Sequence Limits Editor Crash
While editing Multiple Numeric Limits, if I try to move the last entry in the Measurement Set window up, the editor crashes and takes the Sequence Editor with it. Has anyone else seen this behavior and is there a fix for it? I am running TestStand 4.0. Is this fixed in 4.1?

Thanks for the follow-up.
I was able to replicate the problem against TestStand 4.1.
The problem only occurs with a TestStand 3.5 custom step types merged with a Multiple Numeric Limit Test step. The problem is due to the merged Substeps from TestStand 3.5 running in TestStand 4.1. To resolve the issue, you will need to change the Substeps in the custom step to use the new TestStand 4.1 Substeps.
Please follow the instructions below to solve the issue:
Open the TestStand 4.1 and navigate to the Types view (Crtl-T)
Locate the TestStand 3.5 custom step merged with Multiple Numeric Limit Test
Right-click on the custom step and select Properties. The Step Properties window will appear.
In the custom step Properties window, select the Substeps tab.
Changing Post Substep
In the Substeps tab, select on the Post substep and click on the Specify Module button
In the Fuction Name dropdown, select "DoMultiNumericMeasEvaluationUsingExpr" - as shown in the picture below.
Select OK
Changing Edit Substep
In the Substeps tab, select the Edit substep and click on the Specify Module button
In the Function Name dropdown, select EditMultiNumericMeasurementStepUsingExpr
Select OK
Select OK in the custom step Properties window.

Adobe photoshop elements 12 will not open photo editor crashes every time.
My elements 12 does the same thing I have seen written here over and over. Can not open editor, crashes every time. It is updated, reinstalled and administrator is set. Does anyone from Adobe read these boards?
I asked you to try that because one thing that often happens is that the dock icon gets corrupted, and it's best to get the simple obvious problems out of the way first.
What do you mean by "several students"? Is this in a classroom situation? Are these computers all on a school intranet together? We tend to assume here that you are talking about a personal version and a problem with your own computer, not an institutional installation, unless you specify otherwise.
If this is your personal computer, the next thing to do is to delete the prefernces. Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 settings
Adobe Photoshop Elemetns 12 paths
and any lockfiles with the same names. To see the user library in 10.9, option click the Go menu in the Finder and it will appear below the little house for your user account. While you're in the library, go to the saved application states folder and delete anything in there for PSE.
Repair permissions and try again. -
Installed Elements + for PSE 6, now my editor crashes upon opening. What went wrong?
I have Windows XP and PSE6. I just bought Elements + (it's the PSE6 Windows version), downloaded it, and went through the automatic install. Now my editor crashes every time I open it. Tried restarting to no avail. What happened?
Sorry, I figured this one out I suppose. I switched to the alternative E+ interface and it's working great now.

Photoshop Elements 12 Editor Crashes When Editing Raw

Consistently when I'm editing RAW files (Canon T2) the Elements Editor 12 crashes. To repro:
1) I'll select 5-8 photos in the Organizer.
2) Right click and "Edit with PS Editor"
3) RAW importer/editor (not sure if that's the official name, but it's the screen when I can make minor edits and white balance)
4) Select all images and open.
5) Initially they'll all open in the full PSE Editor, but after editing a few the editor will hang and suddenly wierd things happen:
a) the "after" version of the photo is a grey and white checkerboard. If I go back to the "before" version, it looks fine
b) the close file "x" button in the top right is disabled (just get a beep), but if I go under "file" and "close" in the menu, the file will close.
c) I can't close the application itself.via the "X" button or "Exit". I need to logout or manually go into task manager and kill the process.
I have a fairly new PC with vanilla installation of Windows 8.1.
Any suggestions?Update -- still having this problem but not it seems to happen when editing JPEG as well. I'm not sure how to repro it as it doesn't happen every time, but sometime between the 2nd and 10th photo that I try to edit the editor crashes right after I save or "save as". I hear a system bing and then the editor becomes non-responsive. I can "close' the file via the menu (not via the "x" button in the top right), but no other functionality works. Can't close the editor other than by shutting down or manually killing via Task Manager.
Incredibly frustrating. I'm thinking about uninstalling/reinstalling but am worried about losing all of the data in the catalog (~15k photos). I'm thinking about just writing the metadata to the files (most have it already) and manually copying the catalog files.
Anyone else have this problem and/or suggestions on how to address it?

On page 1011 of the Final Cut Express User Manual, in the section "The Export QuickTime Movie Command", in the second paragraph, it suggests that there is a way to create a custom Sequence Preset. I quote:
"You can also choose to use the existing settings of the clip or sequence you are exporting, or create customized settings in a custom Sequence Preset Editor."
I desperately want to create a custom sequence preset. The last video I did for work I did at 1920 x 1080. The video is going on the companies site at 576 x 324. So I would rather just work in that size. But I cannot figure out how to create a sequence that size. Dose such a "Sequence Preset Editor" exist? And, where would I get one?
Any help offered here would be most graciously welcomed.I don't really know what it means by that. However, in the paragraph before it it says:
+"You can use this command to export Final Cut Express clips or sequences with their current settings or any of the sequence settings available in Final Cut Express. This command allows you to choose settings based on sequence presets in Final Cut Express"+.
I can only assume that it means you can take the file into another program like Compressor to choose more settings instead. Or maybe it is referring to Quicktime Conversion, which gives you more options in exporting...
Maybe someone else will know, but for now I am puzzled. -

PSE 9 Editor crashes at start up
Hoping someone can help! I've recieved the PSE9 brand new out of the box, and installed with no problems. I am able to open the organizer, but the editor crashes everytime I try to open it (from the start up menu as well as the organizer). I recieve the message "Photoshop elements Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close"
I have been reading some of the other threads with similar problems had have tried the following suggestions:
1. Removing TWAIN plug in to another file
2. Resetting preferences (ctrl+alt+shift)
3. Disabling the auto-analizer options under preferences in editor
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I tried calling the support line....36 min hold time! Unbelievable!You are most welcome.
If it had been PrE, PrPro, PS (the full-version), AfterEffects, Illustrator, or InDesign, I might have also been able to help, but I know zero about PSE.

It may be a lack of available memory (RAM). Open the Editor and click the menu:
Edit >> Preferences >> Performance
Photoshop Elements >> Preferences >> Performance (on Mac)
You can increase the amount of RAM available to elements, but never go above 90% otherwise you will have nothing left for running other open applications.
You can also allocate other volumes or an external hard drive as scratch disks which elements can then use in place of a shortage of RAM.

Standard troubleshooting steps :

> Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Try launching now and check.

Elements 11 Editor crashes: photo montage issue
I'd like to make a photo montage (not collage) for someone's birthday but am experiencing difficulty because the Editor keeps crashing.
This is similar to what I'm trying to create (taken from a commercial site):
Using Elements 11 I'm selecting parts of photos the individual appears in and pasting each one into a new file, then adding a 10 px white outline to each selection using Stroke (Outline) Selection from the Menu. The aim being to compile all of them into a photo montage where each photo in it is distinct, due to the 10px white outline.
So far so good! When I try to save the file, however, after adding the white outline, the option for where to save the picture is displayed for several seconds but before I've finished typing the destination the Editor crashes, logs me out of the application and virtually all the menu options in Elements 11 become greyed out. My screen then displays the picture with the border I was working on but I'm then unable to close the application normally (or to save it) and have to force quit the application using the Activity Monitor.
I'm using:
OS X 10.9
2.7GHx Intel Core i5
8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory
Elements 11 is up to date

I'd already used the second option mentioned in it to access the Library: ie Finder > Go > Alt click.
I found this file list in the Library under Preference Panes > Preferences. If this is the correct file list which of these need to be deleted please?

Where is the "Sequence Preset Editor? I need a custom Sequence size.
On Page 1011 of the PDF manual for FCE 4, it says:

I cannot get any Export mode to output the same resolution size as my screen capture movie is. Its 1036x778 recorded in AIC codec, so FCE likes it fine.
It seems using the fixed Sequence presets pixel sizes is working against me. I think if I bring my 1036x788 into a Sequence that is 1036x778 I wont get the squishing and distortions of another size. Telling Export to make output 1036x778 never works as it works on the Sequence size not my video size.

FCE does not have this feature as Karsten indicates.
FCE uses fixed pre-set Sequence sizes and cannot be changed.
If you select any Easy Setup you will see the sizes in the fine print.
The info is probably a copy/paste goof up from the FCPro manual.

Layout Editor crashes when loading icon for iconic button (11gR2 patch 1)
Using Forms 11gR2 Patch 1, 64 bit on Solaris 10, the Layout Editor crashes when reading the .GIF file to display an iconic button. (The workaround is not to set UI_ICON and UI_ICON_EXTENSION in the frmbld.sh script. In that case, the Layout Editor displays an empty iconic button, but at least it does not crash.)

Ok, I posted about an issue with my Organizer/Editor workspaces not coming up on startup (not necessarily crashing since the exe processes still showed as running in Task Manager). I seemed to fix the issue by disabling one of the Adobe services (watch folder, perhaps?). Now I can get my Organizer up (although I now have to give permission for an 'unknown program' to come up), but my Editor won't come up. I get a message 'attempted to access an invalid address', followed by 'unable to connect to editor application'... any idea what's going on with my application? Any help is much appreciated.
Was able to fix my problem by disabling the Adobe Active File Monitor service on my computer, then re-enabling it. That seemed to clear up my issues. Hope that helps.

I am new to PSE..I have PSE 7 and Premiere Elements but just outlined my issues as well-I purchased and registered the product online-then upon having issues with this software-now when I am just able to utilize it-this happens. Curiously-my online account did not even show the products registered to at all-I called their activation line and they took info and provided me with a customer i.d.-I thought maybe that was precluding me getting any info about a needed "patch" or possibly an upgrade to PSE..this software is essentially useless to me personally, if I cannot get some resolution-I have done every Windows Platform updates that are permissable for my Vista OS on my Laptop and XP on my PC-this issue is on both. Please Let me know if you get answers cause our problem seems similar. Not so funnay is that I have no prblem accessing any of their marketing "upGrade" links and so forth-and they have no problem with e-contacting me "free of charge" regarding their marketing sales efforts.

Design Editor Crashes on editing USER TEXT
I am running Designer 9i version 9.0.2.10 on windows XP. Everytime I try to use either Text Editor or HTML editor for editing user text under USER TEXT tab of a module definition, the Designer crashes. I have checked the Text Editor options under the Options menu and they are correctly formatted and defined.
Any clues?We launch DE from the Front Panel. Inbetween we found out that it probably is caused by a conflict with other software on the PC. The problems occur on a PC with a pre-installed developer's image, and then Developer suite 10g installed on top of it. On a PC with "normal" company image it seems to be OK.

Why can't others log-in to my Airport Express network?
