Sequence of photos

when i sync with a folder of photos arranged by date sequence, the photos are not copied into the ipod touch in the same order. what do i need to do to get them to copy in the desired sequence?

It looks like IPODs sort pictures by alphabetic not numeric filenames. So 101 photos named 1_pic, 2_pic, 3_pic thru 101_pic will not be sorted 1 thru 101 as you would expect. They will sort as: 1_pic, 10_pic, 100_pic, 101_pic, 11_pic, 12_pic (to 19_pic), 2_pic, 20_pic (to 29_pic), 3_pic, 30_pic, etc. One way around this is to use filenames like 001_pic, 002_pic, 003_pic, 010_pic, 020_pic, 100_pic, etc.
which is why i suggested labelling them 01, 02, 03. i personally only have about 20 pictures on my ipod, and unless i get a much bigger ipod, will probably never have more than 100. so 01, 02, 03. is adequate. i dont know about 1,2,3. i haven't tried it, just what someone else on here said.

  • Sequencing of photos?

I am a novice at Aperture (3.1.2) but enjoy using it; and I am a very amateur photographer.  A "1st grade" question:
I imported some 150 images as a Project.  I then went through them and did some sorting into 5 Albums.  One of these Albums ended with 78 images.  Within that Album I then manually sequenced the photos in an "artful" string.
Then I exported the images (Versions) to iPhoto '11 (9) - simply because I am more familiar and like editing the pictures in iPhoto.  Of course, when imported to iPhoto the sequencing I had made in Aperture album was completely lost/changed.  I went through the 78 pics and edited each in iPhoto.  I then exported them to a file on my desktop.
I then imported the edited pics from that desktop file back into Aperture into a new Project.
Now, my problem is how to get the newly edited and imported images in the Project into the same "artful" sequence as in the original Album.  (My ultimate goal is to create a new Slideshow.)
    (1) Do I just have to laboriously manually (re-)sequence the Project to match the Album from which they were exported? or is there a shortcut? (I have only tried using Stacks once, if that is relevant.)
    (2)  How should I have done this in the first place? since I like editing in iPhoto:  Instead of sequencing in Aperture, just exported the Album to iPhoto, edited, import back to Aperture -- and then done my creative sequencing.
    (3) Where should I go to read/learn about this (in Aperture Manual and/or elsewhere)?

I'm with Kirby and want you to pick one or the other to 'edit' your photos. Offhand, there aren't any iPhoto editing features that aren't easily available in Aperture. (And one or two iPhoto 'features' like Vignette are miserable.) Reading about "Adjustments" should point you in the right direction. Aperture's Presets>QuickFix>AutoEnhance does much of what Enhance does in iPhoto, then tweak the Highlights and Shadows.
Also, Exporting, fiddling, and re-Importing might lead to confusion about what/which is the original Master image, which Aperture takes some trouble to keep you from messing up.
That said, and because it might be useful in another context, you can rename the image versions when you export them and prepend a digit-counter. That will give you a set of named files that will sort pretty easily and (re)import in the sequence you want. I'm saying this because you may also want to send someone a group of photos that you arranged in a specific order and you want them to naturally appear that way in their email, on a USB stick, or whatever.
In the Export screen, pick the Name Format field and Edit the stock names. Create a new one (click the '+' at the bottom) and make one that says "Counter 'space' Version Name", setting the number of digits appropriate for your export. (You want 001, 002, 003,... , not 1,2,3,... or you will have some sorting problems.)
    Make sense?

  • How can I manage the sequence of photos viewed on the Apple TV via i Tunes Home Share?  The photos in my directory are sequenced, they display in random order in the slide show.

I am accessing a directory of photos on my network, using Home Share within iTunes.  The photos are displayed in random sequence, which is not helpful for an organized slide show.   Any ideas on sequencing the photos?

Actually it appears that the sequence is likely by date/time.   Filename is DEFINITELY NOT the sequence.  I am trying to create a slideshow in iPhoto, fool the date problem by changing all dates to today, and sequencing by filename.  A very cumbersome process to an illogical problem, does not make sense to me at all.
    Thanks for trying to help.

  • My apple TV will not show my iPhotos travel photos in sequence. I set up a sequence of photos that STAY in sequence when viewing in iPhoto on my iMac, but they do not show in sequence when my Apple TV shows them on my TV screen. My Apple TV is MC 572C/A

My Apple TV will not show my photos in iPhoto on my iMac in the same sequence of images that I can see when viewing the iPhoto photos on my iMac. This is especially frustrating when I try to show my travel pictures in sequence on my TV. I have to resort to showing them on my iMac which defeats the principle purpose for purchasing my MacTV. Does anyone have a solution?
My Apple TV is Model MC 572C/A and the software is 5.2.1 (6025)
My iMac is Mac OSX version 10.7.5
    THANKS!

I can't recall whether slideshows are ordered by title or date, but you can manually re-arrange the albums in iPhoto, then batch change them once you have the order you want.

  • Importing a sequence of photos

Hi, I am sure this is a newbie problem, but I am a newbie.
How can i import over 700 photos into the stage, automatically
creating a new frame for each photo so they play in sequence. I
need this for a stop frame animation project. I have done some
research and apparantly flash does this automatically if I open a
new doc, new keyframe, highlight it, file > import > import
to stage, then select my photo sequence, which is numbered 1 - 734.
It is then supposed to recognise the sequence and do it all for me.
Not only is it not doing this it is also resizing my photos.
    Help!!

If your sequence is properly numbered then when you import
    the first image
Flash will say something like ' sequence detected - should I
    import the
sequence or just this image?' If it's resizing anything on
    import then it's
probably because the images are not 72dpi.

  • Quickest way to lift brightness of a sequence of photos

    Dear All,
I have a sequence of stills which are all too dark. What's the quickest way to raise the brightness of the all the pictures by the same amount?
    Many thanks,
    Damon

If you use photoshop, you could make the changes with that to the original linked files in FC. The changes you make to the linked media will (or should) update your sequence.
If you have lots of photos that need the same adjustment, you can create an "action" in PS. This would save lots of time.
The key here is making a change to the file that is being used in your project. My preference would be to use PS for this. And be prepared for some re-rendering.

  • Sequencing of photos when streaming to iCloud

    HI All
I recently streamed a project to icloud from aperture.
I altered the order of photos in my Aperture project workflow (i.e. from the original chronological as taken). Having seen stories of streamed photo sequencing in icloud reverting to the original chronological, I then updated the metadata time of the affected photos (via metadata / adjust date and time (applying to originals as well)) to make sure the order of my photos in Aperture was now a forced "chronological", and would stream in that order.
However, when I streamed to icloud, my photos revert in the original order I took them.
I tried re starting aperture / rebooting, and even exported versions in the right and order and reimported them.....but it always reverts to the original chronological order.
Any idea what I am doing wrong ?
    Many thanks
    Paul

I have set up a new photo stream (i.e. I have highlighted the photos in my project, and gone to share > icloud > new photo stream)
Then you created a new "Shared" photo stream. This stream should order the photos you add in exactly the order you add them to the stream - I always add them one by one - if I select more than one photo at a time, the results appear to be random.
It should not matter if you created the stream yourself or someone else set it up.
The time stamp will matter in "my Photo Stream", not in a Shared Stream.
"Metadata > Adjust Date and Time" should change the the EXIF date, if you use the option to apply the changes to the original image file.

  • Adjusting Sequence Layer Photos

With 20 images I sequence the layers. The sequence plays out for four minutes.I adjust the Composition setting, duration ; and in Animation, sequence layers, duration. I keep making adjustments and end up with at a best four minute timeline. I cannot figure out how to adjust every photo so that in sequence they fit into the audio track.
I always render so that I can import into Premiere Pro to see how the slideshow fits into the audio track. The audio track is 10 minutes. How do I increase the 20 layers of images so that the slideshow can play out for the duration of the 10 minute audio track?

I don't understand what you are saying. If you need a comp that's 10 minutes long you set that in the Composition Settings. If you want the composition to match the length of your audio track then either set the composition to the same length in the composition settings or drag the audio track into the new composition icon at the bottom of the Project Panel.
If you trim the photo layers to the length you need and set their in and out points they will match the audio.
If you don't know how to do any of this then please go through the Getting Started with AE materials provided as a link on the main page of this forum.

  • Is it possible to maintain the shooting sequence of photos uploaded to My Photo Steam?

When I upload photos to My Photo Steam the sequence of the photos is altered.  So any shots taken in 'burst' mode will not appear in order - usually the middle shots of the burst sequence are moved to either the beginiing or the end of the seqence.  (so, for example, when reviewing a sequence in My Photo Stream - you see a basketball player take a shot before he dribbles towards the basket...)  The photos do appear in order in Aperture (and in any other photo sharing site), but just no in My Photo Stream.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

I wonder, why you are seeing more than one photo of a burst of photos in the PhotoStream at all. According to the "Photo Stream FAQ" only the final selected photo of a burst will upload to the Photo Stream, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486
Are all of the photos taken with burst mode or image stabilization on my iPhone 5s saved to My Photo Stream?
No. Only the final photos that you select when using burst mode, and only the final composite image shot with image stabilization are added to My Photo Stream.

  • Sequence for Photos in iPad slide show.

My iPad seems to organize photos by date taken. Is there a way for me to get it to organize by file name? I made a custom slide show that won't play in the right order.

Not yet, although it seems an obvious thing to add. To request the same, use the FEEDBACK FORM — http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • Photos are dark and cannot be used in slideshow mode.  Also cannot move photos in a sequence.  Also photos will not move from grid to add to another collection.

Lightroom 4, photos are dark when in slideshow mode.  Therefore, cannot create a slideshow.  Cannot move photos from grid to add to another collection.  Also cannot change sequence of photos.  Have searched multiple  times for troubleshooting help online with no resolution available.

Just to clarify my problem with the "dark photos"....when in slideshow mode, photos are dark and state "no photo selected"  I've created multiple slideshows and this was never an issue.  Just downloaded updates as well for Lightroom 4 and this didn't seem to help either.

  • Can I import 50 photos in a sequence with 1s duration each, as batch?

    Hi guys,
Complete noobie here with Premiere Pro, I'm looking to create an intro video that's just a fast paced sequence of photos.
I have about 50 photos to import, I'd like to batch add them all with a default of 1s duration (or less).
The reason I need this is because it's very time consuming to go one by one and then adjust the in-out point to match 1s (instead of the 5s default).
    Thank you so much,
    -Sergiu

You can go into Edit > Preferences and set the default duration for stills to 30 frames, then Import all the stills and they will be one second each.
I like your style - I'm going to boost my rating by posting questions and then marking myself correct, brilliant ;-)

  • Photo Sequence in an Album

Just imported into my iPhoto 6 library 1,300 photos from my daughter's wedding. I created an album titled "Mary's Wedding" and moved the 1,300 photos from the library into this album. Within "Mary's Wedding" album, I spent hours rearranging the sequence of the photos, and now it is just right. I want to send the photos via DVD to a couple of friends, and must burn the photos on to two DVDs, because they are too large for one DVD. Thus I created two new albums, "Mary 1" and Mary 2", and moved the first half of "Mary's Wedding" into "Mary 1", and the second half into "Mary 2". The problem is the photo sequence from "Mary's Wedding" (where I invested all my time) is lost in "Mary 1" and "Mary 2", and the photo sequence in these latter two albums reverted back to the sequence from the Library. How can I maintain the same sequence I created in "Mary's Wedding" as I transfer the photos from "Mary's Wedding" into "Mary 1" and "Mary 2"? Thank you - buster

    TD
Thank you. I resolved the sequence issue by following your suggestion, Photo > Batch Change > and then went to Set Date > and I set the time on the first photo to 12:00 am and then adjusted the time sequence to 1 min between photos. This seems to work. Too bad Apple doesn't have a better approach for letting the sequence of photos in albums to remain the same, once established.
    Thanks,
    Buster

  • PSE 8 some photos will not autoimport when creating an photobook and block the whole sequence. Are there knows reasons why individual photos can hang the import? Thanks Michael

When creating photobooks with PSE 8 I find occasionally that certain photos block the autoimport function and none of the sequence are loaded into the new photobook. Using the identical setting to create a photobook other sequences of photos work perfectly. The photos have been checked and found and all are connected and recognised. Are there knows issues with some photo formats which will not autoimport when creating a photobook?
    Thanks for the help.
    Michael

Sometimes LR can be "nudged" into showing folder relationships which better match the file system, by using the "show parent folder" command. When existing folders appear as if they were "top level" in the drive, we can see a more or less virtual picture of the situation, rather than anything real. So newly added folders can sometimes present themselves as if independent of what is already there.
By forcing LR to show a fuller hierarchy of folders, more attention gets paid to the actual arrangement - so new and existing folders should "wake up" and thereafter appear more reliably in the right relationships.
