file is not created but rather the two separate files.
    Suggestions?
    Thank you.

The only way for FCP to stitch separate shots is if it is shot in a format that is supported by the Log and Transfer function, and if the camera is designed to merge the clips into one shot via the metadata.  For example, P2 breaks up the footage into 4GB chunks, due to the P2 card format's 4GB file size limit. AVCHD will do the same thing, as will XDCAM.  But the metadata recorded by the camera informs the NLE that they are essentially one clip, so when you convert via Log and Transfer, FCP (And Avid, and Adobe) will stitch them together.
But this only works with supported formats.  H.264 from DSLRs...not supported...by any NLE.  Even though you can L&T Canon 5D Mark 2 footage (Mark 3 is unsupported, as it is a newer camera, and FCP was discontinued before it came out), it still keeps the media separate.  Sorry...that's the drawback to shooting DSLRs.  The ones that shoot AVCHD...will be stitched, because they have advanced metadata support.
FCP-X will multiclip these separate files, however. Because it doesn't have issue with broken clips. It's the best multicam function of any NLE.

  • How can long lines of code be cut / separated into multiple short

In Java, How can long lines of code be cut / separated into multiple short lines?
    Example
    System.out.printf( "%d\t%d\t%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\t\t%s\n", arrayIndex ,  part[ arrayIndex ], name[arrayIndex], units[arrayIndex], price[arrayIndex], units[arrayIndex] * price[arrayIndex], total[ arrayIndex ]   );Thanks

    System.out.printf( "%d\t%d\t%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\t\t%s\n",
    arrayIndex ,
    part[ arrayIndex ],
    name[arrayIndex],
    units[arrayIndex],
    price[arrayIndex],
    units[arrayIndex] * price[arrayIndex],
total[ arrayIndex ]   );P.S. It looks to me like you have an array for each attribute of something. This is not OO and you should consider creating a class holding the information about each 'Part' or whatever it is. You will then just need a collection of Parts.

  • Breaking concert into tracks.

Hey all, if I have a Dead concert that I downloaded as a podcast, how can I use Garageband to cut it into tracks and send it back to Itunes so I can listen to any song I want. I've been messing around with it for the last hour, and can't figure it out. Thanks!

(I have GB '08 so I'm not fully sure what features you may have or not).
I don't know if Podcast Markers will create separate tracks for iTunes. It will create separate tracks if you export to CD.
BUT, you can use the Cycle Region. Wherever the Cycle Region begins and ends, that's all that will get exported to iTunes. Then from iTunes you name, etc. each track.
(What I usually do first is do a Split between each track, then make sure Control>Snap to Grid is checked, and it makes it much easier to get the Cycle Region to line up).

  • I have an old Frank Sinatra CD called duets which I have imported but it has separated into several different albums one per track? How can I merge into the one album?s

Can somebody advise how to remerge what has been imported as several different tracks into the original Album format?

If you select the tracks all together in iTunes/ Songs then go to File/Get info you will be asked "Are you sure you want to edit information for multiple items?" Go ahead and you can make them into an album, putting in the artist name, etc.

  • Export file with the project separated into the different tracks

I have created a project consisting of about 18 imported tracks (bought from Itunes). Is it possible to have the imported components separated in the export file from GarageBand so it would be possible to jump between them?

    Hi
I wil suggest mapping the path based on a common location is the best way and then map the same logically in the Upload method
If you are using Citrix then it becomes all the more easy to have a commmon location

  • Separating stereo tracks already on a timeline

I'm running CC 2014. I recorded all of my audio using a stereo track - there's a lav in the left and a shotgun mic in the right. I need to be able to adjust the volume of the channels independently.
My problem is that I imported all of my footage using the "use file" settings in the audio preferences panel in Premiere, and then I began editing.
I know that I should have imported the footage using the "mono" settings in the audio preferences panel, and when I import footage into my project after changing my settings to mono, my audio comes in as two separate tracks, which is what I want.
However, I can't find a way to separate the channels of stereo tracks that I've already imported and begun editing with. This is a huge problem, as I've already edited a 30 minute timeline and don't want to start over.
My question: is there a simple way to separate the audio channels of a stereo track already on a timeline into two mono tracks?
If not, is there a sensible workaround that doesn't involve shifting things around on the timeline and replacing clips one by one?
    Thanks for your help.

I always recommend (and use) Richard's method, but you don't necessarily need to duplicate tracks to use it. If your intention is to use EITHER the left or right source audio at any given time and not combine them, then simply apply FILL LEFT or FILL RIGHT to the different cut up audio clips. For instance with a wedding video, Left audio is Podium Mic and Right is Groom's Mic. You would not want to mix/hear both at once - it is one or the other, depending on what it happening in a given scene. So just "activate" the source you want to hear for each clip.
I use a short audio crossfade between audio clips when switching between L and R source and this pretty much eliminates any noticeable jump in the audio. For footage that has not yet been edited (one long clip), use the Razor tool and just make cuts where you want to switch sources. Apply Fill effect to each segment as appropriate, with crossfade applied at cuts. Simple and clean results.

  • When importing songs from a cd into itunes, the songs get separated into multiple albums instead of one.  How do I fix this problem?

I recently tried to import a cd that I got into itunes.  When it imported, instead of being one album by one artist, it created multiple ablums by the same artist.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem to bring all the files into one album by the same artist?

Generally all you need to do is fill in an appropriate Album Artist. For more details see my article on Grouping Tracks Into Albums, in particular the topic One album, too many covers.

  • Importing ESS/MSS Components into Track takes a very long time

    Hi All,
I am trying to set up a track for ESS/MSS (have followed the cok book for ESS and NWDI). I am stuck @ the stage where I import the individual ESS, MSS source code into the track. Its taking fairly a large amount of time to build each single DC something like 195 minutes and more. This is causing the import to take forever, almost 3 days and MSS import is yet running.
I have done the same thing before and it tool under 2 days for all to be done. Any inputs to make this fast?
    Thanks,
    GLM

    GLM,
even we were facing the same problemm sometime back and our basis team did something(I dont remember exactly) like clearing the database logs etc
you may want to check that option
    Thanks

  • Adding a 2D image into a 3D scene

hey guys probably a very fast simple question.
I would like to add a 2D image to my 3D scene, so is there an existing object ready for use, or do i have to create my own quadArray and apply texture with the image?
    thanks

Combine all the PDFs into a single document. Use the place multipage PDF script to place all the pages of the PDF. Add the logo to the master page. Export a new PDF.
Or...create an InDesign book out of the INDD files. Add the logo to a master page, sync the master to the book and save.

  • BPM - "Copy local DC into Track"

    Query has moved to NWDI.

    Hi Dev,
Understood your problem. Please follow the below mentioned procedure to resolve the issue.
Assuming that you have a Same Process Composer DC in your Local Environment which is able to build and deploy successfully.
    1) Open your NWDS-Development Infrastructure Perspective, and expand the  Local Development--> My Components
    2) Here right-click Copy your BPM Process Composer DC that you desire to migrate into a track.
    3) Now, Load your development Configurations in your NWDS.
    4) Expand Track --> and just Left click on the Track SC. (Sometimes when you right click the Paste option is disabled)
    5) Now, Right-Click the Track SC and Paste the BPM-DC here.
    6) Once the DC is copied inside the Track SC, then select the same BPM DC inside the Track.
    7) Open the "Permissions" tab and remove the "MyComponent" SC persmission and instead add the Track SC to the permission list.
    8) Now, open the Dependencies tab and click on "Resolve All" button.
(Here, If you get an Error like "not all the dependencies could be resolved" then your your SC is missing the build-time dependencies.
Please refer to the 3rd reply from me in thread Re: Broken Dc's in CBS for resolving the issue.
    9) Once all the dependencies are resolved, you have to right the BPM DC and select "Create Project Structure" option.
    10) After Creating the project structure Right click the BPM DC in track and from the Context menu click on "Add to Source Control" option.
    11) As a result of this action you'll be ask to create an Activity. Create it and Check-In the activity from Open Activities view.
    12) After successful Check-In operation, Activate the Activity from Activation view.
    13) After successful Activation operation, Release the Activity from Transport view.
    14) from CMS Web UI, inside Transport Studio import the activity into Consolidation.
    15) Ans finally Assemble the SCA inside Assembly tab.
I Hope this will resolve your issue.
