Serial No in Crsytal Report

Dear Experts,
I have created one crystal report for delivery document. But my customer wants ITEM SERIAL NO should come next to the Item-code . the Serial No Format is : SerialNo1 , Serial-No 2 ... etc.  In PLD is possible through system variable. But am not able to do in Crystal report. How to solve this issue ? Kindly help me to solve this issue.
Thanks in Advance
Regards
Tomy.

Hi Tomy
Place a text field in your detail section where you want the serial number to be displayed. In this text field type in "SER" then drag the serial no field you have into the text field. Then it will display as "SER1" "SER2" etc......

  • From Crystal report XI R2 files to Crsytal Report 2008  files

    Hi All,
Can I convert  from Crystal report XI R2 files to Crsytal Report 2008  files?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Manjunath N Jogin

    Hi,
Here are a few more facts about up gradation to CR 2008.
    1)     Crystal Reports should be the same version of the Enterprise: for instance if reports are created with CR XI R2, the Enterprise version should be BOE XI R2; CR2008 will not be compatible with BOXI R2 Enterprise.
    2)     More versions of CR can be installed in the same machines; please note that the versions should be installed following the order from the oldest version to the latest one in order to avoid conflicts. For instance, you may install CR X first, then CR XI, then XI R2 and then CR 2008;
    3)     The reports created with CR XI can be opened with CR 2008.
    4)     And the reports created with CR 2008 can be opened with CR XI; however if the reports contain any features which are not available with the previous version, these may not be supported; For instance Flash objects which can be used with CR2008 would not be supported by CR XI R2.
    5)     The report definition defines the version with witch the report is created. The report definition information is available from u2018Reportu2019 menu/u2019Performance Informationu2019.
    Hope this would be helpful.

  • Crsytal Report and Images

I seem to have problem with images and Crystal reports. I am displaying multiple images in a report. I want to display 2 images per page. Now the images could be of multiple sizes and hence I dynamically reduce them to the maximum size available on the page.
When I try and print the images the images if they are bigger than the pages size I have tried to re size them keeping the DPI same so that they appear on the page but by default Crsytal reports converst the images into 96 DPI Images.
I am not sure if it does or is there any setting because of which it does. Since I wan them to retain the DPI I would not want them to change the DPI.
Is anyone aware of how crystal report handles images or any information on the DPI of Images in Crystal reports

    Hi, Ashwin;
Are you seeing this issue at runtime, or is it in the Crystal Reports Designer?
A couple of articles relating to runtime:

  • "lost" my iPad.  Will the GPS still work after battery dies?  Also, how can I get the serial number for police report?

Please help!  I "lost" my iPad at a local store.  The GPS on my phone shows the iPad is still in the store (over 24 hours.)  I've searched every square inch of the store and cannot find it.  I fear it may have been "stashed" by an employee.  The police need a serial number for a report.  How do I get that?  Will I still be able to locate it via GPS after the battery dies?

Did you register it with Apple? If not, you would have had to write it down. Once the device goes out of wifi or if the thief turns wifi off...its gone. All they have to do is restore it as new, you wont be able to detect it again. Sounds bleak I know but its hard to get it back once its gone...no matter what Apple says.
I really hope it turns up...I hate thiefs. Best of luck.

  • Vs2005 crsytal reports 10 not working propery in 2003 virtual server

I have a production application using asp.net version 2 and crystal reports 10. The system worked fine for a long time until they changed over from a sever running windows 2003 to a virtual windows server 2003 runing on a different machine. nothing has been changed other than the system now runs on a virtual server. My proble is that the crystal report viewer is now postioned about halway from its border ( vertically and it seems to render other buttons ( ie not crsytal reports controls but asp.net standard controls) in operable. It would appear as if the postback has not worked properly for some of the asp.net comtrol buttons.
This has worked fine for one year until they put the whole system on a virtual server.  ANy help would be appreciated

Using a utility such as [Fiddler|http://www.fiddlertool.com/fiddler/] or [Charles|http://www.charlesproxy.com/] may help you in determining what is happening. [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx] may also help, but I'd go for Fiddler or Charles first.

How to print serially with group above.Avoid rownum and use summary column at detail block and set following property.
    Summary function :count
    summary column : ename
reset at : <group name>Your serial problem solved.

But the serial number which is used for this material movement is not appearing in any of the standard report - COOIS-Component/Documented Goods Movement or in MB51 or any other else.
Please guide how to insert the serial number field in all the material movement standard report.

  • Add serial number in the report file name when using batch process model

I would like to append a string containing the current UUT serial number to the base name of the report file. For example, uut_report.html becomes uut_report[SN000001].html. This setting is not available if I use NI BatchModel.seq as my process model.
    Thanks!

  • APEX Report - how can i create column with serial numbers in a report

    Need help
I have created a report with displaying no of rows resticted to 43, every time i genarate this report i would like to add serial numbers from 6 to 48
apear in additional column. How can i do this?

This is not really an APEX question, and would have been better posted on the {forum:id=75} forum.
Note also that the best way to get fast, effective answer to questions is to provide sufficient information for people to fully understand them:
    http://tkyte.blogspot.com/2005/06/how-to-ask-questions.html
You should also ensure that your forum profile is updated with a better handle than "user8308442".
Getting back to the question, one way to do this is using the analytic function ROW_NUMBER():
    with t as (
-- Test data. Replace with actual query. ---------------------------------------
      select
                dbms_random.string('a', 10) query_data
      from
                dual
      connect
                by rownum <= 43)
    select
5 + row_number() over (order by query_data) sn -- use required ordering here
            , t.query_data
    from
              t
    order by
              sn

  • How to add Serial Number to the report name?

    HI,
I'd like to add the option of including the SN to the report name.  A good option will be to automatically set the default base name to the SN.
I'm open to suggestions. Either a simple solution where I'll always get the SN as the base name, or
a more complicated solution where I can really make some modifications to the report option dialog page to include that upon user selection.
    Thanks
    Rafi
    TS3.5+CVI8.0
p.s. an example, if exist, will be highly useful (and appreciated of course)

That's okay... I can answer here as well...
    Under Configure >> Report Option
UNSELECT "Store UUT Report in Batch Report File" first, then select "New UUT Report File for Each UUT"
New UUT Report File for Each UUT—Appends a string containing the current UUT serial number to the base name of the report file. For example, uut_report.html becomes uut_report[SN000001].html. This setting is not available if you select Store UUT Report in Batch Report File.

You can create a "Summary Column" in the upper group, and use the function Count
