How do I set up seperate I-tunes accounts on the same computer? I already have an account but my wife doesn't.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

HT2905 how to seperate I tune library accounts

My fiance and I just got new I phone 4S's and after putting our I tunes back into our phones, my phone has an issue. The problem I have come across is this: if I want to update an APP, my fiance's I tunes account name comes up. I can add APP's no problem. How de I correct this problem? My family uses a single lap-top as our main internet connection and when we synch our respective I-pods, our I-tunes account seems to wipe-out our playlists, even though we have tried to create separate I-tune accounts. Help!!

My family uses a single lap-top as our home computer and several of us have i-pods that we like to synch, using I-tunes. Although we've tried to create separate I-tune accounts, our i-tunes playlists are getting wiped out when one of us deletes songs on our I-pod and it seems as though I-tunes is not distinguishing our distinct accounts and all i-pods are being synched to reflect the latest i-pod anyone makes on their respective account. It appears as though our distinct I-tune accounts are not being loaded on our lap-top when we sign in and unfortunately, when we're in I-tunes, there is nothing to indicate what account is on the screen. For all the glowing appraisals apple-related products usually receive, we are finding i-tunes and its interface with our respective i-pods to be a very, very frustrating experience.
Can anyone shed some light on this for a family of non-techies? Thx

You need to create separate Windows user accounts if you want to seperate the behaviour of iTunes for each user. That also means separate iTunes libraries for each user.
Windows is a multi-user operating system but you are not using it properly. iTunes is not a multi-user application. No application is. You can't expect it to treat different users differently when they are all using the same computer user account.

You need to delete the contacts from your iCloud account at the main source. Log in with your iCloud account with a browser on your computer to delete her contacts from your iCloud account online address book, or if you are also syncing your iCloud account contacts with a supported address book app on your computer, delete her contacts from there, which will delete the contacts from your iCloud online address book and in turn delete the contacts from your iPhone.
You can delete her photos from your iCloud PhotoStream direct on your iPhone, or if you are also accessing your iCloud PhotoStream on your computer, you can delete the photos from there.

I have one iTunes account and one iCloud account for three phones, mine, my husband's and my sons. I need to seperate the iCloud account and make seperate ones for each person. How do I do this so I don't delete important phone numbers out of our contacts?

First, make sure all contacts are on everybody's phones now (ideally, make sure you have an up to date sync'd copy in your computer contacts as well). Then, you will need new AppleIDs for everyone so they all can have their own iCloud account. Keep the current shared AppleID for iTunes so you can continue to share your purchased content.
Using free emails (if needed - get GMail, Hotmail, yahoo, or whatever free email accounts you prefer), create new unique AppleIDs for everybody at

Then, delete the iCloud accounts on the phone, and then create new ones with the new AppleIDs. Violoa, everybody has their own unique iCloud account with their own unique AppleID login. You can also use those same unique AppleIDs to make sure everybody has unique iMessage accounts as well so you are not all stumbling over eachothers messages.

The music that I purchased from an old account will not transfer to my new account & the old account email no longer exists it is (djbdeercreek613@com***t.net) and the password would not be accepted when we entered it. Apple IDs do not go out of existence. All purchases are PERMANENTLY associated with whatever ID was used for the purchase. Go here to investigate.

No, it's done on the computer, it's just done on the web and not through iTunes. I guess you could do it on the iPhone, but it would be easier to do on the computer.

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.
