Serial Number Entry Funtion

Is there any way to set the serial number entry funtion DisplayUUTInformationDialog to be modal or floating? I want it to stay on top of the user interface when I scroll through the sequence steps or report for example. I would have thought this would be selectable some way. Like the message pop-up.

Hi,
You can override the PRE UUT (http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052N-01/tsexamples/infotopics/process_model_parallel/).
Skip the existing UUT dialog steps and replace with your own steps which gets the serial number ( using message popup or LV or any other language).
Since its a custom step you can make it the way you want it - modal or non modal.
The default serial number dialog in not modal.
It does the following function which your custom serial step should do :
On user clicking ok on the serial number dialog the parameters.UUT.serial number is updated with the user defined serial number.
Also you need to update the paramters.continue testing if user clicks cancel on the serial dialog.

Serial number entry after posting delivery doc......

hi experts....
we have a requirement in which in the standard sales cycle of Sales order->delivery document posting ( PGI)-> invoice billing the client wants that serial number entry (which is done at the time of PGI) should be done after invoicing(at the end of the day) because as per the business practice of the client, its not practically feasible for the client to enter serial numbers at the time of selling the finished material. The client manually records the serial numbers on the invoice copy and enters the serial numbers for the respective invoices at the end of the day.
Now while testing the client scenario we found that once PGI & invoicing has been done without entering the serial number for the material, the system does not accept any serial number assignment for that material after the completion of sales cycle.
So is there any solution in which serial number can be entered for a material whose PGI and invoicing has been completed?

Hello,
As you know the system may not allow to enter the serial number details in the delivery --> Extras --> Serial numbers field, once the delivery is completely PGI'ed and invoiced.
But you may change the same in the table by debug mode. You need to update serial number in the material document in the table level also. Contact your ABAP expert, he may be able to guide you properly.

Audition CS6 requires a Serial number entry at every startup

Audition CS6 requires a serial number entry everytime I start the program. How do I fix this.? It is very annoying and If I get locked out of the program before I fix the dance recital music Its not going to go well for me here.

You don't say whether you are on Windows or not, but if so you might try running the program once as an Administrator. Once the serial has been accepted, then try running as a regular user.

VERY URGENT: serial number entry

HI ALL,
In Table MASE - store the last serial number, which is not done by any trasaction from R/3 easy acess, now system considering this entry as a reference for all materil and give serial number.
But user have its own number range like 1300, but as in table MASE the value is stored as 11293, its taking this as a ref number and giving the next serial number like 11294, 11295 etc.
PLZ CAN YOU SUGGEST HOW TO DELETE THE VALUSE 11293 FROM TABLE MASE.
ANS will reward defntly.

We dont have facility to assign no. ranges to Serial No. instead we give No. ranges for Equipment Categories and assign this Equipment Catgoriy to Serial No. Profile.By Assigning the Serial No. profile to a material master, the system will use the Serial Nos from No. ranges for Equipment Category.
U can check the number ranges for equipment category from TC OIEN.
Also is there any custom table for serial number format maintained..???
or any BAPI or FM used in creating customer specific Serial numbers..???

Exceeded Serial Number Entry-ordering Recovery Disc

Ordering recovery disc for Pavilion dv7-1245dx. I am in the USA so checked that. Entered the serial number on the order form. Came back incorrect number. Tried again and same error. Tried the letter"O" instead of zero/nil - same error. Then, since the number began with CND I guessed it might be a Candian product. Checked Canada on previous page and re-entered the serial number. This time it said I had exceed the allowed attempts to enter a serial number. The link shown for support was a 404 dead-end. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Check you have the correct Serial No. by checking the entry in the bios. To do this, shut down the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you press the power button to enter the Bios Menu - on the initial page you should see several details relating to your notebook such as Model No. Product No. and also your Serial No.

Serial Number entry

i have created a serial number profile for deliveries where the user can enter the first serial number manually and create the rest automatically.
Sometimes on large deliveries with 110 pieces have different serial numbers that are not in order assigned to them.
example 20 pieces have a serial number range of 1 -20
40 have it from 40-80
10 have it from 90-100
30 have it 110-140
How can someone enter all of them without manually doing it one by one which is realistically not feasible.

Hi there,
When you automate the serial num entry, as per the standard process, system will assign the next available serial num in the system. In your case could be that some serial num in between are already assigned. This is same as generate serial num automatically function where the system will assign the next available serial num.

yeah you are right its an unique number which is assigned to the product by the supplier which is not an barcode or PLU. when i tried to find the same i found vpn and LOV like upc , isbn and oracle retail number etc while i am in the process of creating an item.
i would like to know after we create an oracle retail number or the retailer's own sku number if we want to add multiple ean code and unique serial code how can we execute the same in RMS.
eg 1: a brand of a shampoo will have its common sku number but at the same time it can have multiple ean code/bar codes.
eg 2: mobile phones with common sku number can have IMEI and other codes .

Dreamweaver Serial Number Entry Fails - even trial version, serial screen freezes

Well, I have Vista Home Premium, and a new hard drive. I
previously had Dreamweaver CS3 installed, but then had to get a new
hard drive. So, I downloaded the trial off the website, and the
install runs fine. I sold my old copy of Dreamweaver, thinking I
didn't need it. Now, I realize I do need it after all, so I will be
buying a new license.
However, when I first load Dreamweaver, and it asks for the
license or to try the trial, I click try the trial, and "next".
Well, it just freezes on me, and I have to either end the process,
or just let it sit there doing nothing. The installation worked
fine - but it just won't load. I ever tried using a friends serial
key (ONLY to see if I could get past the initial screen), but it
froze, too. I'm glad I haven't bought a serial yet - waste of money
if this won't work.
On the other hard drive, everything worked just fine, and I
deactivated and ran the CS3 installer cleanup. The ONLY change from
then until now is getting a new SATA hard drive, and changing from
IDE mode to SATA on the bios.
I have done three or four reformats, and have tried the
following:
Plain install, with everything in normal state
Reformat, install after installing drivers, some software
Reformat, install with NO drives, except for ethernet
Reformat, install with all drivers, UAC in Vista left ON
I'm out of ideas. I'm tried of reinstalling Vista, although
it does install fast.
Here's what happens:
Copy installer from flash drive to hard drive
Run installer, which extracts itself
Run real installer, installs fine
Reboot (in some cases, didn't)
Open Dreamweaver
Select free-trial (or, in one case, tried friend's product
key)
Click next
Screen freezes
Then, I have tried: ending all Adobe processes (bonjour,
Dreamweaver, licensor, etc), reboot, and try again. Same result
Just reboot, try again - same result
Turn off all firewalls, security devices, etc BEFORE
installing for the first time. Same result.
Uninstalled, ran CS3 cleaner utility, installed again. Same
result.
Again, the ONLY changes are:
Different hard drive (250GB Seagate 7200.10 SATA, instead of
160GB Western Digital Caviar IDE).
So - did the installer off the website change? Does it not
work now? Does it get stuck on the registration page?
I have tried Flash and Photoshop, too. Both have the same
result. What could be conflicting with the licesning service to
make it freeze like that? Can I manually tell it to go to a trial
mode, or manually enter in a license key in some file?
I'm leery of trying a P2P version, which would be an earlier
version of CS3, because I'm not sure what baggage would come with
it, nor do I want to end up in court for trying to get Adobe's
product to work.

Asset Serial Number entry via SRM Receipting

Hello,
We have a situation where in our SRM environment, users are creating shopping carts where the Material on the shopping cart line item requires a serial number to be entered upon receipt.
We have not found a good way to allow users to enter the serial number of the item during goods receipt, other than giving them access to t-code MIGO in ECC. We are looking to see if SRM has a way to enter the serial number for assets during the standard SRM receipting process.
I appreciate any help.

There is a function...er sorry method.. called ConnectListBarPages in your MainForm.cs file. It looks like this:

You see that huge string witht the @ sign at the beginning. That is using resource strings to pull the serial number from your execution. If you look closely at this string you'll see the CurrentExecution, UUTSerialNumber, TestSocketIndex, and ModelState being pulled out to update the DisplayExpression. Which is what you see in the listbar. See attached image. All these properties (except currentExecution) are part of your ModelData in your process model. If those don't get updated then according to the logic in the string depends on what gets put in there.
Hope this helps clarify a little. It gets tricky when dealing with multithreading.

I am using serial number. But in this scenario the Cleint would get to know the serial number after billing. The client also wants to do Invoicing after PGI only.
So in short i wnt to enter serial number after PGI .

Hi there,
Once delivery is PGI'ed you cannot make any changes to the delivery doc. All the fields will be greyed out.
Standard SAP doesnot allow you to make any changes after delivery is PGI'ed. If your client requirement insists on that then check in SAPMV50A if you can put any customized logic.
Also just for clarification, why do you want to enter the serial num manually? Its always advisible to automatically allow the system to generate them. How does your client decide on the serial num format?

Say i create PO for 10 Computers and each of them have a serial number. And while doing Goods receipt against a purchase order is there a field for serial numbers to be entered. If so what kind settings to be done.

Serial no can be used for the following business transactions.
   1. Goods Receipt/Goods isssue and other inventory postings.
   2.sales orders and delivery notes
   3.maintenance orders
   4.production orders.
Settings:
1. create a serial number profile in customising.
2. Assign the serial number profile in the material master record in work
     scheduling view for fert and raw material check the other views.
Business procedures may be assigned in configuration to a serial number profile.
The assignment to the serial number profile determines if serial numbers are required , can be assigned, must be assigned,are assigned automatically
MMSL : Goods issue , receipts,stockj transfers,stock transport orders

Any Invalid Serial Number Installation Issue With PSE 12 - PE 12 Windows or Mac ?

Today I went from Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 tryouts to the purchased boxed versions that came with two installation discs. One of the discs was for Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 Windows and the other for these versions on Mac.
On Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit desktop computer, I was hit with Invalid Serial Number for the installation of Photoshop Elements 12 which I did first. Tried 4X, double and triple checking to make sure this was not "user error". It was not. On the 5th try, the purchased serial number was accepted and the installation went to a successful completion.
Tonight a friend alerted me to reports of similar happening for a lot of Photoshop Elements 12 Mac users. See the link posted at the top of my post.
At no time did I see this problem with Premiere Elements 12 installation from the same disc as for Photoshop Elements 12 installation.
Afterward, I installed these programs with the same installation disc on my laptop computer Windows 8 64 bit, I did not have any problems with either installation.
At this time, I do not know if this Invalid Serial Number is elusive to Photoshop Elements 12 or not.
If anyone is experiencing this problem with Premiere Elements, please let us know.
From the link above, it would appear that Adobe is working on the issue.

In my case, I had the network firewalls and anti-virus disabled when I did the installs of Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7 64 bit as well as Windows 8 64 bit.
I was fortunate in that a 5th try of the serial number entry for the Photoshop Elements 12 install on Windows 7 64 bit was successful, so I did not have to do the computer restart and retry of the install with the purchased serial number. But, good to keep in mind, just in case.
It is ironic...last time around I got caught up in the Shared Technologies issues with Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 8 64 bit, not Windows 7 64 bit. But, in that case, I did find my way eventually to a successful install on Windows 8 64 bit. This time around it was Windows 7 64 bit where the glitch occurred, but, for me, only for Photoshop Elements 12.
But, could you clarify...are you generalizing that Photoshop Elements 12 Mac Invalid Serial Number is due to server issues and Invalid Serial Number encountered by Photoshop Elements 12 Windows is "online - due to some firewall or network issues"?
Just getting prepared for if and when more questions on Invalid Serial Number might pop up in this forum.

Where's my Serial Number?

Hello, this morning I received the Adobe CS5.5 Design Premium package as a present and it is a Student/Teacher Education Edition, and I went to the site it told me to, to get my serial number so I can install it on my computer. The site doesn't work, and I can't seem to find the serial number on the package or disk or anything at all. I found the "Produce Code" but that's not it because I obviously can't type LETTERS into the "serial number" entries. Only numerals. The site the instruction paper told me to go to is http://www.adobe.com/go/edu-validate and yes I did try chrome, safari, AND firefox and the site is either constantly taking beyond forever to load or it says "This site is currently unavailable."
Please help me, because I'm confused.
UPDATE (STILL UN-ANSWERED): The site seemed to finally load on safari and I entered my product code and hit "I'm ready for Step 2" now it's not loading at all again.

Multiple JTextPane Interesting Implementation for serial numbers entries

Hi fellows,
I am trying to implement as simply as possible a multiple JtextPanes Entries that would
behave the same way as serial number entries in classic installshields.
Let there be 4 JTextfields :
txt1 txt2 txt3 txt4
So I would like to:
A\ get the focus on the next JTextField at the right of the current one every time
the user has enterer 4 letters/numbers in a JtextField
B\ to limit the number of characters that the user can enter in each JTextField
There are many possible ways to do this but i am trying to keep it simple and to find
the smartest way to implement it :o)

I don't use JDK1.4 yet, but the JFormattedTextField might help you.

CC serial number....grief

From where does one obtain the serial number ...for CC versions of the APPS? (Converting trials to licenced)
I was supplied PO numbers and VIP numbers...but not a serial in sight or any way to find one.
I followed a path to an Adobe supplied solution that does not work as indicated.

Following that goes straight to Serial Number entry boxes one one signs in!
I used to love typing in the long complicated serial numbers that came with the disks / boxes on a little sticker. .
Always worked for me.
Seems all downloads originate as trials so thought this could have been much beter thought out!
Also...totally underwhelmed how Adobe rubs our noses in the advantageous prices their US customers get for these products . Large splash screen showing the rates.
Very very uncool seeing we all go to the same CLOUD space to get the apps.

Just got sorted.
A rep from Adobe New Zealand contacted me and nailed the issue by taking me thru a few very un intuitive steps. He is passing the issue back to Adobe.
Brilliant service and I was well impressed that my supplier arranged that to happen.
We may pay extra outside the US but maybe thats why.
One of the steps in the Team User setup is ..you need to invite your self to participate in your own Cloud Subscription via the Adfmon Console.
The invitation to one self appears to be as if one is setting up (inviting) another team member. Its not. Original user becomes #1 in the team.
For the record - there are no serials required for users in the Team Cloud ( and maybe not anywhere else). That is a hangover from when there was Cloud CS6 and perpetual licence options.
Maybe that helps others.
