Sequence Menu is all white

After DL'ing into Speedgrade I am presented with the familiar choose your sequence menu. Only I can't read any of the names. I just see the icon for sequence and an all white box. This would not be too difficult if I wern't working on a feature that has many sequences and multiclips. Anyone seem this before?
Kevin

Yes that works, but as this is a feature film being graded over several days one should not have to load premiere to load speedgrade. I just took it out of my sequence bin and put it in the root of the project, and now it is easy to find, but it is still a work around that should not have to be used.

    Hi tvilela,
Do you, by chance, have the Pencil Tool selected in place of the Brush Tool.

Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs, then the machine shuts down and restarts. This sequence will repeat seemingly forever unless I shut it down manually.
I upgraded to Yosemite from Mountain Lion a couple months ago, skipping Maverick completely, and I've done any associated updates that Apple told me about. I don't recall which version of Yosemite I have, but I'm sure it is the "latest and greatest".
I've tried re-starting in Safe Mode / Safe Boot and that does the same thing as described above except without the endless restarts. Instead of restarting at some point, SafeBoot proceeds to the white screen and then it hangs until I restart it manually. (I've waited as long os 20-30 minutes with no response).
When I tried the option-command-p-r key combo I never get any chimes or other noises besides the original 1 time boot sound that you would expect to get when starting up a macbook pro.
I was using the mac quite normally (meaning I was doing work I normally do on it and there was no indication of anything wrong) immediately prior to this happening.
The machine is BootCamp(ed) with Windows 8.1 which I use from a VMWare virtual machine instead of natively so that I can have both OSes running at the same time. I also think this is unrelated to my problem. I have been using this setup for more than 2 years.
My upgrade to Yosemite was uneventful and I thought it went well and was very smooth. I don't want to lead attention away from Yosemite, but at this point my problem does not seem related to the upgrade.
    Any help is appreciated.

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Why does Grab give me an all-white result?

After rebooting, Grab works fine, but within a couple of hours it starts giving me an all-white result.  It grabs the proper size image, but the image is entirely white.  This is true whether I grab a selection, a window, timed, untimed, all variations on grabbing are entirely white.
No messages appear in the console indicating anything is wrong.  Quitting Grab and relaunching it doesn't help.  Rebooting the computer fixes the problem temporarily.
Mac Pro with OS X 10.6.8, Grab version 1.5 (101), all software updates applied, all permissions repaired.

I think you are absolutely correct about Trusteer.  My bank uses it too, although I use Firefox rather than Safari.
    I tried this experiment:
    * I tested Grab, it was working fine.
    * Logged in to my online banking, Grab now fails, gives me all white.
    * Logged out, Grab still is all white.
    * Closed the Firefox tab in which I had the the online banking, Grab now works fine!
Just to be sure, I repeated the above sequence again, got the same results.
Further testing suggests that all I have to do to break Grab is to have a tab open in which Trusteer is active, it doesn't matter whether I've logged in yet, simply being at a Trusteer-protected login screen breaks Grab.
    Looks like problem solved, thanks!

  • Just reinstalled Firefox and my header and icons (copy/paste/history etc.) are all white but my text remains blue? The header was kind of bluish before and icons contrasted.

I re-installed Firefox v. 9.??? The icons are white bordered in gry/blk and appear hollow. The header is all white and there is no contrast between the icons and the header, except for the outline of the icons. I have some bookmarks in the menu bar and they are fine, although the text is baby blue but again over the white background. Can I send you a picture (paint) of it?

Thanks, but the problem isn't the creation of a screenshot. It has to do with the coloring of the headers and icons. Submitting a screenshot, with my question/problem, as a means of better explaining the problem, may have further illustrated the problem I am having.

  • UI does not have enough contrast! All white windows, ARGH!

There's lots I love about the Mac and Yosemite.
But, the windows are just too white.  It's too difficult to tell where one thing ends and another begins!  It all looks like white space!
Please have an option to change the window colors amongst a few different themes.
The "all white sheets" theme just isn't working for me.
And remember, not ALL monitors are 27" iMac monitors.   Some are 3rd party or not perfectly color tuned or auto-adjusting for the light in the room!!!!
The colors aside, Yosemite is GREAT in many many ways.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Have you tried "Dark Mode"?
System Preferences > General > check Use dark menu bar and Dock
Also, try some of the Accessibility features such as Increase contrast and Reduce Transparency
System Preferences > Accessibility > Display

  • DVCPRO HD footage comes in all white - Premiere CS6

I'm on a PC running Windows 7 64 bit using Premiere CS6 as part of Creative Cloud
When I import a quicktime with DVCPRO HD 720p60 codec, the video shows up as all white, but the sound plays (this is also the case when I import the footage to After Effets CS6).
The footage itself is okay since I've openned it on a computer with Premiere CS5.5 and After Effects CS5.5 and and it shows up just fine.
I installed all the CS6 Creative Cloud updates, but the problem persisted.
I followed the directions here http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/features-presets-missing-premiere-pro.html but it didn't help (although after uninstalling Premiere and After Effects, when I ran the cscleanertool.exe it didn't see Premiere or After Effects, so I couldn't use it to clean anything).
Also in Premiere, I can create sequences with DVCPRO presets, so it's not that I'm missing those.
Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

I am having the same problem! The footage works fine in CS 5.5, but in CS 6, it's all white in Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Encore (using Dynamic Link to bring the sequence in from Premiere).
In response to Jim, I don't think asking for AVI versions is the solution - going back and asking for footage in a different format (especially if you were given a relatively standard format) would feel stunningly unprofessional to me. Clearly, this is a problem that is new to CS 6, and not being able to handle a widely used format is in my mind unacceptable...and unaccountable, since I can't figure out what would be behind it.

  • Canvas all white but export works - channel issue?

    Hi There,
I have a weird preview issue where the canvas is completely blank. If I do a RAM preview I see the animation in the little window but still get a blank white screen when I play.
However, I can export the full movie and play it in Quicktime no problems. At first I thought it was the Channel Selector menu but it's set to "Color" - and I've tried everything in the menu.
It looks to be some sort of channel issue to me as the media previews are either all white or I can see alpha previews in red.
Any suggestions would be most welcome - obviously I tripped a preview mode?
    Cheers
    Ben

Sorry, got tied up with some other work but have just tried to start a new project and the same thing - all white?
Here is a link to a brand new test file: http://files.me.com/ben.sciascia/ap5qom
Note: I trashed the Motion prefs before creating this file - basically every file I edit and create is almost all white. It might also take a few seconds for it to turn white.
For the life of me I can't think what the heck is going on - it looks like a weird blend mode to me.

  • I'm running xp and all my facebook pages are blank. [ all white ] i have emailed facebook and they said that it is because i'm using firefox. could this be true? none of my family has this problem.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Pages Document displays all white in preview

I took an old flyer that I had on my iPad and brought it over to my MacBook Pro.  After I finished the modifications I tried to put it back on my iPad.  It kept hanging on the import so I decided to just save it as a PDF and manually place it on the iPad.  However, when I save as a PDF all that displays is a white page, if I try to print the preview screen is all white as well.
Any help would be appreciated, I need to get this flyer ready by Monday.
    Thanks
    PB

There was one (maybe two) plain yellow object like this one. I build this one in a hurry with Gimp but in the doc it was a vectorial object.
and if I remember well, after removing it (or them) the doc behaved well.
If I may get the doc with is treated in this thread, I would try to identify it in the index.xml file.
Maybe I would understand what's wrong with it.

    hedger,
How do you expect anyone to help when we don't know a darned thing about the file, abut your setup, exact version of Photoshop and your OS, machine specs, etc.?
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that this is boilerplate text.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
    etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too.

  • Menu fonts all turn into boxed capital "A"s

At some point last night, while I was working on my 10.4.9 PowerMac G4, something happened and my menu fonts all turned into some glyph that looks like a capital "A" inside of a box. All of the text on the desktop, menu bar, window titles, and the left side of a finder window have this change. Files displayed within a finder window, however, do not.
Does anyone have any idea of what might have gone broken to cause this, and ideas on what I can do to try to fix it? I'd rather not reinstall if that's an option.
I've run Disk Utility and DiskWarrior to make sure the drive is up to spec, and it checked out.
    PowerMac G4 Dual 1Ghz (MDD)   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Would it be possible to replace that font from
    another 10.4.9 system?
Sure, from any OS X system at all. But I imagine you
still have Lucida Grande (look in
System/Library/Fonts) and I doubt replacing it will
help. Worth a try, but I think the problem is
something messed up in the OS that makes it think the
    font is gone.
That, also, appears to be the case. Sigh. Looks like it's reinstall time.
    Thanks for the tips, though!

  • Flash animation preview is all white

I'm using Flash CC on a windows computer. My document is an HTML5 canvas. I have my animation all finished, with the exception of the Actions for the button. I have tested the animation before adding any Actions and it shows up in the browser fine (I used both Chrome and IE). But when I add in the Actions for the button to go to another web page and test it out, the animation turns all white. I used the code snippet "Click to go to Web Page", while the button is selected.
I have looked at many different sites and books and it looks like I'm doing everything right. But my test just shows a white box.
In the output  is says the following:
    WARNINGS:
Text support is limited. It is generally recommended to include text as HTML elements (see DOMElement). (6)
Frame numbers in EaselJS start at 0 instead of 1. For example, this affects gotoAndStop and gotoAndPlay calls. (2)
Content with both Bitmaps and Buttons may generate local security errors in some browsers if run from the local file system.
Motion tweens are published as frame by frame animations. Use classic tweens where possible. (15)

I figured it out!!!! I was using the code snippet from the ActionScript Folder, not the HTML5 folder. When I switched it it works fine!!!

  • My iPad screen went all white when I was trying to close an app. I cant turn it off and iTune cant sync with it either.  Does anyone know what I should do to fix this.

I have an iPad 2 that is about 2 years old and is in good shape. I was trying to swipe off an app when the screen went all white. I held down the power button to shut it down but it wont do any thing but go black. When I press the power button it come back all white with no icons and no passcode pad. Does anyone know how to fix this or what it is?
    Thanks

TThanks for the suggestion but it turns out that you have to hold down the Home button, the Power button AND the Volume UP button at the same time for several seconds until, the Apple appears To fix the white screen of death. Found that on another help site. It works and boy an I glad. Pass it on.
