Separating the SLD Systems DEV and QA

Hello All,
We want to separate the SLD.
Currently DEV,QA and Production is connecting existing SLD. we have created new sld.
we want connect the DEV and QA to new sld system.
Please suggest the configuration.

Hi,
go to Transaction SLDAPICUST in the DEV and QA system, Change the entries there, and give the entry for new SLD. Also look out for the services running in SM59 (RFC destinations)
You have to check in Visual Admin also that all SLD parameters are pointing to new SLD. Ask basis to look into this, will be helpful

TDC means Transport Domain Controller
it is the system which contains common transport directory and which administer the all the systems taking part in TMS.

Hi Irfan,
SLD is configured using SMSY transaction. You can use SMSY transaction and there you can see what are all the systems that have been added to the Solution Manager System Landscape.
Different nodes are available for products, systems, logical components in the system landscape.

I have a hp C410 all-in-one series printer. When I updated to 10.8.1 it was no longer supported. HP told me to go to the Apple system updates and download an installation program. I can't find that program in my Apple updates file.

Reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it."

SPDD and SPAU Request from Multiple Source System (Dev and Quality) ??

Hi all,
We have one query related with SPDD and SPAU automatic adjustment during Upgrade.
We done SPDD in our Development systems and same is taken by SAPup during Quality Sytem PREPARE step from umauto.lst file.
But we adjusted some object in Quality System as the SPDD request from Develpopment does not able to adjust all the request. We created one request for the Same in Quality System and the that also got added to umauto.lst file.
Now during our during Mock run Upgrade, PREPARE ask to take only one system for SPDD request with following options
1. missing systems
2. Development (DEV)
3. Quality (QAS)
4. None
But we need both transport of SPDD from DEV and QAN to be imported to Mock run Systems till Production.
any suggestion to fix this ?

Hi,
Give the DEV requests for SPDD, and proceed. During DDIC_700 you will come across the DD objects which need to be corrected as you have done in QAS. here you need to open the system and correct them manually. Then only you should proceed. Be very carefull during this activity, as you may loose data if not done correctly.

If you want to create BW and SEM inside XI
you don't have to :
cause they're defined as products:
SAP BW     2.0B, 2.1C, 3.0A, 3.0B, 3.1 CONTENT
SAP SEM     2.0B, 3.0A, 3.0B, 3.1A, 3.1B, 3.2, 3.5, 4.0
you only have to define WAS fo those systems :
you nedd to have WAS of SEM and BW
(instances of those servers ) created as technical systems:

It is possible to transpor the logical system definition and the RFC

Hello,
To define the back-end logical system we need to link the RFC destination SM59. If it is not possible to TRANSPORT the RFC destination from the development system to the quality one, I need to create the quality back-end logical system without transport.
In SRM there is a lot customizing in which we need to assing the back-end logical system. If I can not transport the back-end logical system definition from development to quality I must "re-create" a lot of customizing ditectly in quality (and later in production!)
This is the normal way to work in SRM? Do I have to create the RFC destination, the back-end logical system, etc. in each eviroment (development / quality / training / acceptance / production) or there is a way to transport this?

Hi Marta,
transporting in SRM is different from the other SAP areas. There are several
objects, which are normally customizing, but in SRM not part of the transportable
objects. You have to do quite a lot of settings manually in QA as well in PROD.
Start the discussion early to get the needed authorizations for doing the settings.

Why is my hard drive full when I only have the operating system loaded and nothing else? No pics, music, nothing...It's the 60 Gig hard drive on the air built in late 2010.

Why is my hard drive full when I'm only running the operating system and nothing else is loaded? No music, pics, nothing! I understand the hard drive is small at 60 gig, but I can't believe the os would take up that much space.

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB free on the startup volume for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved. ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To really see everything, you have to run it as root. Back up all data now. Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways: ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.) ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens. ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid. After installing ODS in the Applications folder, drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. When you're done with it, quit it and also quit Terminal.

Does iCloud backup the operating system? and how do I back up the operating system.

I have heard you can backup the operating system on iCloud. I have not been able to find documentation on how to backup the operating system. thanks mknmemries54

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You cannot use iCloud to back up your computer.
Can I suggest you get yourself an external hard drive and start using Time Machine or another back up utility. Data loss is often sudden and unexpected and far too late to do anything about in many cases.

Does two seperate client required if the solman monitors DEV and QAS system

This is our client landscape:
1 Dev-SolMan->For all development and quality systems(ECC 6.0, BI and EP).
1 PRD-SolMan->For all production systems(ECC 6.0, BI and EP).
Note: We have build only DEV-SolMan system as of now and we haven't done any configuration yet like either service desk or ChaRm.
The question is:
Do we need to have two seperate clients in DEV-Solman, one for all development systems and one for all quality systems? or Can we have a single client in DEV-Solman to handle all development and quality systems? What is the SAP recommented approach?

Hi,
you even don't need separate Solution Manager systems to monitor DEV / QA and Prod. You could use one SolMan client to monitor and administrate all systems / clients.
Maybe it would be a good idea to create different Solution Landscapes, but this depends on your need.
Separate clients are no good option, because CHARM can only activated in on client. Also if you plan to activate charm, you need a solution that contains all systems in your transport landscape (DEV, QAnad Prod).

The ideal system: Creative and Logite

I want to buy a XtremeMusic at 45. or a Elite Pro a 2?.
Which is the best one? Of course the Pro, but it is worth 70? in more? I will only use it to see film, to listen to music and to play videogame.
I have bought the Creative T6060. In order to take advantage of the power of the X-fi, I need to buy a new system?
Which is the best one between Creative GigaWorks? ProGamer G500 at 220? , or a Logitech? Z-5400 Digital 5. at 205?

I like the combination of creative cards with Logitech speakers. I am currently running X-Fi Elite Pro with Logitech 5300e and I like it lot - I had a Gigiworks 500w system, but the subwoofer died. I do remember with that system, the speakers would crackle - I have yet heard it crackle on my 5300e speakers.
I think most of problems people here is becasue of running on creative speakers - it may not be the sound cards at all. - except for some some AMD systems using nForce motherboards.

Separating the MCOD system

If anyone have any experience in separating MCOD database which is on version DB2 V8.1 fp10, please guide me on how to proceed.

"Separating" an MCOD installation can be (easily) done using a homogeneous system copy using R3load:

After you have copied one of the systems you can delete that schema on database level.

Creating a Business system in the SLD

I am receiving an error message when trying to create a business system in the SLD. The error is "The selected client has an associated logical system nae that is already used for another business system. Select a different client."
Here is my issue. The business system that I am creating is for our R/3 4.6C production system. I currently have a business system for our R/3 4.6C quality system. Our prodution and quality R/3 systems do have the same logical system name and client number. This is because we recreate our qaulity R/3 system from our production system.
So, the question is, How do I create a business system in the SLD for my production R/3 system when the logical system name is used assoicated with and business system.
I should add that all my R/3 systems have been created as technical systems without any problems.

It is recommended to have all ALE names unique.
If it is not possible the following workaround can be used.
Create one system in SLD (business system/technical system) which contains the ALE name. Proposal: The production system
Create the other systems(dev/QA) without the ALE name
During configuration the production system will be configured as usual.
For Dev/QA systems: Define in the receiver agreement the header mapping and use The Receiver service to reference the production system. Because you reference the production system the ALE name of the production system will be used to fill the idoc.
