Separting inboxes for each email account

I have just begun using Mail.app (because it supports Exchange; I was using Thunderbird). What I don't like, is how my inbox folders for all of my separate email accounts are grouped together under one "Inbox" header -- is there anyway to have the incoming/inbox folder to be grouped with the rest of the folders that correspond with that email account?

is there anyway to have the incoming/inbox folder to be grouped with the rest of the folders that correspond with that email account?
The short answer to that would be 'No'. Besides, there are only a maximum of three folders for each email account, and they are all separate from each other, which is the way it should be.

  • Different mail alerts for each email account

Just got the new Verizon iPhone. Used BlackBerry for years. One feature of the BB that I think is missing from the iPhone is the ability to set different mail alerts for each email account. For instance, I would like to turn off alerts for my corporate Exchange account (for which I get 100 emails a day), but receive alerts for my Comcast and Gmail accounts.
Am I correct that there is only one on or off feature for the iPhone for all accounts?

That turns the account off for receiving mail as you provided, which I'm fairly certain the OP is not interested in.
The OP wants to be able to turn the new mail alert sound off for one account while leaving it on for another account while all accounts are still checked for new messages.

Tell Apple you'd like to see this feature...you're not the first:

  • Different icons on home screen for each email account?

    Good Morning,
I have searched and searched to no avail for an answer to this (simple) question:
Is there any way to have separate mail icons on your home screen for each of your mail accounts?
I have my work/exchange email (knee-jerk response required) and my spam-laden personal account set up on my phone. Everytime my phone "dings" I have to go digging for which account it is. It would be very nice to see right on the home screen which account had mail rather than having them grouped into one cumulative icon.
Note to developers: I'd be willing to pay for this.
    Thanks,
    Dominic

No such option is available, but a good suggestion for Apple where this must likely originate from.

  • IPhone 4s - We need a separate signature for each email account.

I had no problem with this in WebOS.  Makes no sense to have muliple email accounts and not enter a different signature for each.
So far, I've not seen an app worth buying. I thought about changing signature to remove "sent from my iPhone" and changed my mind. I'm leaving it in there to advertise to everyone how limited iPhone is for truly handling personal and business email needs.
I hope Apple figures this out soon!!

As Apple hasn't thought it worth doing for 4 1/2 years I wouldn't hold my breath. The best you can do is put all of the sigs you need into the signature, then delete all but the one you want before sending.

as I do not want to share my email accounts names. Can I assign each aol account name to an apple Id and have the messages go to that account only?

  • How can I set up a unique signature for each email account?

Is Apple kidding me? I can put multiple email accounts on my iPad but they must all have the same signature, bcc settings etc...
That makes this a toy not a tool!
Is there an app for that?

The only work around I can think of would be to use TextExpander. Not the best solution but possibly the only one for now.

  • HT4623 I updated to iOS 6.1, now the mail application will not load. My settings for each email account are still in there, I have synched several times, and rebooted several times. Sill nothing. Why is there no support for upgrade issues ??

I refuse to pay for support for an issue caused by an upgrade. That is just ridiculous.

I'm having the exact same problem.  When I select an email the mail application pauses for a couple seconds, the screen goes black and then I go to the home screen.  Have you found anything more on this issue?  Didn't have this problem before upgrading to 6.1.

  • How can I set up a password to open each email account to keep privacy?

    Hello,
Different members of the family are using the same ipad. How can I set up a password for each email account to keep privacy ?
    Thanks

You can not - it's a single-account device, including email, so you can't set up seperate passwords for seperate emails. All or nothing, I'm afraid.

  • Can i have different alert tones for Multiple email accounts?

Would like to have different alert tones for each email account. Is there a way to accomplish it?

        Hi there, DawgFan1980!
I understand the purpose of the different notification sounds. The iPhone only allows 1 tone for e-mail accounts. At this time, this cannot be changed.

  • E71x Notifications for each mail account

I've got 2 mail profiles set up now, and possibly a 3rd one shortly.  It seems I can only set notifications up for all of the email accounts collectively.  Is there anyway to set up notifications for each specific account?
I've got Yahoo set up on the Xpress Mail app, any my company account on the Exchange app.  I'd like to set up a Gmail account and have the notifications for the Yahoo and Exchange accounts turned off so I would only get a vibration for the Gmail account.  Is this possible?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Actually, you should have one icon for each email account. Further, you should have a Messages icon that is the master list for all messaging services you use (including, but not limited to, email). Depending on your OS level, you may be able to control what shows in Messages and mask those email accounts out of Messages. But you'd need to give us some idea of what OS level you are running.
If you are not seeing the additional email account icons, then many things could be an play...here are what I can think of right now:
You are running a theme that hides all but Messages.
You are hiding the individual email account icons.
You have something else running that is causing this.
I can't really think of any other possible causes. Good luck!

i have installed office 365 in mac pro book and configured 3 accounts. all the mails are downloading to same inbox. please let me the configuration to receive mail in separate
inbox, sent, draft, etc.. for each accounts

    Hi,
By default, the Outlook folder list groups similar folders, such as inboxes, from all of your mail and Microsoft Exchange accounts. This feature can make it easier to read all your messages at once, without having to move around between mail folders.
If you want, you can turn off this feature so that each account and all its folders are separated in the folder list:
