Serial Attached SCSI support?

Greetings all,
I was lurking on the Hitachi website and saw that they now have a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) hard drive out. 15,000 RPM, 147 GB, and what looks like a normal SATA plug-in. Anybody heard whether this drive would function with my Firmtek Seritek 1V4 SATA controller? The need for speed bites once again! Thanks for the info in advance.

K9A2 booting from SAS (Serial Attached Scsi)

I have been looking all over the place and cannot find any references to booting off the SAS-able Promise controller.
Have anyone tried this or know if it is possible to boot off a SAS-drive?

I have been looking at cables and the one you linked to makes the most sense. I just don't get why there are two SATA-plugs at the end? Obviously one end should have the plug that matches the drive + some power connection to the drive (could be either sata or 4 plug AMP). The other end should be a straight single SATA. The link you posted has two SATA plugs at the other end AND a 4-plug AMP for power??? Is the power doubled up with both SATA- and AMP-connectors?

Anything that gives graphs for seek times and different chunk sizes for transfer rates should do. In reality I'd be happy with manual timings of internal copy and external copy (read and write to RAID) compared between the single drive you have and the full RAID 1. If you have the OS loaded on the RAID you might time the boot time as well.
As I said you have given me enough information already so just fiddle with the benchmark if you really enjoy it.

i have created one application in vb.net using LabVIEW Dlls in which i am performing Serial I/O operation
now when i install that application on other PC LabView Dll Does not Respond
now how can i add serial i/o support or how can i install serial i/o support indepandently with my Application ?????

Attach a supported WD drive

I get the message "Attach a supported WD drive" for both the WD Drive Utilities and WD Security apps. Also, the WD Smartware app does not list the WD drive. All apps have been updated to the latest version.
I do see the drive and am able to write to it via Windows (7) File Explorer.
WD drive is connected via USB 3
The WD drive is a 1TB My Passport Ultra - P/N WDBZP0010BRD-05
S/N [Deleted]

Hamlet, I was having the same issue. I work on a Mac, though. I uninstalled the the WD Drive Utilities, WD Security and WD Smartware. Unfortunately, it took me forever -- well, an hour or so -- to reinstall Smartware because WD's website makes it do difficult to find anything. If anyone reading this thread has a similar issue and is looking for a link for the latest Smartware, here's the link for Windows, and here's the one for Mac. After all that, I still can't figure out how to attach a drive to WD Security or the WD Drive Utility. This link provides directions for Windows but not for Mac. I am now giving up.

My iPhone 5s will not power on and I need my serial number for support.

I am attempting to get help through Apple Support- Chat, but I need my serial number. It is not showing up in iTunes under the device preferences. Any other ways to retrieve the serial number through iCloud?
If anyone has any idea of what is going on with my phone, I would love some assistance. I live 45 minutes from the nearest Apple Store. Here's the situation:
About 2 weeks ago, my phone started shutting itself off and restarting randomly.
About a week and a half ago, I would randomly get a blue screen and then the phone would restart multiple times.
About a week ago I turned off Touch ID in an effort to resolve the issue, after reading some fixes from this community. That seemed to help. I do have the animation turned off, so I had read that there may be an issue between the Touch ID and animation reduction. If that had not helped, I was going to turn the animation back on.
Last night my phone seemed fine. I did hear it restart in the middle of the night once, but this morning it will not power on at all.
I tried connecting it to my computer through iTunes, but iTunes does not see it and I cannot access the device information from it.
My phone is less than a month old, and for the first two weeks it worked great. I am taking it into the AT&T Store today where it was purchased, but I don't really have high hopes for a resolution.
Any help is much appreciated!

Email attachment file support - TIF etc

Is anyone aware of any new applications for TIF (tagged image file format) support for email attachments? I frequently receive them but the iPhone was unable to render them prior to 2.0. As of the 2.0 update, I can open one I received today, but it displays only the first page inline. Trying to forward the email with the attachment is ineffective and the iPhone renders the attachments useless.
Anyone with any knowledge on this matter, or if you've heard of any rumors, please respond. I'd think this is a business critical issue for Apple to address - in fact, if there is no viable support for this format, I'm going to have to dump the iPhone. Ouch!

I am having the same issue - however, I am not sure it is strictly a 2.0 problem.
I am having the issue using Safari to open any attachment that is a .tif file - and it only renders the first page...
After browsing other posts on this problem - some have mentioned that Safari doesn't support .tif files that have more than one page -
So my question is were you able to open multi-page documents in Safari before?

Upgrade to OS 10.5 + DLT SCSI Support?

I'm wondering - if I upgrade to OS 10.5 will my SCSI card (ATTO) and DLT tape drive DLT80) still work?

I have not tried that combination but you may want to drop a note to ATTO to see what they support. Regardless of the answer clone your boot drive before any updates so you can restore it if needed (or stick another drive/boot partition in.)
One last thing, I tend to stay conservative on these things,if I have a machine that is working well I usually will not update it unless there is a real pressing reason and unless there is a good reason for you to want to update to Leopard on a production machine, you may want to think about it a bit (or just get another Leopard boot disc in there.)

Apple apparently doesn't do email support. You could try sending an email to Apple corporate and see if it kicks up any dust. Otherwise, see if you can contact the place you purchased the software.

I got this solved it was that on client side i needed mail.jar and activation.jar.
This was a tricky one but got help from jakarta newsgroups. Thanks a million guys.

CF9 Upgrade Serial won't accept CF7 Serial - Adobe WORST support ever

After over 5 hours of being passed on from one division to another at Adobe phone support, I am amazed at the lack of understanding most of the techs on the phone have had and the inability of a single one of them to get me the support person who can solve this...
We have CF9 Server running in trial mode. We have purchased the CF9 Upgrade. We had CF7 for years. When we take the two serials (new CF9 and old CF7) and try to apply them in the CF Admin, we get:
"This combination of license keys does not constitute a valid upgrade."
One of the many techs I have spoken with in the past 5 hours said it was because our CF7 serial was an older one... he didn't know who to contact though and passed me onto someone else who knew even less.
Note, when I asked who I can contact to put a complaint in, I was told there is no electronic way to put a complaint in... only via regular letter. Wow.... guess they really don't want to hear from anyone that unhappy with their services? Isn't the idea of Acrobat PDF to go paperless?!?
Is there no one at Adobe who can solve this most basic issue?!?!?!

Took over 7 hours on the phone today but after being passed back and forth beetween 10 to 12 (lost count near the end...) adobe tech support people, I finally was given a different number to call for Tier 2 tech support. Instead of the usual 40 minute plus hold time, I got someone on the phone right away and he stuck with it for 30 minutes till it was solved. He was much more technically proficient and was able to think through the issue instead of using canned scripts.
For reference, even though the message was about the license keys not being valid for upgrade, the actual issue was a file permission issue on the license.properties file. I was logged in as an account that is part of the administrators group and it was the same account I did the original installation with, but had to modify the permissions on that one file to give the user account direct permissions. The error message was just misleading...
So to adjust, level 1 support at Adobe is definitely worst I have ever encountered. Tier 2 support actually did a great job.

Add attachment in Support Message using BAPI_NOTIFICATION_CREATE

Hi Experts,
I am creating a data migration program for support desk message in our Solutions Manager 7.0. I was able to create the basic message but I am having problem adding the attachment.
I already searched the forum and google but can't find any post that will help. There is also no documentation and SAP note for this.
May I know if you have used BAPI_NOTIFICATION_CREATE already with attachment? Any info will be appreciated.

We have an old support desk which is not SAP, it is Java based. We want to migrate the existing data to SAP Solutions Manager. The problem is I am having hard time uploading the attachment using the BAPI.

Not natively - the built-in ATA bus is a Parallel ATA (PATA) one, specifically an Ultra ATA/66 bus.
However, you can add a PCI card that will provide a SATA bus, allowing the use of SATA drives.

Lombard + OS X = SCSI supported?

Does anybody know, whether the Lombard (M5343) supports external SCSI devices with OS X 10.2.8? Is it possible to boot OS X from any SCSI device (e.g. harddrive and/or DVD)?
I never asked this before and found nothing on the Apple support site. Currently running "jaguar" (10.2.8) and don't see SCSI from system profiler (of course, no device connected).

Generally devices like SCSI HDs, Zip drives, CD-RWs, and scanners will work, but I do not know the success rate of booting to the HD or burner with built-in SCSI. You might want to head over to the Power Mac Discussions where SCSI is an on-going topic involving mostly SCSI PCI cards but they may also be helpful with the older/slower SCSI. I realize the only way to boot the Lombard from another volume is via a SCSI device or possibly a media bay HD, but my advice would be to avoid SCSI if possible. Use FireWire and USB 2.0 PC cards if possible for read/write requirements
