Sequence order of a Slide Show exported?

I just spent some time reordering 86 pictures in a slideshow in an order I like. Now I'd like to make a web gallery in the same order. I "Share" my pictures with myself via email to get 640X480 Jpegs but they retain the file names my camera gave them and assume that order when I use Adobe Photoshop's Batch Web Photo Gallery Action Hero. Can that Slidewhow be made into a web gallery, album, book, or...? Or should I have done my sequencing in an Album first. Thanks.

Since you have the symptom of black images for slide show editor preview playback and the output file, I wonder
1 -- if the Windows userid under which you are running has Administrator authority ?
If not, then using an Administrator userid may solve your problem.
It has been a relatively common problem in various versions of PSE to have the black screen on the playback within the PSE slide show editor if you run under some type of limited authority Windows userid. Then the problem of no image in the output video also happens.
2 -- What version of PSE and what operating system are you running?
If point 1 did not resolve your problem .....
What other versions of PSE (including trials) have you had installed on this computer ?  Which version of PSE was installed most recently ?
There have been some experiences where installing a new version of PSE (even a trial) looses some settings required for the slideshow editor of a previously installed version.

  • How to change slide order in a slide show, in Photoshop Elements Organizer.

In Photoshop Elements Organizer, how do you change the slide order in a slide show?

Start by placing the images in an Album. Then select Album Order.
You can drag the photos into order and they then remain fixed.
Use the Album as a basis for the slideshow.

  • Random order for a slide show?

How do you select a random order for a slide show?

    You rang?
I had actually started working on this sometime in the past when this question was asked before. I never got around to finishing it but I cobbled this together this AM:
    set newList to {}
    tell application "Aperture"
      activate
              set imageSel to (the selection)
              if imageSel is {} then
                        error "Select images."
              else
repeat until (count of newList) = (count of imageSel)
set randomPick to random number from 1 to (count of imageSel)
if randomPick is not in newList then set newList's end to randomPick
                        end repeat
repeat with i from 1 to count of newList
                                  tell item i of imageSel to make new custom tag with properties {name:"Random", value:item i of newList}
                        end repeat
              end if
    end tell
Takes a selection and assigns random numbers to each image in the selection,
Creates a custom tag Random and populates it with numbers. If you add the custom field Random to the list view metadata parameters you can sort on it and then switch back to icon view and the images will remain in the random order.
You have to be careful if you change the sort order of course the randomness will be gone and you will need to go back to list view to re-establish it.

  • How can I manage the sequence of photos viewed on the Apple TV via i Tunes Home Share?  The photos in my directory are sequenced, they display in random order in the slide show.

I am accessing a directory of photos on my network, using Home Share within iTunes.  The photos are displayed in random sequence, which is not helpful for an organized slide show.   Any ideas on sequencing the photos?

Actually it appears that the sequence is likely by date/time.   Filename is DEFINITELY NOT the sequence.  I am trying to create a slideshow in iPhoto, fool the date problem by changing all dates to today, and sequencing by filename.  A very cumbersome process to an illogical problem, does not make sense to me at all.
    Thanks for trying to help.

  • Slide Show export Error

Whenever I create a slide show and try to export it to iDVD I get an error message that says 'Export movie file could not be saved'.
I can export single pictures without any problem but cannot export the slide show to either iDVD or as a file.
Any idea what the problem may be? I'm using iPhoto 5.0.4 and OS 10.4.3. I've deleted .plist files and that didn't solve the issue.
    Thanks,
    Doug

Lori, I guess I should have mentioned that I tried that suggestion after browsing the forum. I do have a Movies Folder.
I opened iDVD and started a new project. Left iDVD open and tried to export the slide show- same error message. I then quit iDVD and tried again-same error message.
I get the same error message when trying to export to iDVD and when just doing a straight export so I don't think it has anything to do with iDVD.
    Thanks,
    Doug

  • Using FCE to improve an iPhoto slide show exported DV file

    Hello everyone
I was looking for a quick good way to create a slide show easily, without manually adding various transitions, panning etc....
Well, iPhoto makes a great slide show, fast n easy music and all.
I've exported a Slide Show as a 'Large Sized DV File'.
Only problem, as everyone knows, the iPhoto Slide Shows look great on a high resolution computer screen, but when using the exported DV file on a DVD, it's not as good.
I have found however, that re-importing it into FCE, rendering it, and re-exporting it, produces better results when this DV File is used on the DVD.
Anyone have any comments about this?
    Thanx

  • Audio in slide show exported to iDVD

According to Apple, when a Keynote slide show is exported to iDVD, any audio in the slideshow is written to a separate file which is not referenced in iDVD and so won't be burned onto a DVD with the images. This means that the iDVD project and the audio file have to be imported to iMovie and edited before burning to DVD (what a mess!!!), but I recently was successful in exporting a slideshow to iDVD (God knows how!!! - I've not been able to do it since), and the audio was retained and played with the movie.
Does anyone out there have any idea how this happened? Like I say, I've not been able to export a Keynote slide show to iDVD since. After a total of 5 attempts and about 36 hours, I still have not succeeded in creting an iDVD project with my latest slide show of 184 images, never mind the sound track.
Please don't tell me I have to move to Microsoft!!!!

Just played it on my iMac and the audio is fine. The track plays twice yet I have it set to fit to audio dissolve. The track is 3:44 and I have 78 pictures. iDVD make the slide show 7:29

  • Random order for slide show?

I have a lot of pictures in an album that I would like put in random order for a slide show. I want to burn that to a dvd to play at our day care centers (pics of the kids throughout the summer). is there any way to do this other than dragging and dropping the pictures manually? that takes a lot of time.

OK. Well here's a helpful answer. Someone's already written a quick Applescript for adding random numbers to every file in a folder. I added a little bit to the beginning and the end to let you be able to just drag and drop the folder onto the file, but give full credit to the poster
    Steps:
    (1) Open the Applescript Editor:
    Finder->Applications->Apple Script->Script Editor.app
    (2) In a new Script copy and paste the following text:
    --start copying
    on open the_Droppings
    tell application "Finder"
set separator to ("_") as text
set source to the_Droppings as alias
    set destination to make new folder at source with properties {name:"Shuffled"}
set shuffle_pool to duplicate files of source to destination
    set shuffle_count to count shuffle_pool
    set duplicates to {}
    repeat with shuffle_file in shuffle_pool
    repeat
set an_item to random number from 1 to shuffle_count
if an_item is not in duplicates then exit repeat
    end repeat
    shuffle_file as alias
set name of result to an_item & separator & name of result as string
set end of duplicates to an_item
    end repeat
    end tell
    end open
    -- stop pasting here
    (3) File->Save As
    (4) Type in a name for the file and IMPORTANT save it as an application.
    (5) Place all the images that you want to randomize into any folder. (In iPhoto6: File->Export from an album or; in iPhoto5: Share->Export)
    (6) Drag the folder with your images onto the little application that you saved from the Script Editor
    (7) The Script will create a new folder inside whatever folder you dropped on it called "Shuffled".
    (8) Now if you do an Edit->Add Slideshow in iDVD you can just drag the contents of the Shuffled folder to iDVD and you're done! It'll make a DVD in seconds! Now if only you could set the time to more than 10 seconds!

  • Slide show dislplay order, am I doing something wrong?

I want my entire Library to run as a slide show so I selected it and then clicked the slide show button. The slide show appears in the source pane but the images in the opposite order that I want them to play, and the View>Sort Photos menu is all grayed out.
I thought maybe I might have to create a new album in order set the display order of the slide show, so I did that and dragged all 6000 or so images to the new album. I then selected the album and clicked the Slide Show button, but alas, I got the same result.
It appears that iPhoto won't display images in slide show in anything but Ascending order, is that correct? Am I missing something?
    Thanks.

    Hi Old Toad,
In anything other than a slide show (main library, albums and smart albums), I can change the display direction. The option to change display order from ascending to descending, however, is grayed out in the slide show so I can't change it. Plus, even if the album is sorted by descending order, iPhoto, when it creates a slide show from the album, automatically sorts it in ascending order. I'm thinking it's a bug.

  • Lightroom 3 Slide Show Quality Issues Anyone?

I am experiencing slideshow quality issues with LR 3.2 using Canon 5D MKII 21 Mp RAW files. My Canon Digital Rebel 6 Mp RAW files produced high-quality slideshow PDFs using LR1 and LR2. The 5DMKII RAW files produce soft PDF imaging, regardless of preview rendering or slide show export settings in LR3, and I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING! I then went back and tried doing a LR3.2 slideshow PDF with my Digital Rebel 6Mp files and they are much higher resolution, regardless of the settings in LR 3.2 – The exact opposite of my 5DMKII slideshows. Go figure, the 6Mp images are superior in LR 3 slideshow than the 21Mp 5DMKII images!
I developed a simple work around that improves the quality of slideshow PDFs when using larger Mpixel file images:
    1)      Select the images you want use for your slideshow and export them to JPEG, sRGB, 80-100% Quality, Resize to fit: 1536 x 1024 Resolution, NO Output Sharpening
    2)      Import the 1536 x 1024 JPEG files and place them into a collection, sort their order, and add caption or title information if needed.
    3)      Open the collection in Slideshow Module and select a template you like, or create your own custom template.
    4)      Play the slideshow and let it create previews when prompted. Adjust slideshow template settings until happy with the layout.
    5)      When finished with the slide show template, save as it as a ‘New Template’ for future use.
    6)      Next select ‘Export PDF Slideshow,’ Quality 80-100, Width 1600, Height 1200, and Save.
    7)      View the slideshow ‘Full Screen’ in PDF reader. It should have much higher resolution than normal slideshow export when using > 8 Mp files.
It takes a few extra steps, but not much additional time to create slideshows using this method.
Adobe must be aware of this problem, and probably does not apply sharpening to files >8Mp for PDF slideshow export to correct for over sharpening of Portrait images. This is just a guess! If you export RAW images to full size JPEGs and use these JPEG files to create a PDF slideshow, the Portrait images will look over-sharpened in Adobe reader! Using my work around process, the landscape and portrait images appear fairly uniform in sharpness, even though the portrait images are 2/3 the resolution of the portrait images ( 1024 x 683 versus 1536 x 1024). This is one of the issues Adobe needs to correct with the Slideshow Module PDF Export program module.
That must be hard to do! Let’s see, who is the developer of Acrobat and PDF format…Oh I forgot it’s ADOBE! As a 45-year veteran of the computer technology industry I've seen worse things, but this is very disappointing when you consider Lightroom is now a “mature” version 3 generation program! Yes, Separate slideshow programs are available, but why should you need to use one if all you want is “basic” slideshow capability!

After much trial and error I discovered using the 'Widescreen' template provided in the slideshow module provides very sharp imaging for PDF export. I haven't tried video export, but I would assume it is similar. I cannot explain why this is, because even when I change the guides from 0px to say 60px (i.e. no longer widescreen fill) the images are sharper than using any other template.
Try using 'Widescreen' template. Then try adjusting the guides using 'Widescreen’ template, and save as a new user template. I have no idea why it makes a difference, but it does!

  • Slide Shows not behaving

I just spent last night going over iphoto 09 and found it very frustrating how the slide show settings would not change when requested.
To begin with I would create a new slide show, then adjust the settings and play. Sometimes the inital settings edit would work, but after the second edit on the settings it would revert to the initial settings. Any clues?

Same problem here, check out what I just wrote to Apple. Sorry it is lengthy but I like putting all the details.
Hello Apple, I have some bugs to report about the slide show ability in iPhoto iLife09. There just was an update for iPhoto, that was for a few things plus slide show export. After that up it seems like this problem is a little worse. For the bulk of us who just want to use iPhoto for the sideshow "not export" right now I can't. I've had this issue for a while, where I want to play songs from one of my play lists but only the first song will play now nothing at all. When I just last tried to play one, the slide show played no music and I could not get out of it period. Esc, Apple Q, control option esc, nothing worked, the photos for some reason where also cut off only showing half or only a third of the photos. Right now on my system there is a serious bug, glitch, or something causing this. Please help, I still love the other features to much now like the faces and places to go back to the iLife 08 version. I really need the slide show to perform well to show my photos off to others. Using iTunes was a pain but it was a work around, but now with the photos not even showing correctly I can't use it.

  • How do I make a DVD of my slide show

Made a slide show, exported it to iTunes where it now resides in "home movies" as a video.  How can I make a DVD of my slide show?

If you right click on the movie in iTunes and choose "Show in Finder" you can then drag and drop the movie into the theme of your choice in iDVD.  More information on iDVD here: http://www.apple.com/support/idvd/
