Serial Number and Batch
Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement for creating serialized materials, I am not sure about need to activate batch management in the serialized materials. Can we activate only serial number with out batch management? What is the situations we need to activate batch management in the material masters?

there is no need to activate batch management to mainaint serial numbers, mention the serial number profile in material master. while making GR and goods issue of that material system will ask for serial numbers.
batchs are mainly maintained in pharma, chemical, electronics etc once you receive a meterial then it is treated as one batch.if you recive second time that is another batch for that material. because some parameter like denisty, colour, quality may not be same for all batchs. there may be slite difference, which is crucial in some industries, so maintaing batchs are necessary for that industries.

My client Maintains the Serial Number for Finished Good and Sub-Assembly.
and all the raw materials are procurred in batches.
I hav integrated the serial number for FG and Sub-Assy with T.Code COIB.
Now how can i retrieve the detail for a particular serial number for Finished Good, mean to say if any problem comes in market for the product and we get a serial number then how to drill down.
ANother question is How to integrate serial number for sub-assy's with the batch number of different raw materials.

If I got it right, you defined an AS-BUILT-Configuration manually. (COIB)
Normally the relationships are a result of the production process, meaning that for every serialized FG and SFG you have exactly one ProdOrd, and this way you also have the ROH batches that you issued to each ProdOrd = serial number.
Then based on this information you can create the full relationship tree for each serialized FG, and can also reference it by the batch number if for example there's something wrong with a certain batch (where used).

Serial number and batch determination in sales order
Good afternoon,
When I try to assign any serial numbers to a given material in sales order, the system returns the message "Maintaining serial numbers only possible, if valuation type is specified". I can workaround this by assigning a batch number to the item, then I can input my serial numbers normally.
Well, that leads me two questions:
1) Can we assingn serial numbers WITHOUT having to input batch numbers first?
2) If not, is it possible to determine batches in sales order items without having them created previously in tcode MSC1N?

Yes, I know this is an unusual scenario, but our customers require us to send the serial numbers of the products in advance for documentation purposes.

Serial number management and batch management are different functions that can be
used in conjunction with each other.
A batch represents a non-reproducible subset
of the total quantity of a material held in stock, which is managed separately from
other subsets of the same material.
For Example Different production lots
(for example, paints, wallpapers, pharmaceutical products), delivery lots or quality
grades of a material.
whereas a serial number is a number that you give to an individual item of material in addition
to the material number, in order to differentiate between this individual piece and all
other items of the material. The combination of material number and serial number
is unique. It is not necessary to use the batch management function to use serial
number management.

i was given a macbook 5.1 by my mom, being nice, she erased everything on it, but then could not find the original start up disc. i called apple and had the serial number and said that leopard 10.5 was the operating system that orginally came with it, so i bought it. when i got it,i turned on computer, put in dvd, and immediately shut it off, then turned it back on while pressing letter c. (they told me to do this) i can hear the disc turning but alls i get is blank screen then it shuts down, and restarts. nothing ever shows up on the screen. did i get a wrong disc? should there be something different than just the mac os x leopard 10.5 to get this computer to work again?? thanks for your help!
It means what it says. The "computer person" formatted it wrongly/ unsuitably. it needs to be formatted again.

Hi. My new computer had Acrobat on it. Suddenly, I was unable to open any PDF's. and then I tried to update and was forwarded to the Adobe site that said I had to buy a monthly subscription. I do not have the physical box with a serial number and was going to buy the one advertised on the website until I discovered it's only for students and teachers, which I am not. I have an iphone 4S and have a ringtine app. This app needs me to have a ringtone option in the left hand menu of my itines. I do not have a ringtone option.
I ahve tried to use the support website but as my itunes account is not on apple hardware, it is on a Dell laptop, I can not get a serial number and therefore can not progress. My problem started when I want to unlock my iphone 3gs via Imei.
My old iphone broke about a month after i bought it (it was 2 years ago), so i sent it to Movistar to change it (i think that they sent it to appleCare). Now Movistar told me that i have to send the old iphone imei in order to unlock the iphone i have now, i ask apple for the repair order receipt, then i received an email and i could see the information about the 2 iphones: the old broken one and the new one.
Then I realized that the iphone they sent me as a replacement (the new one) is not the same iphone i have. The serial number and the Imei are different, so, should apple change this data in their server in order to unlock my iphone or what can i do to solve it?
There is any formal way to perform this data change?

Francisco MarzabalHere we work with repairs for devices that does not have waranty (expired or other issue). In this case, I did the screen replacement. No other ipad was on my station, the ipad arrives, i took it change the glass, put everithing back, give to customer. Thats it. The job was done by me, the customer test his ipad in front on me, works fine, everything ok. Few days pass and he came back saying that it wasn't his ipad, he brings the box that the ipad came and ask me why the serial number does not match the serial number in the box (sorry NOT in the back of the ipad).
There were no other part changed only glass. After 7 years working on this, thats the first customer complaining about a work done here. After this I was curious and look for more information and some forums, also one port here is claiming that the serial number on the device is not the same as the box where it came.
I just want to make sure that there are possibilities that there could be such mistake during the packaging process.

Why can't I just type in an ipad serial number and find out what model it is? This used to be a function of the Apple Tech Specs. Why has it been removed? If it is in a different place, where is it?
Have you tried here? This will tell you which model of iPad you have when you enter the serial number.

I bought a new computer and downloaded my lightroom 4 to it. When I installed the program it asked for my serial number and I imputed it. Then it asked for my previous serial number from my original lightroom 3 purchase. Since I upgraded to lightroom 4 I don't have the serial number for the version 3. How do I get the serial number from my 3 version so I can activate my version 4 program
If you have Lightroom 3 still installed, you can get it from there.
If you don't and you have your box/disk, it should be on there.
IF you don't have either of those,and you registered your software, you can log into your Adobe account and retrieve it there. -

You can't install 9.2.1 or earlier on any Mac that is only Mac OS X bootable. In fact you need to use the restore disks which came with those Macs to install 9.2.2 on those Macs. 8.6 is only possible to install on Macs which came with 8.6 or earlier. The 9.1 disk may be useful for your 1999 PowerMac G4, but won't be of any use for a 2006 Powerbook G4.

Problem with serial number and installing PSE 12
I purchased Adobe PSE 12 yesterday and the purchase went through. But I never received a confoirmation email from Adobe. Now, when I try to enter the serial number to install, I'm told there is a problem with the serial number and I must contact customer support. Can't get through to customer support though. What should I do? I desperately need to get this program installed. Thanks.

First off, my computer had to be wiped clean back in early January. All my programs was gone and that included my CS6 program. So I re-installed them. Then one day, I see this Adobe update and it had the Adobe Creative Cloud App. I think I did something stupid and I wanted to tryout not only the Lightroom version, but Photoshop CC as well. My CS6 already had a Photoshop on it. I thought it would be a separated (you know, a separated program on one side and the other one on one side) and not interfere with my CS6 program. Now it's asking for a serial number and whenever I input my serial number (oh by the way, I got CS6 through my school by online; so I got a non disc version) it saying my serial number experied. So here's my questions:
1. If I remove the Adobe CC app off my computer, would the cc versions of my CS6 programs go away?
2. How many time can you installed the non disc version of CS6?
3. Cont. from the first question; If I re install CS6 and uninstalled the CC app would that help?
I know I sound almost computer illiterate, but I need help with this issues. I am college student, and I can't afford one CS6 program, rather alone the whole CS6 and I really need that suite in order to complete my assignments while at home.
