can't see the serial number can't see it no more.  What do i do?  in itunes to restore my ipod, can't see device but it's connect to my computer

    My ipad mini is frozen and won't allow me to use any buttons.  I can't access settings to get the serial number for Apple Support and I can't read the serial number from the back.  It's too small and shadowy.  There is a message that reads "ICloud Backup--This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks.  Back ups happen when this ipad is plugged in,locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
    It won't allow me to shut if off using the on and off button.  I stuck a paper clip into the tiny reset button, but nothing happens.
    Has anyone else had this problem?  Please help,

    This is the most common "fix" when devices are behaving strangely. It only takes a minute and there's no risk of lost data. This is the reason you'll see this fix being suggested so often.

    I cannot see anywhere redemption code or serial number that fits the 24 digits
    I have on the sleeve an 8 digit number starting with 8 underneath is block of mainly letters that start with PEPE but don't fit
    This is the second set Amazon has sent me- totally confused
    With the booket it says serial number starts with 1057?
    Hope someone can help. I have spent ages with Adobe earlier this week who asked me to go to different sites and provide proof of purchase ( which I did)

    Hi,
    Bought a Macbook Pro from a student. Checked the serial number to make sure it wasn't stolen or anything.
    Now I have hardware problems, but my serial number can't be found via https://selfsolve.apple.com/wcResults.do, which means the Service Center can't do anything.
    The serial can be found via http://support.apple.com/specs.
    Why can't my serial number be found?

    Not weird if it's NOT an Apple Product as Apple has pointed out.
    So you bought it from a Student not from an Apple store or Reseller. Did you see the Receipt for it? Do you know where whoever you bought it from got it?
    Maybe it fell off the back of a trunk and Apple has written those serial # out of it's database which = No service  or support.

    If you never bought the product then you cannot get the serial number.

    If you bought it from the Apple Online Store call them, Contacts are listed in the bottom right of this page. If you bought it from a particular Apple Store you will need to call that store.

    Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

    No! Apple is not law enforcement and therefore does not have personal investigating lost or stolen property other than Apple's own.
    Even if they had the information data protection laws would prevent them from giving it to you or anybody else including law enforcement.

  • VWLC serial number can change if using disaster recovery.

    I know this was published before but I cannot find it at the moment so I will republish.
    If  a person is running DRS for VMWare or any type of disater recovery  solution that moves the vWLC to another host, the serial number of the  vWLC will change. Since our SN is node-locked to the UUID in VMWare, if  the UUID changes, the UDI (and serial number) of the controller will  also change. The only way to avoid this from happening is to maintain  the UUID in VMware .

    Both bugs now fixed as of wlc release 8.0.100.

    On the line w/ Cisco Licensing right now.  VMotioned my vWLC running 7.6.100.0 to another node in the ESXI cluster.  After I had rebooted, poof... all licensing was missing.   Luckily we should have the license keys rehosted here shortly so I can get my APs back online.
    I don't see version 8.0.115.0 listed as a version with the known fixes, just the 8.0(100.0), and 8.0(72.160).   Can anyone confirm the bug is fixed in 8.0(115.0) as well please?  I would prefer not to vMotion again and repeat this entire licensing exercise if unnecessary.   ;)  Thanks for the posting!
