Serial # Issue

OK, my copy of CS4 did come from eBay, but it seems to be legit. I am running Vista Home Premium with plenty of RAM and HD space.
When I install Photoshop, either from the DVD or download, and enter my serial # it gives me the green check mark and brings me to the registration screen. I fill it out, and it then brings me into PS.
Now, when I close PS and restart, it again asks for a serial #. I enter the same number again and I get a red "X" and have to use a 30 day trial option.
What is going on? Anyone ever have this problem?

Yes. By ALL MEANS      blame for me too many activations, error's in installation on the all different possible processor architecture configurations make installing any kind of software tricky. I unloaded, ran a cleanup utility and reinstalled so many times, that I am plumb sick of you people. No,. it will not activate over the internet, and because you know have no tech support personnel because you decided to screw a whole town of employees out of a job, and left thousands of kids with ACE certificates and no jobs to pay for those student loans, your tech department that was remaining walked out.
  Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled too many times, so it has to be done over the phone, Friday I was on hold from the minute they opened until 1 pm, when I had to leave to go to the Dr. I had opened flash and activated it with assistance from one of your no wage employees, but he did not do it right, bit surprise there right?
  So know I have to activate every program in the master collection. No one will call me back, you ever heard of Caterpillar Corp. Link Belt, Terex Cranes, Grove Cranes, JWG Granes, Guifree Bros. Cranes? As of 3 pm Friday, when I returned from the doctor, the license to right the firmware for the anti two block safety device, was changed from Adobe to Corel. I made one simple phone call and lost over 80 software engineers their jobs in Redding Ca.
  If Adobe will not answer the phone, will not call a person back, then I will jerk my permission for the copyrighted software that belongs to me. When customer complain big damned deal, but just wait until they have the four largest machinery manufacturers in the world screaming down their back. There is nothing adobe can ever do to get that back either. NOTHING
  So they are I a period of transition bit deal, what they mean is they are giving our jobs to people who cannot speak American English, and yes, there is one hell of a big difference, I am going to get a tape recorder and put on it, WHAT, and I'M SORRY I CANNOT UNDERSTAND YOU, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.  ALL I do when I hear from you people is get mad. Since July 6th of this year, you have been screwing me around, I have spent hours on the phone, hours.
  I was desperately trying to avoid a deadline, well it didn't work, and now I am a week behind, and it has only cost me over $4000 so far, because of that problem. I have a brand new box of web premium, that I guess I am going to have to sue Adobe to get my money back, it does not work on a 64 bitx86 platform, and yes I did turn all the **** off. There are now so many different motherboard configurations and processor architecture designs, that Adobe and Microsoft both agree that there is a big problem, but neither of you will do anything about it. I want you to go the NM Attorney general's web page, and click on the consumer protection law, and also read the statute on the Lemon Laws, I could screw you people around big time, it could cost you over a million dollars In fines alone. I would urge the judge to impose that level of sanction.
  And don't write to me if you do not have something intelligent to say, I am not a stupid soccer mom.

    I tried to install Creative Cloud (photoshop) on a second computer (iMac), but Photoshop was asking for a serial.
    The photoshop (trial) is now suspended on this computer and I can't work with it anymore.
    I searched the support forum for a solution, but nothing found:
    - i tried different language install
    - i tried the CS6 cleaner and installed again

    Not sure if you already solved it but I noticed you ordered the English version -with that version the Adobe Application Manager language preference have to be set to English(International). That might be the cause. We have this support doc about the issue.

  • Photoshop CS4 Extended serial issue

    hi their
    i am a computer techie trying to help out a customer who has adobe PS  Extended CS4
    i installed the program on a sony vaio VGN-FW25G with no issue(it accepted the serial during install)
    now when i start the program, it comes up with a software setup window where i can get a trial or enter the key
    when i enter the key i comes up as invaild or a red X i have run the clean up script but with no luck
    i try on another machine & it all goes through fine(i deactivated the key before i uninstalled it off the other unit)
    i have done servral restores but still does the same thing
    what would cause this issue?

  • Licensing/Download/Serial Issues??

    Anyone else purchase CS5.5 recently to get the free upgrade to CS6 and run into a bunch of issues?  Nothing showing up in the licensing site (which is now down for "scheduled" maintenance), no order number, online chat support stating that it's a 72-hour wait to get your downloads/serial numbers, 2-hour hold for licensing support line....
    And of course the weekend is upon us so I'll likely have to wait until next week to (hopefully) access the software I purchased.  Kind of ridiculous.  Buy an online product somewhere else and you get access as soon as you make the payment.  Spend $2000 on Adobe products and get the runaround about what's going on with the order, why the delay, shoddy support/web services, etc.
    Ugh.  Am I the only one?  Has annyone else made a purchase in the last couple of days without a hitch?

  • Aperture serial # issue after upgrade to Lion.

    Unbelievably angry with apple.  Upgraded to Lion, have my Aperture 3 serial number but not my Aperture 2 number, no path to find the aperture 2 number.  This link - selfsolve.apple.com/EXPERT/GetProductList.do  is broken. Given that this is legally purchased software and I need to work now, my frustration level is very high.  Reconsidering photoshop.

    Yep, should have been clear with the questions. First question - why didn't the software keys transfer on the Lion upgrade?  Seems pretty simple, and must have been many others with the same issue.   Second question - how do you find a serial number for a software purchase from years ago - the software was purchased as a hard copy (all the way back to v1) at an apple store or resller, not online - so there is no record of it online, and I have long since disposed of the receipt.  Third question - is the only way to contact apple via phone?  Every online method I have used to try to solve this issue has led to a dead end.  I've been an apple user since the 2E, and it just seems more, not less difficult to solve issues now.

    Hi, I have installed adobe creative suite 5.5 design premium in my computer. But recently, my hard disk damaged and I switch to new computer. However, when I reinstall the adobe, the serial Number doesn't work anymore. Can anyone suggest how to activate the software as my old hard disk cannot use anymore.

  • CS4 Serial # issue - Losing patience with support

    Long story but I'll try to be as succinct as possible. I have the full version of CS3 that my company purchased for me in 2007. I upgraded to CS4 this year (purchased and downloaded online) because I am using Vista 64-bit. When installing, it would not accept my CS3 serial # for the "previous version install". I had to spend an hour on the phone with tech support to get a challenge code, etc. Eventually the install was complete with the workaround process.
    However, I do hardware and software reviews for a popular website part-time so I upgrade hardware often which means I also re-install Windows & my apps often. On my next install, I had to call tech support and do the whole process over again (one of my case #'s was 180687538). This solution works but for most I suppose but due to my frequent changes, I don't have the time or patience to spend an hour on the phone with Adobe support every time I want to re-install. There has to be a better way.
    I chatted online with support last night and after an hour + of scripted and repetitious responses from the technician, I was informed that the issue stems from the CS3 being a volume license and I should contact the volume license support. I called them today and I was summarily told they could not help me and transferred me to the regular (for lack of a better term) support line for which I spent an hour on hold waiting for a rep and I finally had to hang up. I don't have that kind of time to waste, especially at work.
    Please offer me a solution to this problem. I do not wish to waste any more time on the phone or chatting with reps who can only pick out keywords and read from a script. If the volume license was an issue with the upgrade, why wasn’t I informed when I called support with the original problem? I would have “returned” the purchase at that time. I don't feel like I am asking for much here, I just want to be able to uninstall and re-install as needed without jumping through hoops.

    My first response to OP is that anyone wishing to have a stable version of Photoshop would be to make as few changes to computer as possible.  I still think that is true, or at least, it's a personal rule for me.
    But on the other hand, Installation, Activation, Reactivation and Registration sure could use a lot of improvement.  As far as for tech support, it's going downhill at a fast pace.  Being switched from one tech, to another, to another simply because they don't know how to help.  And the accents always make the whole thing that much more enjoyable.

    Just updated to 10.4.6 on the Xserver we use as our webserver here at my school and suddenly the UNLIMITED Client serial number that my school district has is prompting this message: Invalid Serial Number: duplicate serial number.
    Um, no kidding it's a duplicated. Unfortunately, now Server Admin is not allowing me to make any changes to the server set up... Except for the UNLIMITED Client serial number.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I experienced this exact problem. My Xserve typically runs for months at a time between restarts. I installed the 10.4.6 update over this past weekend and received the "Invalid Serial Number" message from the Admin Tools. I spent this evening again looking for information in the support pages with no solution.
    Just for the heck of it, I decided to quit all my running applications and restart the Xserve. Problem solved. All Admin tools work again.

  • Serial # issues in Upgrading from CS to CS4

    Was wondering if you need your existing serial number in order to upgrade from CS to CS4? If so, where do you find it?
    As I recall, when looking into an upgrade it says they give you a new one. But I thought you needed the old one in order to be eligible for the upgrade.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    But yes.. you need you previous serial number when upgrading. Generally it's located on the DVD/CD case.

  • Logic Pro Serial Issues

    Recently purchased a new macbook pro. Transferred files over using migration asssistant. Now when i start up logic pro. It asks me for the "original serial number" the one i put in is not working. How do I fix this??

    Check that you entered the number correctly, e.g. a zero and an Oh are different. Also make sure you enter the right serial number for this product, not an old one. And a last one, if everything else doesn't solve it: you might want to "google" you serial number, if it was stolen, Apple probably blocked it.

  • New Computer Serial Issues

    I purchased 2 new computers, the old computers had there hard drives wiped clean and then sold. Now with photoshop elements installed on my new computers it will not work on 1, it says I have it installed on too many computers? How is this possible? Also it gives 6 machines that it was installed on? We only had 2 computers and still only have 2 computers? I no longer have these computers to go through deactivating them, however the hard drives were wiped clean before they were sold.

  • Cannot register PS - says serial is invalid!

    I purchased Creative Suite CS4 some time ago. Never registered the components. I started registering all my adobe programs, and PS serial won't take on adobe.com . Says it's invalid. I've "registered" the product through the program itself ... not sure what this accomplished, I received no email, and I do not see the product showing up on my adobe.com account as something I registered. I have read other threads explaining how Adobe support no longer supports serial issues when calling, or when someone has had an opportunity to talk to support where they help troubleshoot, they are always of no help.
    I presently have the program installed, and it functions, I simply want to register it.

    Operating System: Mac OS 10.9.2

    Perhaps because the serial is for the entire suite, not just Photoshop, so technically it isn't a PS serial. The one s/n should install all components. Your product is registered as "Creative Suite".
    Check with Customer Support (not Technical Support) for assistance.

  • IWork 2005 Serial Number problems on MacPro ...

    I installed my registered copy of Keynote and Pages [iWork 05] on a new MacPro. After the initial serial number request each application runs. However subsequent access to either application requires repetitive serial number association. I can't run the applications unless I reinsert the serial number each time they are launched.
    I removed all files that were associated with the iLife 06 trial that comes pre-bundled on the MacPro. I can't seem to figure out what's causing this. Anyone have a clue?

    I solved the problem. First, I was in fact logged in as admin.
    I spent most of yesterday and today migrating over to a new MacPro. The last step was Final Cut Studio. Everything seemed to be stable. The only glitch was this iWork serial issue.
    An hour ago I started to work on an audio segment in preparation for distribution on the web. I launched one of my main signal processing plugins, and guess what? Same problem. It would not maintain my registration.
    I deleted all preference files for iWork and the Plugin - and ... I repaired permissions . This solved the problem.
    It didn't dawn on me to do this, although I guess it should have. I was too caught up in the excitement of getting the new system configured, up, and running.
