Sequences import?

I can't find any mention of sequences import in FC Server? Can it be done? TGA or JPG ?
If not I suppose it is a bit useless for a post-production company.

Hi,
you can also use a watchfolder to create single assets for every image of the sequence and use the search devices option to find it as a sequence or you can upload the sequence to a device and use the search devices option to create only on asset from one image as a representation for this image sequence.
You can export from the device where the sequences are stored to any selected format or use it as edit-in-place.
It works with any standard image-sequence.

  • Compressor 3.0.5 Image Sequence import missing

    I'm looking at this article
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/compressor/usermanual/index.html#chapter=6%26s ection=2%26tasks=true
but I do not have any import option for my version of Compressor 3.0.5. Why? How can I import an image sequence into Compressor?

Nick is right. QT7 is a better choice.
Make sure your images are numbered sequentially.
    Open up QT7.
    Select: File>Open Image Sequence
    Import the files,
    Select the Frame Rate
    Select Export
    Select Quicktime Movie then Options
Set the video codec and audio settings, etc.
    Export.
    Be happy.

  • Ok making progress on the image sequence importing but...

I have successfully imported images into Fireworks and then exported them for use in Edge using John Dunning's Edge Animate Extension. When I import them into Edge the only way to get them in is to import them as a symbol. Is there any other way or can I extract images in the symbol so they are in frames in the timeline? What I am trying to accomplish is using the scroll features in Muse so the animation animates when you use the scroll bar. As a symbol it just plays. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if it will help but you should avoid the extra dot in your image name. That's a known problem area. I'd put the images in a folder called Scene3_RH2_Exterior_Rbpm then name them something like S3RH2ExRbpm_0050.tif or even simpler just use the Rbpm_00050.tif
If you checked out the 0114 image and it's ok but as a single image but incorrect imported as a sequence then the numbering scheme is probably being misinterpreted.

  • Aspect Ratio wrong in sequence imported from FCP

I'm a reasonably experienced user of Final Cut who intends now to migrate to Premiere (leaving the sinking ship?) So, at present, I'm trying to import current projects from FCP into Premiere using XML.
The result for a large scale and pretty advanced project was disasterous losses, so I've decided to start with a much smaller project, which contains a single sequence in the same format as the media, 20 or so HDV 1080p25 clips, and a handful of wav sound files. The result is better, but there are two problems I've encountered:
    1. When I open the sequence in the timeline the aspect ratio, which should be 16:9 is squashed in to something more like 4:3. Opening a clip from the bin in the source monitor does not have this effect, but I can't work out how to rectify the change of aspect ratio when the sequence is playing in the program monitor. - Any tips?
    2. The audio file icons in the project imported into Premiere are unlinked. When I try reconnecting them, Premiere says it can't because of a 'header error'. - Any clues to what this means and why it should be?
    Thanks.

    Hello Jim Simon,
Yes, I've tried importing one of these wav files into a new project, but it Premiere won't allow me to. It comes up with a message saying:
"The file cannot be opened because of a header error".
    Any ideas?
PS. As this was a side issue to my main query, and the title of this thread doesn't refer to it and hence might make it hard for others to find, I've added a new query to cover this under the title: "Header Error when importing Wav files"

  • Maintain photo sequence importing to LR2?

A new LR2 user, I need to import 3000+  already edited bird photos from  Apple IPhoto albums, in which I had over several years painstakingly put the photos in each album in a sequence very different from date-based filenames. IPhoto allows me to export each album photo in my sequence to a folder on my computer, using a prefix and sequential numbers to replace the date-based filenames. When I import to LR2 from that folder by the "Add photos to catalog without moving" method in the LR2 import dialog box (and only that method) the photos DO come into the "current import"/ "previous import" section in LR2's Library/Catalog. But the moment I try to convert these photos, now sequenced properly for me in LR2, into an LR2 "Collection", LR 2 automatically converts all the photos back into a sequence by their original date-based filenames, a disaster for me. I cannot believe that LR2 does not contemplate the need for some photographers to import photos into LR2 in an already established non date-based sequence, and to keep them that way in LR2 Collections. I would greatly appreciate assistance on what I'm doing wrong and how to do it right to keep my original photo sequence.  Many thanks!

    TD
Thank you. I resolved the sequence issue by following your suggestion, Photo > Batch Change > and then went to Set Date > and I set the time on the first photo to 12:00 am and then adjusted the time sequence to 1 min between photos. This seems to work. Too bad Apple doesn't have a better approach for letting the sequence of photos in albums to remain the same, once established.
    Thanks,
    Buster

  • PP Sequences Imported as Footage Not Comp

Hello. I am having a sudden and strange problem.
I am trying to import a Premiere sequence into After Effects and am having the sequence show up as Footage. I have imported another sequence from the same project and it imported perfectly (sequential layers, footage, folders) but now my sequences are showing up as a timeline only viewable as one chunk of footage.
As a test, I tried to import the sequence that had imported flawlessly and now that one will not import as a comp, only footage.
When importing by File->Import->(click project) I see the drop down box for Import as: but I only have the option for Import as Footage, Import as Comp is greyed out. I get the Dynamic Link box for selecting the sequence, and it shows up as footage in AE.
When importing through File->Adobe Dynamic Link->(project name)->(sequence) I get the same result.
Am I missing something? Are there settings needed to be changed despite me not changing them in the first place?
    I am on a Mac Pro, 8-core 2.66Ghz, 12GB RAM, using CS4 Master Collection
    Thanks.

I could but I never had to do that before. Not even a week ago. It's a very strange turn of events.
    I have found a workaround:
    File->Import->Adobe Premiere Pro Sequence.
That imports the sequence as a comp the way it's always been for me in the past.
But still, it's just not working right the traditional way.

  • Flash CS5 Crashes During Image Sequence Import

    Hi,
I have a problem importing image sequences. I have an image sequence of 300 frames, 1280x720. They are JPEG images with a size of around 40kb per image, 11 MB in total. Usually it gets to around 270 frames telling from the status bar.
Sometimes I've managed to import all 300 frames. I've tried with totally different image sequences too. 100 images and even 200 is most of the time fine.
What could this be about? right now it's stopping me from working. Is Flash really this unstable? This can hardly be a performance issue.

How much RAM do you have?
Try a fresh reboot, don't open any apps except Flash (after windows finishes loading) and try your import.

  • Image Sequence Import Fail

    Two questions:
#1 Is it possilbe to create a mark in a QuickTime movie that the playback will automatically stop on, and then resume on a click? Hoping to be able to put several stop points into one video track for control...
    #2 (the Subject question)
I followed the instructions from Apple Quicktime Help file (pasted below message) and attempted to create a Image Sequence.
Step by step followed along, and all I get is one frame, one still picture...
As I create the slide show I also don't get any options other than 29.97 for frame rate.
This a failed feature on Windows machines?
Tested on MacBook Pro, works great. I get all kinds of options for frame rate and the slide show works as its supposed to.
I am on QT 7.4.1 (QT says its up to date), Windows XP, using .jpeg images for the sequence.
I can easily do this in AfterEffects and get way more control, movement, and all that stuff, but I don't always need to be so fancy!
Thanks for any help anyone can give!
    DIRECTIONS:
Put all the graphic files you want to include in a folder.
Name each file with the same name followed by an increasing number; for example, "picture1," "picture2."
Most digital cameras number files automatically. The numbers must be increasing but don't have to be precisely sequential (for example, you could name the files "picture1," "picture5," "picture10," and so on).
In QuickTime Player, choose File > Open Image Sequence, and then select the first file.
Choose a frame rate (the number of frames displayed per second) from the Frame Rate pop-up menu.
Slideshows usually work best when slides are shown at 2 to 3 seconds per frame.
QuickTime Pro creates the movie, which shows each picture in sequence.
Choose File > Save to name and save the movie.

    Hi Brian,
In reference to the Import sequence Failing I want to say that I have the same problem.
It's a surprise because I've been using this feature lots of times with no problem BEFORE I re-installed windows and Quicktime two weeks ago. I think Quicktime came with an upgrade when I re-installed. But so did the nVidia drivers...
For the frame rate I noticed that there's scroll bar to the left of the 29.97 that is almost invisible. Check it. But this is no relief since I can't import anyway...
I'll keep looking and if I get a solution I'll post it.
    Cheers!
    Arno

  • AE CC 2014 TIF image sequence import issue

    Hi all,
I'm trying to import a TIF sequence into AE CC 2014. I click on the first .tif in the sequence, tick "image sequence" in the import dialog and then click OK. It only brings in the first image.
I tried renaming the files to remove any underscores/characters that may be illegal. Now I get this error:
    39 :: 44
After Effects error: Can't import as a sequence. Found no matches for the selected file name. (39 :: 44)
The file names are all identical (apart from the unique sequence number obviously). I've never had any problems with this before. Has anyone else experienced this?

    What are the file names?

  • After Effects is cropping photo sequences imported as footage and brought into ACR

When I bring in a photo sequence into After Effects using File>Import>File and import the photos as footage the photos come into ACR as 16:9 instead of 3:2 (how they were shot.)
For instance, all of the photos in my sequence are 5760x3840. When i bring them all into photoshop they maintain that size, but for some reason when I import them as footage in AE, when the ACR dialog box comes up, the photos are now cropped to 5760x3240. Why is this happening?

Presumably it tries to be all too helpful and overlays the last used comp aspect ratio for preview. In turn this means you would have to create a 3:2 comp, so it becomes the last active setting. No idea, realy. I barely use ACR in Photoshop, much less in AE, since I only need it when I get baby or wedding photos from friends every now and then and otherwise we don't work with RAW/ DNG sequences...

  • Image Sequence Import

I am trying to open an image sequence with Quicktime Pro. I can open a sequence of 20,000 images, but I can't open a sequence that is 52,000 images. When I try to do this Quicktime just hangs and stops responding OR it opens as a player window with nothing in it.
Is there a limit to the number of images Quicktime can open as a sequence?
(the image sequence I am opening is a series of psd files rendered from an animation application).

This "limit" question came up once before and I think there is one but don't know the number.
Break up your sequence by moving some (one third) to other folders and join the 3 files into one by copy/paste.

  • Aftereffects, Photoshop or other grafic Sequence imports?

    Hey People,
Two questions to people really using FCPX.
I am still doubting to buy FCPX because of this. I need to buy the full set of Adobe Production Suite anyway for Photoshop, Illustrator and Aftereffects. Yes, I will have the by then almost free Premiere Pro too. That will work great with Afteraffects and footage I import from my 3d programs. But I am worried that my Macs will find it harder to work for APP than for FCP, performancewise. So I was concidering to use FCPX for editing my AVCHD/XDCAM footage instead of Premiere and then use Afteraffects and Photoshop with that.
    1) But is it possible to import imagesequences (w Alpha), or Photoshop layers? If no: Is it possible to import movie files with alpha? If you're anwser is NO than I have no choice and go to Premier.
    2) Is there anyone who tested AVCHD or XDCAM footage on a Mac Pro and Mac Book in both Premiere Pro and FCPX. Is there any difference in performance?

You can import  QT movies with alpha channel in FCPX.
I did that just now, it works in real time ...
If you want image sequenses , you can import them in Motion 5 and compressor and then export them for FCPX.
I tried the same footage from my Sony dslr (avchd) on both Premiere 5.5 and FCPX , no difference.

  • Legacy sequence importing - running out of regions error

So it finally happened. I want to access several sequence files from older versions of Logic. Currently I'm most interested in opening some 6.3 platinum versions.
I am running the latest greatest Logic 8 on an intel desktop...which obviously is useless for this portion of my exercise. I do have version 7 on a laptop, and version 6.3.1 on an old OS9 machine.
Attempting to open with V7 prompts me with a "running out of regions" error message, then crashes the app when I select "cancel".
Attempting with V6 yields a similar prompt "Running out of sequences" message. When I "cancel" I get another prompt "IsUnsorted: Track== NULL!" with "Bad" as my option, which then throws it into an endless loop, cycling the 2 statements.
Anyone have any mojo for me? Is it some kind of plugin issue, or audio card, or moon cycle?
This issue has really hit home the fact that we are creating an entire generation of music that will not be able to be accessed in element form. It also really points out just how **** old I am...sigh
Thanks in advance for any and all info.

  • Media Encoder CC won't import a JPEG sequence to the queue

I am running Media Encoder CC 7.2.2.29 (64-bit) on OSX 10.9.4.
I have a JPEG sequence GoPro timelapse image sequence that I want to encode into a video clip. All files have a .jpg extension. They are 4000x3000 and have an RGB color space. The Color profile is SRGB IEC61966-21. All images are 3.9MB.
According to the ME help I should do the following.
To add an image sequence, choose File > Add Source. In the Open dialog box, choose the first file of the image sequence. Enable the  Sequence Import checkbox for your file type, and then click the Open button.
I follow the instructions and select the first image in the sequence. The "JPEG File Sequence" checkbox is active and I check it and click the Open button. The dialog disappears and nothing happens. There are no warnings.
How does one get JPEG sequences to import to the queue?
    Please advise.
    -Travis

Yes, import into premiere work fine. The nice part about using AME directly is you don't have to have to create a project or use an old one every time you want to crunch a timelapse. Also, AME has this nice feature where it will autoname the output file IMG[FirstStill]-[LastStill] (ie IMG[GP001234-GP001297]). This was helpful because GoPros change the first number in the sequence every time you stop and start time lapse.

  • How to deal with file sequences in importer plugin

I checked the sdk example which deals with file import. What would be the difference if I would want to create an importer for a file sequence? Let's say I have a sequence of file0001.img, file0002.img,...,file1000.img. If I enable the image sequence import in media browser I should be able to import this 1000 files as one clip. However I don't see how PP will tell me that this is not just one image. It gave me the first filename and told me to open it, and as my code is not finished yet I could not go any further. What should I expect?
    Thanks,
    ajaj

you could try using a Java Mapping to change the encoding manually. For that, set the encoding of the OutputFormat of the XML you'll serialize. Try the following code piece for the mapping (inside a try/catch declaration):
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder documentBuilder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document input = documentBuilder.parse(in);
    OutputFormat format = new OutputFormat(XML, "ISO-8859-1", false);
    XMLSerializer serializer = new XMLSerializer(out, format);
