Can anybody tell me about serial master data migration... is it possible to do using LSMW... if anybody do the same please provide the list of important fields needs to give as input..

Serial Master Record

Guys need a little help.
While posting GR, in my scenario, user enter an unique serial number against all the line item of the corresponding PO (line items are copied into GR screen).
On posting Good Receipt, the serial number should get saved in some serial master record table (that's what my functional spec tells me).
I just want to know what is the Table for Serial Master Record.Does it mean that I have to create a Z table instead.

Hi,
There is no straight table linking your serial number and the MSEG table.
But the serial number will be having a equipment master, This will be available in EQUI table as OBJNR. Pass this OBJNR in SER03 and get serial number.

How to populate Value of Vendor Field in Serial Master data

Hi,
In Serial Number ,there is field named "Vendor". We want to populate this field with vendor number from PO at the time Goods receipt of Serial Number.
Can you pl. tell me what configuaration needs to be done to populate this with vendor number from PO at GR? I am not able to populate this .

I dont think this can be achieved through configuration. You could try to use the available user exits ( IQSM0005 Customer exit in update and IQSM0007 Customer exit for goods movements) to update the vendor number in the equipment master.

Logic pro 8 won´t accept my serial after migration to macintel

I bought and installed the update from logic 7 to 8. No problems. But after migration to a mac pro logic asks me for my serial and won´t accept it.
What can i do - i have proof that i bought the program but can´t use it...someone said its because of the missing xs key - but i thought you don´t need that any more for 8? It does not ask for the old XS key (wich i got rid of after i worked with Logic 8)
Any suggestions?

Yes, you need your XS key to install because it qualifies your upgrade version.
Once you've installed, you don't need the dongle to run Logic. This is quite clear in the install docs.

Material Master Migration: SAP Standard Programm RMDATIND has no MLAST fiel

Hi all,
I am migrating Material Master.
Material Ledger is active and I have to fill the field MLAST (Price determination) with '2' (instead of default '3') in order to migrate materials with VPRSV (Price control) 'V' (instead of 'S').
MLAST is from table MBEW, but it is not in RMDATIND, or it has onother name there or it has to be enhanced in the RMDATIN. I have no idea...

Problem serial master edition cs6

Hi,
i tried to install creative master suite cs6 but i have a problem with the serial.
I type in my serial number -> serial is ok but i need a verification -> put in my serial number master suite cs5.5 -> can't get to the next step.
In the past i had the same problem. I called the support number, they told me that i have to hold shift + strg and double click the setup window. After that i should call the support. Everything works fine and support person solved the problem.
This time I can't contact the support hotline because there is so number. Even my email at [email protected] came back -> Your message couldn't be delivered to the group because you don't have permissions to send to it.
What can I do? The software is very expensive and support is so bad - can't understand.

Material/Serial Nbr is "Stuck" in a storage location and can not be moved

We have a situation created by my customers which has lead to a situation I have never seen before. A material/serial nbr. that is in our Returns location that can not be transfered, issued, removed, or anything via ANY MIGO movement type combination.
This is what happend:
- Customer return processed. Material ABC, Batch XYZ with Serial Nbr. 123 brought into our "RT" StoreLoc.
- Clerk processed MIGO to do a Stock Transfer of this material to another StoreLoc. (PS). He entered in the material ABC, batch XYZ, and a bad serial number 1233. He used a 453 Movement type.
- After realizing his mistake, he processed MIGO again and processed a GI Xfer posting with a 972 movement type to get rid of the bad material/serial nbr. he had just moved to the PS StoreLoc.
- Then he tried to redo the Stock Transfer using a 453 Movement type for the material ABC, batch XYZ, and the good serial nbr. 123, but, he gets a "Deficit of BA Ret.blocked prev. 1.000 EA " error message.
- At this point, he contacts me to ask what can be done.
No matter what we try to do, we can not access this part/serial nbr. combo to move it or issue it or whatever. It is like a ghost now. You can see the serial number via IQ03, but you can not do anything with this part/serial nbr.
Help! Do I need to write an ABAP to physically delete this material/serial nbr from its batch?

First of all, I would assume you used customized movement type 972 to 'get rid of' your material ID with wrong serial number 1233 at PS storage location. If this is the case, then this posting did not return the stock quantity from PS to your RT storage location and that why when you tried to make another posting (with correct serial number 123), an error message was popped up as you simply do not have available stock. The solution in this case are -
1)   Cancel the posting that you made previously with movement type 972. This cancellation will help return your stock (though with wrong serial number 1233) to PS storage location;
2)   Cancel the posting that you have posted to move your stock back from PS to RT (again with wrong serial number). This steps ensure the stock quantity '1' is available at RT storage location;
3)   Make another stock transfer (with correct movement type 453 and serial number 123) from RT;
4)   Delete the serial master record 1233 so that it can no longer be used.

LSMW datamigration material master with multiple distribution channels

Hi,
We plan on using the LSMW to migrate our customer's material master to a ECC 6.0 system.
Currently we use the BMM00 and BMMH1 structures, but there I can specify only one distribution channel.
Does anyone know how to include multiple distribution channels in LSMW material master migration?

you need an extra record in your source per distibution channel.
Alternative you can create the extra record with a small Abap code in LSMW in section __END_OF_RECORD__
There you habe in standard the code:
transfer_record.
just add after this statement a statement that gets the additional wanted distribution channel into the distribution channel field.
BMM00-VTWEG = 'xx'.

Data migration for historical consumption

Hello,
I would like to get information about data migration for historical consumption.
To make forecast, we have to load historical consumptions for each materrial (data in forcasting view / Consumption vals).
Do you know if this is possible with a batch / direct input or we should develop a programm for that ?

I am certain that I can load historical consumption using IDOC menthod for message MATMAS03
However I have never uploaded historical consumption in an extra step after the material master migration, but I guess this should work as well with this IDOC. Just make sure that you do not overwrite other data in material master.

LSMW Material Master - create several valution types within one Run

Hello @ll,
i created a LSMW for material master migration, and i would like to create up to 4 different accounting views (based on different valuation types) within one LSMW Run.
As there is the Field BWTAR on Structure BMM00, and the accounting fields on Structure BMMH1 i dont know if:
1. this is possible in general with LSMW and
2. if possible where i have to set the "transfer_record" commands...
Does anybody have experience on this?

I never used the standard batch input method, so I cant answer this part. But with IDOC as import method I do this right now and it works without any problem
The transfer record command is set in the section of processing time __END_OF_RECORD__
you can display this section when you are in field mapping and conversion rules. choose from menu Extras > Layout and activate all boxes.

Serial number archive

Hi,
While creating serial number via IQ01, the system throws an error with the message "Equipment xxxx already exists".
The reason for this is that the serial number is already assigned to another material of a plant which is now defunct. We would like to use the same serial number again for a running plant.
I would like to archive these old (and unused) serial numbers. When I tried to do this using SARA with object PM_OBJLIST, I could not provide the serial numbers against which the histories are to be removed.
What is the best way to get rid of the old serial numbers, so that they can be reused?

I identified the technique on my own.
The serial number cannot be archived easily, but can be reused in the following manner.
Step 1: Remove old stocks from existing serial number. Get rid of the stocks via 201 or 551 movement.
Step 2: The system status is now changed to AVLB. Please note that there is no material / sloc assignment now, since there is no stock.
Step 3: Change the serial master in IQ02 using the Edit | Special serial no functions | change material number. Save the serial number.
Step 4: Now assign this serial number to the new material while having a production declaration. The material / plant gets changed and can be seen in IQ03.

Update Last Numerical Serial Number

The last numeric serial number is automatically updated in the serial masters created and as you pointed out it is stored in MASE. This table gets automatically updated when we do a goods movement for a no of quantity and equivalent to the quantity the same no of serail masters are created and the last serial number is updated in each of the serial master, this is how the MASE table is updated. You need to perform a goods movement. Please clarify if i have misunderstood ur requirement?
