Sequence preset H.264 Extreme High Quality (XHQ) 50Mbps for JVC GY-HM 850e

Hi there,
I'm wondering if there is ( or coming soon)  a sequence preset for the new JVC GY-HM850e for editing in the H.264 Extreme High Quality (XHQ) 50Mbps mode.
I'm using Adobe premiere CS 6
Regards,
Martin Beeren

It's not that CS6 isn't 'supported'.  You can still get help for it, it will still receive bug fixes and whatever updates are needed to work with new Operating Systems.  But CC is the latest version, and it's pretty common practice for companies to put new features only in the newest version.
It's common for hardware, too.  How often do you see the dealer adding new features to the car you bought last year?  Normally you need to buy this year's model to get the new features.  The only difference is that you can no longer buy, you have to lease.  Some don't like that and will do without the new features.  But the warranty on last year's model is still good.
Once again, you can get the needed sequence by right clicking on a clip in the bin and selecting New Sequence from Clip.

What is the best video converter for high quality MPEG-4 for Apple TV?

Handbrake won't convert AVI files, But there are many more than those mentioned that will
The choice of conversion software is a personal choice, I have around a dozen applications that will tackle AVI's, however VisualHub is not one of them, not because there is anything wrong with it but rather I have enough such applications in my arsenal already.
I would use mpegstreamclip in most scenarios for what you are wanting to do but maybe not always. It is a good idea to have a few applications to choose from as not all do the same thing. mpegstreamclip has a few more options than some bog standard applications without becoming overburdening with choices.
You might want to try a few applications yourself before deciding on the software for you. isquint is a free limited version of visualhub, you might want to give that a whirl to get a feeling for visualhub.
Be aware though that quality conversions do not happen quickly, claims of being faster than other applications may well be correct, but are usually a trade off against quality. Again you need to choose your software to reflect your preferred balance between speed and quality.
Here's how I use mpegstreamclip, http://web.me.com/gartside1104/z008/Mpegstreamclip.html but your AVI's may well be low quality, you shouldn't set the bitrate any higher than your source file and likely lower, you shouldn't increase the frame size either.

  • High Quality Wide Screen for YouTube - PLEASE HELP!

I am using a Panasonic PV-GS400 camera in wide-screen mode (this is another topic, but the camera still outputs 720 x 480 video, my understanding is that it is called "anamorphic wide screen"). I had figured out some settings to get my videos to appear in "High Quality" mode, wide screen (16:9) in YouTube, but the last couple of times I have tried these settings, they didn't work. Here's what I used:
    - Windows Media 856 x 480 frame size
    - Frame rate 29.97kbps
    - Pixel aspect ratio - square (1.0)
    - 2 encoding passes
I got the 856 x 480 ratio from another website. I don't really understand why the pixel aspect ratio needs to be square, but when I tried 16:9 aspect ratio, the video is letterboxed. I also don't understand the two different project modes for PE7 (when creating a new project you can choose the format 4:3 or 16:9). Maybe someone can explain how the widescreen project setting works. Perhaps it is something similar to how my camera does widescreen but the videos are still 720 x 480.
At any rate, if someone has settings that will reliably produce wide screen videos that appear in YouTube's "high quality" mode, I'd appreciate it! Thanks.

As we often say on this forum, the biggest challenge with working with YouTube is that, as soon as someone figures it out, YouTube changes the rules again.

  • High quality format conversion for .mod files?

I'm using MPEG Streamclip to convert .mod files to formats acceptable to FCE 3.0. I've tried a few dozen possibilities, but the files are either unreasonably huge (687 MB for 23 seconds of video) or of poor quality. Does anyone know of a high quality format that requires something on the order of 3.6 MB/min? A previous post (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4815749&#4815749) recommends DV or HDV, but MPEG Streamclip gives many options for DV. Any help would be much appreciated.

They come from a Panasonic SDR-H200. The .mod clip in MPEG Streamclip looks great. Here's the information MPEG Streamclip gives for the clip:
    Type: MPEG program stream
    Duration: 0:00:23
    Data Size: 12.48 MB
    Bit Rate: 4.45 Mbps
    Video Tracks:
    224 MPEG-2, 704 × 480, 4:3, 29.97 fps, 9.54 Mbps, upper field first
    Audio Tracks:
    128 AC3 2/0, 48 kHz, 256 kbps
    Stream Files:
    MOV001.MOD (12.48 MB)

  • Need a high quality Bluetooth Headset for my Nokia...

    Hi everyone
can any of you recommend a really good Bluetooth Headset for my Nokia N80 ?
want something with crystal clear sound, no distortion and one that fits nice and snuggly without being uncomfortable...
    Thanks....

Hi, I use the Nokia HB-900 with my black N80 and they work flawlessly together, PTT is perfect, Voice quality is like nothing you have ever exprienced in a bluetooth headset, the noice canceling in BH-900 and the extended boom truely sets this headset apart from what you have used before and the long battery life is just great. i realy like the look of it and it is the only headset i actualy wear in public without feeling stange, its pretty light and comfortable, i forget i am wearing it and it doesn't swing around or move when i turn my head, it's quality is good and matches the n80 finish ( i have the one with the black extendable boom ) and works perfectly, it also has a blue light on it that matches the blue light on my n80. it's worth every penny. when i use it the people on the other end of the line do not believe that i am using a cellphone as the voice quiality is great due to digital voice processor and the noise cancelation of BH-900, you can't go wrong whit this one.

  • How to save large + high quality JPEG / PNG for website?

I use Photoshop CS3 to resize and reduce JPEG / PNG images via the "save for web". What is the standard image size in terms of KB for website?
Now, let's say the original image taken from a Nikon D3200 Camera has a standard size of 6016 px X 4000 px and the image quality is PERFECT at 6.5 MB file size.
How can I use Photoshop CS3 to save and maintain the standard size 6016 px X 4000 px, the same image quality but the file size is reduced to maybe 100kb?
    Many thanks & regards
    FSM

    Dear Silkrooster,
I totally agree with you but may I ask what is 3MP? Is it Megapixels or Megabytes? If Megabytes, don't you think 3MB will slow down the loading time of the website?
I want crispy clear images like many websites do. But I am really not sure how other websites do it. Lets refer to Apple website. It has many good quality images and the loading speed is very fast because each images weight around 40KB.
Ok. For my website, I am forced to reduce the size to 600 px X 300 px or 500 px X 350 px. To get around 40KB each i have to use the lowest quality for JPEG which is 10. The end result is TERRIBLE.
My website is also slower to load compare to others. So the question is, what is the optimum setting for resizing for photoshop to be use for web purposes?
    My main website: 风水
Initially I inserted a background image with the size 1920 px X 4000 px (because scrolling). Loading time is bad. Then I cut half and inserted only for top background image with the size 1920 x 700 px but this image is still the last to load. How can I make it even smaller in size but maintain good and sharp quality?
    Another page: 八字因果
At the first image, once I resized it and set a lower quality, the text "fengshuimaster8u.com" turns blurry.
The issue, is Photoshop capable of resizing images to good quality with a smaller size or do I need to use another program?
    Sorry for the long post.
    Thanks a lot

Anything can be recorded that isn't copyrighted on the Mac.  Look only as far as SnapZ Pro:

  • High Quality music player for OSX Tiger

    Hi
I am looking for some help :-
I have recently picked up a second hand imac g5, 1.8ghz, 2gb ram, 160gb hdd, runnning OSX Tiger
I am trying to find a decent music player, capable of playing alac & flac, up to 24/96khz
I have managed to find something called "Play" however, to me, its not that good
My second issue is how do I set the mac to out via USB in the music files native format, I have a variety of files range from flac/alac 16/44.1 up to 24/96
I kind find a setting in midi to change the output, however, that appears to just fix the output rate rather than play the native rate
    Hoping someone can help me

I don't know much about those formats, but have you checked Audacity?

  • Export Media Question re H.264 PAL DV Widescreen High Quality

    Using Premiere Pro CS4.
Why is the movie that I export being squashed into the 4:3 (tall and skinny) syndrome when I export using the following settings and view in Quicktime Player 7.6?
I captured the video straight from my video camera as DV AVI PAL 720 x 576 (1.4587).
I export the media as follows:
    Format: H.264
Preset: PAL DV Widescreen High Quality
    Summary - PAL, 720 x 576, 25FPS
It seems to be only happening with my .mp4 exports!?  i.e. the 16:9 ratio is perfect when I export to Microsoft AVI.
The really bizarre thing is I uploaded a squashed looking video to my Vimeo account and it displayed correctly (16:9) after processing!  Why then doesn't it play correctly in Quicktime Player?
Am I missing something in the Quicktime Player settings?
    Please help!

Here is how to correct this issue in the QT file permanently so it opens in a QT player correctly .
Open your mov in QT Pro
    Show Movie Properties  (Ctrl-J)
    Click on Video Track
    Click on Visual Settings Tab
Un check the Preserve Aspect Ratio box
(Here is where you now need to do some math to change the 4x3 to 16:9 ratio)
Divide the Vertical Pixel Dimension  by 1.78 and enter the result in the Vert Dimension box
Ensure the Preserve Aspect Ratio box is UNCHECKED
Hit Tab key and notice the image in the QT window change.
In the QT Window Menu - File>Save  (Save is important!)
    Heres an example:
    QT movie Original is 320x240
    Divide 240 x1.78    ( ie. 240/1.78=134)
    Bingo!

  • H.264 Video Export Quality Options - Why no difference?

Hi all, first post so go easy on me!
I've been playing with the various options for exporting videos to H.264 as the original files are just too large. Lightroom 5.5 gives the impression that each quality option should result in a different output file size:
Max: "As close to source as possible"
High: "High quality, but with a possible reduction in video bit rate"
Medium: "Suitable for web sharing and higher end tablets"
    Low: "Suitable for mobile devices"
I tested the output for a source file with a resolution of 1280x720, 30.000fps, bit rate 512kbps file size of 369 MB and got the following results:
    Source
    Resolution: 1280x720
    Bit Rate: 512kbps
    File Size: 369 MB
Max / High / Medium - all identical
    Resolution: 1280x720
    Bit Rate: 253kbps
    File Size: 108 MB
    Low
    Resolution: 480x270
    Bit Rate: 125kbps
    File Size: 19 MB
Any reason why the Max, High and Medium options would all be identical? The only thing I could think of is that the higher options are for higher quality videos, and for movies taken with my compact digital, there isn't enough scope to differentiate between the various options.
This is still disappointing as the difference between 108 MB and 19 MB is quite substantial. I'd hope the High and Medium options would offer alternatives in between.
Not having used Lightroom for long, I was unsure whether I've just encountered a bug or whether this is normal behaviour and if so, why this is the case. I've looked for options to change the default resolutions for the different quality levels but it looks to be hard-coded as I couldn't find a setting.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I think you need to start with a higher-resolution and bitrate file to start with to see more variation between the higher settings.
I say this because I just tried a 1920x1080x22Mbps MP4 video file from my phone and Max and High are the same, but Medium steps down to 1280x720x8Mbps and Low is 480x270x1Mbps.
I expect you’d have variation between all the quality settings if you started with a 4K video file.

  • High-quality YouTube videos keep crashing.  What should I do???

Whenever I open a higher quality youtube video on ipad, it plays for a couple of seconds and then it crashes and sends me back to the Home screen.  I tried to updating it to the latest version of iOS about a week and a half ago, and that helped at first.  Now it's starting to do it again.  Any suggestions?  Is this happening to anyone else?

iPad video is limited to 720p video.
If the problem videos are 1080p, the iPad may have trouble with or crash the YouTube app.
I am assuming you are using the YouTube app on the iPad?
There are apps that claim to run 1080p video on iPad, but these apps produce their own issues, video artifacts and problems and aren't very reliable as a solution to watching higher resolution video on iPad.
Maybe future versions of iPad will be able to handle higher quality video, but for now, it's not possible.

  • Importing high quality video through a lower-quality camera

    (Final Cut 5 in a G5, 10.5.8)
The camcorder I'm using to shoot video for my Final Cut projects is a Panasonic PV-GS400, a good 3-chip mini-DV camcorder that shoots high-quality DV (original price $1500).
I would prefer not to use this camera to play the video into Final Cut, to save wear and tear on its tape drive (with tape, of course, one hour of recorded video takes one hour to play into Final Cut).
I have an inexpensive little Canon Elura 100 Mini-DV camcorder (original price $400) that could be used to play the tapes from the Panasonic into Final Cut, but if I did that, would the higher quality of the Panasonic's video be degraded to the lower level of the Canon's video when passing through?
To put it another way, can a Mini-DV tape with high quality video on it be imported through a relatively low-quality camera into Final Cut and still retain its high quality?
    Thanks for any help.
    Tom

Thanks much, guys. Yes, I'm using firewire. Glad to hear there's no loss of quality when the video is strained through a lesser camcorder on its way into Final Cut.
So now I'll go ahead and use the little Canon Elura as my playback/ingest camera with no worries.
    I appreciate the help!

For DVD you can't use H.264.  You need MPEG2-DVD.

  • Rendering high quality

    Hello,
I have edited video with sequence 1920x1080 (1.0) 25 fps and 48000 hz audio stereo.
SO What is the best quality export and whats is the best format for the export.
I need the render with a high quality because it will be playedback on tv screen looping itself like receptions at hotels.
    PLEASE ADVISE.
    Thanks

There is no one perfect solution for every need. The "Best" export option for you is the one that suits your purposes. HOW will the video be played back, from a laptop, media player, Blu-ray, what? Most likely, you will be looking at some form of H.264 encoding, but there are many variables that can be adjusted. You can try a YouTube or Vimeo preset for instance, or there are "HDTV" options also. Do some experiments (export short samples) and compare results. You'll be looking for playback compatibility with the player device, and quality of the video to meet your needs.
