Seperate column numbers for the same page.

I was wondering how to make one part of a page have like 6 columns, and a different section have 3 columns, all on the same page. I know how to change column numbers but not twice on the same page. I want to be able to do it like it does in the non-profit newsletter template. Open that template and click show layout to see what I mean. I want to do that except on a blank page.

No problem. I had never used the contextual menu to insert a break. When I checked last night, the contextual menu didn't say "break" after the choices, this morning it does. But, I'm finding using the contextual menu to be very "finicky." It won't let me insert a break in the middle of a line & placing the cursor at the end of a line & right-clicking selects the return character & has a check mark next to paragraph break in the contextual menu. It let's me change the character to another. I think the contextual menu would be very helpful to determine what kind of break is in a template or to change a bread from one type to another, but I'll stick with using the Insert menu.

  • Two tabs for the same page

    Hello,
    I have been spending the whole morning trying to find a solution for this problem but did not find any either by myself or parsing the forum messages.
    I am building an application with a two level tab for the navigation.
    Everything is fine as long as the pages referenced by the tabs have a different number.
    My problem is that i use the same dynamic page (let say 40) to be accessed through two different tabs.
    e.g Parent tab is labelled "Parent"
    Two other tabs are created linked to parent tab "Parent" and those are labelled "Action1" and Action2"
    Selecting "Action1" will result in rendering the page 40 with a parameter (let say page_type) set to the value 1.
    Selecting "Action2" will result in rendering the *same* page 40 with a parameter (let say page_type) set to the value 2.
    For the parent tab "Parent" let say that the default is to select "Action1"
    Is there any solution to implement that kind of behaviour?
    I have tried to create redirecting pages (empty page and a single branch) to achieve this but i always get stucked when trying to have page 40 displaying the proper tabs and parent tab.

    Whilst it is fairly straightforward to create multiple tabs for the same page (this can be done through Shared Components, Tabs and click Add on the standard >>tabs bar, enter in any page number you like), the functionality of tabs does not provide the means to set item values. Additionally, as both tabs would be >>"current" for your page 40, once you've clicked on one, you can not click on the other.Yes this is exactly what i discover once my page 40 has been built.
    There may be ways to do what you need, but as tabs are really there for navigation purposes only, this may become rather complicated. What is the difference >>between Action1 and Action2? Can this be achieved in another way? Have you considered switching to lists for navigation (where you can set item values)?In fact, i can still duplicate this page and have a few changes within each new page. But as a matter of code design as both pages have around half in common, i wanted to share most of the items (build a single page) and then play for a few additional items with conditions encompassing the page type i have set before rendering the page.=> Most items in common, a few others whose display is conditionnal. For the end user, it looks like two different pages because in their business process the "Action1" and "Action2" are clearly different.
    I use lists in this application on the home page to reach most of the application pages but while some users prefer to use the links on the home page and go back to home page, other would like to use the tabs and a number of them use both navigation mechanisms.

  • Two different page numbers on the same page

    Hi guys, I have this problem, in my documents I have a main numbering like this <$chapnum>-<$curpagenum> and a second composing a lot of file-cards, in this file there's a double numbering, the main flow global numbering, and the local numbering <$cupagenum>/<$lastpagenum>.
    I don't know how differentiate this numbering, I would like in the same pages something like : 1-329, 1-330, 1-331 and 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4.

    Ok thank you, I try. I have a techincal manual of 400 pages,
    at the end I have a Appendix with 100 technical file-cards,
    so the numbering is: from page 1 to 400 for the entire manual,
    from 300 to 400 for the file-cards.
    Every file-card is composed by about 10 pages
    and have its own numbering, each page is numbered
    like (1 of 10, 2 of 10 , CurrentPageOfThisCard of TotalPageOfThisCard)
    and this numbering is in a little text frame on the page.
    The first file-card is inserted after the page 299,
    the second file-card start at page 310, the third at 320, etc..
    So, for example, looking the second file-card, the first page of the card
    Is at page 310 of the manual, the second page at 311 and so on.
    The relation is only the position of the file-card in the manual.
    I need to autonumber these two levels of pages.

  • ID CS5 - problem with 2 page numbers in the same page

    Until InDesign CS3 I could put 2 page numbers in one page, either in document pages or in master pages, using 2 linked text frames, one in each of the pages I wanted to see the numbers. And this worked fine!
    In CS4, this stopped working in master pages. I had to override the text frames from master pages (ctrl/cmd + shift click on the text frames) to get this working, and I had to this in ALL document pages.
    I was hoping this problem was solved in CS5 but... the problem got worst!!! Now, not only I have to override the text frames, but I have to erase the markers and put them there again. Which means I have to put page markers individually in ALL pages.
    I wonder if there is a new way to do this? Does any one have the answer?...
    If not... I really really hope someone from Adobe reads this forum and try to solve the problem, because this is a great inconvenience...

    It is a bug since CS4, agravated in CS5, because until CS3 it worked very well.
    In fact, it worked through out a lot of pages. I think this was not created only to pages side-by-side but in fact to those articles that continued several pages ahead. So, in a magazine, when one has to break an article and continue this article in other page, one could (and still can) put a text frame in the of the first part of the article and type "Continue on [next page marker]". Then link this text frame with a new text frame on the page where the article continues, (on top of 2nd part of the article) and type "Continued from [previous page marker]".
    This situation – where text frames are in the document pages – still works fine.
    The problem is when this is a constant and you want to put it in master pages, and now it simply does't work. I mean, when every odd or even pages have both numbers. For me, it's a major problem, because several of my clients just love this!
    Is anyone of Adobe reading this? Are you going to help us and fix this problem, please?...

    If I have the same vendor’s account number created in two different company codes, Is it possible to have different bank account numbers for each company code even though it is the same vendor number?

    You will not get any implications for this.
    All your transactions are made effect on your valuation area.
    which may be company code or plant.
    In mm01 you are maintaing that material for plant level.
    So data related to this material is stored for perticular plant if you are valn area is plant.
    Also for stock transfer order you will have to maintain this material for both plants or company codes.

  • Multiple automated numbering in the same page

    Hi everyone,
    I am using InDesign CS4 and am trying to print CD labels with CD numbers on them. Each page has two CD labels on it and I have to serialize them. For example, the first page will have 001 - Disk 1 of 500  and  002 – Disk 2 of 500. The page numbering option can only do one serial number per page. How can I create a multiple automated numbers like that? If InDesign can’t do it, is there any plug-in that can do this?

    Ok Nearly did it with a Paragraph Style
    You will need to convert the numbering to text and GREP Search
    Find
    ^\b(\d\d\s)
    Change To
    0$1
    But it works, you just need 500 paragraph returns

  • Table Link on the same page in Numbers '09

    I didn't word this correctly but I will try to explain what I'm trying to do.
    I have a sheet of birthdays, which is only 2 columns and its sorted by date. I want to have the table continue the sorted information on the same page. For example, There are 4 pages each with 2 columns, I want to put as much information on one page like 1/1 - 5/5 on the first half of the page then continue 5/6 - 8/30 on the second half of the page, maintaining it being sorted.
    I'm not sure if this made any sense, but an example would be in pages if I have 2 text boxes and link them the information will spill into the next text box.

    I came up with what may be a better idea after writing all this. But rather than delete it, here is my first idea:
    Numbers does not have page breaks and I can't think of a way to do what you want the way you are asking. But what you can do is use your original table as a master and have several other, smaller tables that break it up as you want. For instance, a table that has only birthdays in January 2009 could be constructed with the following formula in cell B2 (the date column) and A2 (which I am guessing is the person's name):
    B2=IF(AND(Table 1 :: B2>DATE(2008,12,31),Table 1 :: B2<DATE(2009,2,1)),Table 1 :: B2,"")
    A2=IF(B2="","",Table 1 :: A2)
    This table should be longer than your master table. It should be longer than you think your master table will get. Otherwise the dates at the bottom of your master table, as you add to it, will not be transferred over.
    After you have those formulas in columns A and B, go to the reorganize panel and choose to show rows where column B is not blank. That will hide all the blank rows. And you can sort it.
    Create other tables for your other groups of dates. You'll have to sort each table separately if you add more birthdays to your master table.
    You can arrange your tables on the page so several of these tables are side by side. I would not recommend arranging them with any above another.
    If you want to get fancier, you can use two header cells of each table to specify the start and end dates. Then, instead of hard coding the dates into the formula, you would reference those two cells.

    We need to make the fields in a page grow column wise within that same page.
    For example, in a page:

    Hi Gurunath, if you steel need a solution on this problem, I think this could help:
    1- place two fields on the form (JF01, JF02), one under each other.
    2- Make two subform with them (Sline1, Sline2)
    3- Make the field JF02 expand on same subform.
    4- Modify the preamble in this way:
    ^define group:D_line1 \field$POSITION\reserve"0.333",in\subformSline1.\positionsave,"first_line"
    ^define group:JF01!OnOverflow \groupG_Sline2.\fieldJF02.
    ^define group:G_Sline2!OnBOF \positionrestore,"first_line"\positionright,"3.65",in
    In the data file put all the text in JF01.
    -The first line say:
    When JF01 is called, save it's y position (\positionsave,"first_line")
    -The second line means:
    when the text overflow JF01 put it in JF02.
    (cause JF02 overflow on itself all the remaining data is overflowed in JF02)
    -The third line means:
    if JF02 arrives at the end of the page (OnBOF), restore the saved position ( \positionrestore,"first_line") and move to the right of "3,65" inches (\positionright,"3.65",in).
    In other words, when JF02 arrive at the and of the age, the next field JF02 is positioned at the same height of JF01 and is shifted on the right
    Take care that in this way JF02 cannot anymore go o a new page.

  • Duplicate column ids in reports on the same page, how can I reference them?

    I have 4 reports on the same page.
    I have added a checkbox column to each one.
    On clicking I want to populate a collection with the value of the id of the corresponding row and then have a button acting on the whole list.
    My code to get the id of the item that contains the value I want is this
    id = 'f02_' + $(this.triggeringElement ).attr('id').substr(4,4);
    But there is an f02_0001 for each report, and the code just finds the first one, rather than the one in the context of the report being clicked.

    All that is ever picked up is 2072
    They have different table ids but I don't know how to reference the correct ones in my code

    Can anyone tell me how I can use a report column link -- that when the link is clicked will populate all of the text fields of my form which is on the SAME page? The form has about 10 fields, and their is only (3) Name/Value associations for a column link.

    Great! Thanks for the advice. It appears that when you do that, it changes the column link attributes to a URL and puts the name/values in the URL -- when I first clicked on the link, it would not work -- said that it could not find item P6_FAX. I looked at the URL and then I deleted some of the spaces after the commas in the URL and it works great.

    I have given report title in the report header but for some reason it displays title on first page and data from next page on wards. I have also given a page break for the groups, is this the reason for getting  title on one page and dtata from next page?
    Pls suggest me something so that i can have report title on the top and then data stating frrom the same page.

    Expand the page header, move your column headings down, and put the report title at the top of the page header.
    The title has to be in the PAGE header in order for it to print on all pages.
