Sequencing question: app requires IE settings change before first launch

hi.
I need to sequence an app that will open in IE.
I did a quick try, got some errors... Found later that it requires IE not above 9. I had 11.
Sure I will try it again with right browser version and if necessary few tries. So in case of problem I can ask providing the errors
But as preliminary question I want to ask an advice for the sequencing in the next installation scenario:
1. Run msi (55MB package, so it is not just a shortcut)
2. Before first launch, installation instruction requires to open IE and set "use username and password" for Internet and Intranet zones to YES.
The question is would IE settings be captured during the installation and monitoring process if I will do it as required.
Or it worth to set IE before starting sequencer, or I can set a registry for IE after editing Appv package after saving.
Also, domain GPO can be used probably. But I know that I need to enter the app during monitoring.
What will be appropriate to try?

I suggest that when you re-sequence you have the correct version of IE on your sequencing VM. Also, ensure IE has been launched before attempting to sequence to ensure any first run user settings are not going to be captured in your virtual package.

Rendering: Settings Changed

I don't remember ever seeing this message before, but since I've upgrade to LR 1.4.1 I keep seeing the message "Rendering: Settings Changed" the first time I view an image in "Fit". Also when I zoom to 1:1, I get the message "Rendering: Higher Quality", which I also don't recall seeing before. I've tried rerendering previews both standard size and 1:1, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Does anyone know what these message mean, and I why I am getting them now? It definitely slows down my rating workflow.
It also seems curious that after I did Discard 1:1 Previews (it claimed it was discarding several hundred of them), when I did Render 1:1 Previews: it claimed to only need to create 30 of them. Shouldn't it need to render all the previews that is discarded?

It will only render previews for the photos that you have selected.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select "done", in the upper right corner
sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the security questions.
At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...

2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)

3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

Sequence settings changed and digital cinema freezes. what now?

hello there.
i'm a new fcp user and i could really use some help on some issues that came up while working on a film project.
the material was captured with the camera function of a digital still camera, which resulted in rushes of .avi format, 30 fps, 640X480 frame size.
we then converted these into .mov clips using quicktime and compressor so that we can work without the need to render. we encoded them using the Apple ProRes 422 codec.
i opened a NTSC project to work on this and have created a sequence preset having exactly the same settings as my clips (Apple ProRes 422, 30 fps, etc).
i'm cutting the whole project on a macbook pro (see details below) running fcp 6.0.3 and i'm using a second monitor toggling between browser and digital cinema desktop preview.
everything was working fine till yesterday, when suddently some sequences needed rendering (while they were working fine till then) and dcdp freezed (that is i get the first frame and i can hear the sound when i playback a clip or a sequence and then i get the current frame when i stop it).
i've checked the sequence settings and i've found out that all of my sequences are now pal, 720X576, 25 fps. that's the first part of the problem. i tried changing the sequence settings, but of course i cannot change the frame rate; i've tried creating a new sequence with the correct settings and then copy&paste the clips from the prev sequence but then video and audio go out of synch by 2 frames. how did my settings changed all of a sudden? is there a way to keep my edited sequences without the need to manually re-cut the whole thing?
as far as the second part of the problem is concerned (the dcdp not working anymore), i've tried changing my settings (going from full screen to raw, trying single frame against all frames, etc) but still it doesn't work. the rest of the settings are ok (eg. i've found in the forum that the checkbox about playback mirrored on the desktop should be ticked and it was already).
this computer is never conected to the internet and it has never been manually updated (so there is not a way that an OS update is not working well with fcp).
any ideas?

I've experienced the exact same problems you are having and it's driving me nuts.
It's not like my system has changed. I bought the Mac Pro and Final Cut Studio together and all was well when I first installed it. That initial project was an HDV project and DCDP worked great.
Since then I'm working mostly on SD PAL projects and when I go to preview it on the desktop it does the first frame freeze when you hit play and parks on the current frame when you hit stop.
I can resize the main edit window to full size and the sequence plays back fine but when I go to DCDP it just won't play at all. It feels like a bug but this is the first time I have found someone else with the same problem. By the way, I'm only using one monitor so the mirror desktop thing made no difference.
I know the DCDP isn't great quality but it's fine for getting a general overview and I sure do miss it.

Validating changes before saving

Hi all
Sorry if this sounds like a novice question but I am still learning.
Just wondering if their is a way to validate data in the form before committing; this is in order to display certain checks and present the result via a message display on the form.
Currently, I have to make the change and then commit the changes before the form will validate and the message is displayed.

There is a few things i'm validating e.g. one lov
with 2 choices; if one choice is picked then another
field in that block is checked for a correct format,
pick the other choice and the first check is
cancelled and another field again is checked for a
certain length value etc.It seems as if you want to do some validations as soon as some value is selected by LOV for an Item.
If this is the case you can use WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger for that Item and then set and validate your requirements depending upon the value selected from LOV.

First of all, uninstall it with the uninstaller.
Then:
Install the ENGLISH version.
Change the language in the CC app to Korean.
Install the Korean version. (DON't uninstall the English version)
Change back the langauge in the CC app to English.
When your OS is running in English, InDesign will run in English with Korean functionality added, if your OS is running in Korean it will take the Korean User Interface, so let your OS run in English.
Every installer language will add needed plugins for the work with that language. E.g. If I install Hebrew, I get RTL functionality in German version, only if I would change the OS language it would change the language of InDesign, InDesign takes always as UI language the language of the OS if available, if not (in your case you have uninstalled English before), it takes any version which is available in the order of languages specified in the OS.
If you need to run your program in a different language than the OS but you have installed it in the language of the OS it becomes more difficult. You would have to use some system tools which are able to force a program to open with a different language. Most of those tools are freeware.

"Rendering: settings changed" after saving changes from Bridge

I have LR 2.6 on my Mac. I import RAW images through LR, let LR build 1:1 previews. Once the import has finished & previews are built, LR moves from image to image fine. I then do my basic edits, deletions, and do a batch renumber.
Next I go to Bridge to make my adjustments in the RAW window without opening the files. I go back to LR, save the changes, allowing the Bridge changes to overwrite the LR development import presets in the xmp files.
It usually takes LR a while to save all the changes, but eventually it does it. However, here is my issue. No matter how much time I give LR to render new previews, I don't think it does, at least not until I go to Library mode double click an image to view larger (to fit the window). When I go from image to image, it takes a few seconds while displaying the message "Rendering: settings changed..." Now, this is not necessarily right after I save the changes, but it still happens weeks later- whenever I go to view those images. Does LR not automatically re-render the previews after development changes have been made and saved to LR?
And if not, how would I force LR to do it for that catalog, or for all my images?

What you may need is more RAM. Or do you have other applications working in the background 13 seconds to build a preview!!!!! Using a old Macbook with 1.2 GB RAM an it does it faster than that!LR doesn't require a lot of power from a machine...it does need as much RAM as you can stick in a machine and the fastest disks you can use...but if it is taking 13 seconds to build a single preview then it isn't really worth using IMO
Why not make all you RAW adjustments in Lightroom Develop module. The raw processing engine is the same as ACR and you can choose "auto save changes to xmp" in the preferences.
Ah, bingo. That works, abet slowly (see above). Okay, I will just have to remember to manually do that once I save changes to LR from xmp data. I guess I thought LR would be smart enugh to do that itself, but I guess not. And again, I find it faster to go back & forths, even with an extra step.
LR can be set to automatically write any changes to xmp, it doesn't have to be done manually (set this in preferences) you just have the choice. It won't read changes made in other applications automatically as this would be a very bad idea..it would after all over write the LR database. So if you do want to over write the LR database you must activly choose to do so.
