Sequence = 896x504 / Footage = 1920x108 / Scale is always 100% Why?

Hi folks,
I filmed a presenter at 1920x1080 hoping to have a lot of room to work with if i imported onto a 896x504 sequence. However, when I import it comes in at 100%. I need to scale the presenter but I'm afraid I will intoroduce pixals (by going above 100%).
Q. Can I scale larger in hopes that Premiere is smart enough to know that my footage is larger and get away with it?

Frame scale back to 100%

Hi all:
i've recieved a InDesign CS6 document with an image frame scaled (not the content), whatever i put on the scale box always show 88.5% (if I enter 100% DOES the transformation but the number fast goes back to 88.5%) i don't care the number showed, BUT my Text Warp also reduces to 88.5%, and this I DO care.
Now I'm workarounding by doing new frames and placing the image again without problem, the normal behavior of always showing 100%, but just to know a little more about my beloved InDy i bring this to the community.
the example shows an 1p gutter and a 1p text warp (reduced)
I have two questions
1: is there a way to put the frame back to 100%? and it shows 100% and my text warp back to 1p?
or/also
2: is there a way to unchain the text warp of the frame scale%?

I'm not sure why it's doing that. When I place an image and select it (the frame) with the Selection tool, it always reads as 100%. If I resize it (by Command or Shift-Command dragging a handle), I can see the percentage change as I'm changing it, but the display always reverts back to 100% when I release the mouse button. I can only see the changed percentage if I look at the content with the direct select tool, but the frame is always at 100%.
If I know that the image needs to be at 100%, I can set it on the contents and then fit the frame to the contents. Would that help?

HP Printer default scale settings always reset to 10%

Every time I hit the print button on my Mac (I have an HP PSC 1210 all-in-one printer) the document prints at 10%. I know, I have to go into page set up and when i do that, the scale is always at 10% so I have to change the scale to 100%.
My question is, why is it not automatically set at 100% anymore? And how can I make the print scale default to 100% so I don't have to go into page set up everytime I want to print

OK, this feels like we're on the right track!
The default paper size is set to US Letter... which is perfect.
Then, I went to http://127.0.0.1:631/printers/ but I didn't see anything about paper scale when I clicked on all the tabes under "Set Default Options", including "General". I did try to click on "Default Options" button which asked me for a username and password but I'm not quite sure what would even be nor how to even find them because I have never been to that page before...

Windows 7, file properties - Is "date accessed" ALWAYS 100% accurate?

Here's the situation: I went on vacation for a couple of weeks, but before I left, I took the harddrive out of my computer and hid it in a different location. Upon coming back on Monday (January 10, 2011) and putting the harddrive back in my computer, I
right-clicked on different files to see their properties. Interestingly enough, several files had been accessed during the time I was gone! I right-clicked different files in various locations on the harddrive, and all of these suspect files had been accessed
within a certain time range (Sunday, ‎January ‎09, ‎2011, approximately ‏‎between 6:52:16 PM - 9:06:05 PM). Some of them had been accessed at the exact same time--down to the very second. This makes me think that someone must have done
a search on my harddrive for certain types of files and then copied all those files to some other medium. The Windows 7 installation on this harddrive is password protected, but NOT encrypted, so they could have easily put the harddrive into an enclosure/toaster
to access it from a different computer.
Of course I did not right-click every single file on my computer, but did so in different folders. For instance, one of the folders I went through has different types of files: .mp3, ,prproj, .3gp, .mpg, .wmv, .xmp, .txt with file-sizes ranging from 2 KB
to 29.7 MB (there is also a sub-folder in this folder which contains only .jpg files); however, of all these different types of files in this folder and its subfolder, all of them had been accessed (including the .jpg files from the sub-folder) EXCEPT the
.mp3 files (if it makes any difference, the .mp3 files in this folder range in size from 187 KB to 4881 KB). Additionally, this sub-folder which contained only .jpg files (48 .jpg files to be exact) was not accessed during this time--only the .jpg files within
it were accessed-- (between 6:57:03 PM - 6:57:08 PM).
I thought that perhaps this was some kind of Windows glitch that was displaying the wrong access date, but then I looked at the "date created" and "date modified" for all of these files in question, and their created/modified dates and
times were spot on correct.
My first thought was that someone put the harddrive into an enclosure/toaster and viewed the files; but then I realized that this was impossible because several of the files had been accessed at the same exact time down to the second. So this made me think
that the only other way the "date accessed" could have changed would have been if someone copied the files.
Is there any chance at all whatsoever that this is some kind of Windows glitch or something, or is it a fact that someone was indeed accessing my files (and if someone was accessing my files, am I right about the files in question having been copied)? Is
there any other possibility for what could have happened?
Do I need to use any kinds of forensics tools to further investigate this matter (and if so, which tools), or is there any other way in which I can be certain of what took place in that timeframe the day before I got back? Or is what I see with Windows 7
good enough (i.e. accurate and truthful)?

Never mind. Someone else already answered this for me:
"I use last accessed-created date time stamps all the time when troubleshooting-investigating software installs, its been very accurate in my uses of it in NTFS file systems.
Since some of the dates are while you were gone, I assume it was several days to a week, I would say someone did access those files.
These timestamps along with other data are used by computer forensics teams to reconstruct what a user did on a computer.
Experienced Hackers use software to alter these time stamps to cover their tracks when breaking into computer systems."

Additionally, I just now found out what happened. Someone else found the harddrive and thought it was theirs (since it was identical to one they had been missing), so they put it in their computer and scanned it with an anti-virus software. They realized it
wasn't theirs and then put it back in the place I had hidden it.
In my original question, I stated a possible theory that someone may have copied the files, but I later realized that copying in itself doesn't affect the "date accessed" of the original/source file, but rather only the "date accessed" of
the copy.

I know a lot of people with iphone 5 and have never heard them complain about top button always brake and screen that decides to pop off or the back of their case is bending.
That sounds like a phone that has been dropped a numerous times.

Premiere pro 5.5 stops working when playing a sequence, saving a project or closing,any ideas why?

I can open a project, import files or other projects, but when I want to play the sequence the program stops working and closes. When I try to save the project or close the program I get a "software not responding" message.
I hope someone can help me with this as I cannot work on any projects.

thanks for taking the time to help me. I have updated the software and rendered the files and now I am able to play them, but still neither the sequence nor the clip play/show on the corresponding screens, I can only hear the audio file. I also continue having problems when saving the project, the software stops working and I get the "non responding" error from microsoft.
As you suggested, and I have to say I am pretty much a dummy with the codecs and alike, I installed the mediainfo and run one of the files.
This is the info that appears on the screen
I am not getting any error messages from Premiere, so I am kind of stock. If you need other info let me know.

FCP Oddity - HD footage sometimes scale at 100% - sometimes 225%

I am having a final cut pro oddity happening.
Shooting from the same 2 cameras and capturing the footage exactly the same way and sometimes the footage in the sequence is appearing at 100% and sometimes it is appearing at 225% and therefore needs to be rendered.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when it is 100% and when it is 225% even in the same sequence timeline. One camera will be at one scale and the other will be at the other.
Any ideas as to why this is happening?
The only adverse effect is high-speed motion that is scaled at 225% is outputting onto DVD with a slight choppy motion.

I've had that happen - let me ask you a few questions.
1 - Is this a discrepancy between footage from the different cameras? OR, is it happening to footage from the same camera.
2 - are you noticing this the moment you drag(or insert) the footage on the timeline?
3 - can you tell me the properties of the capture footage from both cameras and the sequence settings.
(In my experience, this has happened when I dropped 1080 footage on a 720 timeline, and I didn't know that the 1080 footage had been shot at 1080 - or, I just forget which camera shot at which. - the 1080 footage will not self scale to 720 - it will be blown up)
Let me know what you come up with.

HT204135 My printer always defaults to "Scale = 150%" and prints oversized. I always have to set the scale back to "100%". Is there any way to change this default setting?

My osX Lion loaded iMac always prints with a default "scale" of "150%" and consequently won't print anything on a single page. I always have to go into "Printer Settings" and change it to "100%" to print properly. Is there any way to set this up to default at "100%"?

Hi, just a note that might help. I notice in baltwo's screen shot of the print dialog, that the Preset titled "Plain paper, best" is selected.
anderdan33316, if you have selected a preset, and that preset was created with the "Scale" set to "150%". I suspect your issue is related to this.
for a possible solution,
1. in Safari, open the Print dialog (by cmd-p, or choosing "Print..." from the File menu, either way works).
2. in the dialog, manually set the Scale to 100%
3. in the "Presets:" pull-down menu, select "Save Current Settings as Preset..."
4. enter a label that is meaningful to you, such as "Standard", "Basic", "Default" - it can be modified later
5. print that page from that dialog, and the customized Preset will be one of your choices until you decide to delete it.

This has suddenly started across all projects, including those I have been working on for ages with no issues. Everything else seems to be exactly the same as ever in every other application, only PP is affected. The footage is all progressive (I rarely encounter interlaced nowadays), prores HQ 25fps, usually 1080 but also 720. Output to the monitor, via MXO2 mini is fine and has not changed at all. I can't think of any updates recently, certainly not in the past week, when this started.
It's really wierd and clearly wrong, but I can't begin to work out how to fix it, having exhausted all my standard fixes (settings in app, OS, hardware etc all checked and rechecked. Reboots done - all to no effect).
My system is:
MacPro 5,1 6-core 3.33GHz
12GB RAM
GTX285 Mac GPU - CUDA 5.0.45, GPU driver 1.3.4.0 (295.00.05f03)
OSX 10.7.5
PP CS 6.0.2
MXO2 mini - latest drivers etc

Well, I seem to have fixed it but none the wiser for why I had this problem.
Fixed it by upgrading my OS to OSX 10.8.3 (always a nerve trembling experience), after cloning my boot drive etc. Then I updated CUDA to the latest version, reinstalled my Matrox drivers and crossed my fingers! Happily, everything seems to be fine now. I can only think that the problem was, maybe, something to do with CUDA, as the only time I ever had an issue was using PP and playback was at less than 100% scale.

FCP-DVDSP sequence PAL footage transcoding

I write asking of help in order to
(a) make a proper transcoding workflow and sequence to edit MPG footage with FCP
(b) output and convert for DVDSP.
I dont know FCP compression and settings so well, and i think i made some mistakes...
I use mac 10.5.8 Leopard on POWERpc with FCPStudio 7 (in the past i was using FCS5).
I need to shrink 2 videos 50min duration each (100min total), in order to fit on DVDSP.
I get a disc meter error my footage is 5.8 GB and exceeded space limit.
this is the 2/2 DVD (1rst is burned ok- it is alsmost full).
My files m2v are about 1.6GB each and inside DVDSP seem that
occupy 2.5GB each (rendered ?)ps for SD.
I recently received some mpg files from a sony hdd camcorder Dsr Sr58.
It has split scenes saved as MPG files which i transcoded to various formats
and tried to import them in a prores444 sequence in FCP to edit.
footage is handheld and has shaky parts too for most of the time.
this does not seem to be an HD camcorder, and i assume, despite the fact
it has a 1:9 LCD records 4:3 and 16:9 anamorphic. I have attached an image
of the folder names i get when i plug the camera via usb on my mac.
I cannot also understand, what is the frame rate recorded by this camera.
i believe it is INTERLACED 25fps. I see evident lines on my mac @ playback.
I need to burn PAL SD DVD (50fps) at the end.
When i open a file in MPEG streamclip, shows 1024x576 frame size unscaled.
However, when i open it in QT shows 720x404.
I firstly used MPEG streamclip and exported to QT making 2 versions
(a) Photo JPG compressor codec @ 80 quality
(b) Prores444 @ 70 Quality.
I did not Deinterlaced in the transcoding stage at all.
I then opened (a) in FCP and i saw i needed to render all clips inc audio
I exported to mov but files are huge and when i make m2v files are 2GB each.
i tried (b) and saw i needed to render the clips again. The m2v files are about 2.2GB each
and there is NO way to bring the quality slider down in FC sequence settings. Seems locked to 100%.
So... I abandoned temporarily and ask for any help here.
Can anyone suggest me a procedure, on
(a) Make a proper project sequence that wont need
render the files each time i import them from transcoding
(b) Suggest how to use compressor and the variable bit rate setting to decrease size further ?

hm... thanks for sugesting JES. it seems when i feed this movie file in JES and choose deinterlace, the program crashes when file gets about 100%.
yesterday i tried to burn the interlaced footage on DVDsp deleting clip1 to be able to burn it.
I made the m2v file using compressor and set BIT RATE to 3,7mbps average. max rate=6.4mbps
Motion estimation= good, and mode= one pass vbr best. i imported them in DVDSP...
burn was ok. i played the dvd on 2 different dvd players (no pc/mac), on PAL TV.
the first played image ok. i mean stady shots appeared clean with tiny interlaced lines sometimes.
The shots that had camera shake and fast PAN (amateur video) showed flickering on TV and during pan
they were leaving a semi-transparent trail behind peope. like a ghost shadow.
The second one, played a more smooth version of steady images without showing the interlaced lines. however, same shadows appeared when fast pan occured, with slow prosumer camera speeds i believe.
JES does not work for a reason on PPC DC 2ghz or i make wrong settings....
I tried deinterlacing (progressive) with MPEGstreamclip, and worked ok. the
Now, my question is.... if i make m2v files again, same bit rate, burn in DVDSP, will the dvd player, play them ok on PAL tv (which uses interlaced lines to display the image) ?

All my printers default to a scale of 150%. Whatever i do will not save and changes any printer settings either the defaults or custom settings. Can anyone help me please.

When I opened a doscument in Preview it defaulted to 97%. When I make changes and save as a preset the changes are not saved. When I go to use the saved preset it has the system default values not my choices.

Dreamweaver CS6 - Always 100% CPU

Hi,
I've just installed the trial of Dreamweaver CS6. And I noticed it's always taking 100% of the CPU!!
I disabled RELATED FILES, deleted the cache, but it still takes 100% of the CPU.
The CPU goes down to 0% once I enter any menu in Dreamweaver.
I tried all the solution offered here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/656747 but it still didn't helped.
Any advice?

Concerning this problem of high CPU consumption, I noticed something curious in dreamweaver CS5.5 and CS6:
- In DW cs5.5, when i'm uploading a website, the consumption of my CPU (Core i7) increases to 12%, the computer fans start to work fast, so this is completely normal. But when you open a menu, such as 'file', consumption goes down completely, even while you're uploading.
- In DW CS6, without doing any activity, CPU consumption rises to the same percentage (12%) like shows in version CS5.5, while upload. When you open a menu in CS6, also the consumption goes down.
Conclusion: Noting that the CS5.5 this is related to upload the file, my question is: Does it have a bug in the system to upload files from DW CS6?

Magic mouse battery level always 100% running Yosemite

Hi All i have had this problem since 1 year, also after updating to Yosemite the bug still exists, the battery of the magic mouse is always at 100% until it runs out of juice and it asks to replace battery.
Apple pls fix it or provide a terminal solution

1. Rechargeable batteries are different: the voltage stays practically the same untill the end of the charge, then they steeply fall to "empty".
2. You may have a not too healthy battery (happens sometimes). When the magic mouse or the cordless keyboard do not work well, changing the battery for a new one often solves the problem, even if the battery inside is "full".
