Serial-Number for creative Cloud

Hi,
I purchased Creative Cloud some days ago, and I can´t get through to the programs without having a serial number. But I know I´m not supposed to need one.
I asked the support team for help, and they said i should do this:
Open a  Finder window. Choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type  /etc hit return, find Hosts file in etc folder and copy it to Desktop
Right click the Hosts in etc folder and click on Move to Trash.
Open the Hosts file which is copied on the Desktop.
Or you can look for the entry 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com and delete this text.
But I can´t find the folders on my mac. Where do I go in my finder, to find this folder?
I downloaded a trial version before I bought Creative Cloud. May that cause any problems?
I have a macbook pro, prosessor 2.2 GHZ Intel Core i7, version 10.8.2.

Okey, I tried to delete the one line the other guy told me to delete. And now it looks like this. should I delete all of them?
Is there something else I should delete? Because it is still not working.
Should I have copyed it to the desktop as the other guy wrote?

    I downloaded the adobe creative cloud (free) and then downloaded the premiere pro CC and after effect CC for 30 days trial. However, when the time expired and I tried to activate it by paying that monthly payment, it told me to have a serial number. Where is the serial number for creative cloud? I downloaded it from Internet and it might had an email with the serial number, but I may deleted it. How should I request to resend the serial number to me, or how should I find it online?

    Creative cloud do not need a serial number. it will be using your Adobe ID on which you have purchased the creative cloud membership.
    So you need to login with your Adobe ID and password to activate the cloud membership.
    Log out & log back in of the CC Desktop App.
    In case it is not signing in successfully please try the following:
    I don't know which operating system you are working on so i am giving you some steps windows and MAC OS:
       Windows:
       In windows 7 navigate to following location:
         /windows/system32/drivers/etc
       1. look out for "Hosts" file
       2. Open it with notepad
       3. Check if you have any entry for Adobe
       4. Remove the entries and try again launching any product from CC
       On Windows XP navigate to following location:
       \windows\system32\drivers\etc
       1. look out for "Hosts" file
       2. Open it with notepad
       3. Check if you have any entry for Adobe
       4. Remove the entries and try again launching any product from CC
       Mac:
       1. Please click on "Go" and navigate to /private/etc
       2. Open "hosts" file and check out for any entries for Adobe.com
       3. Remove the entries and save the file
       4.  try again launching any product from CC

  • Lightroom Serial Number in Creative Cloud

    I have been using Lightroom everyday with no problem then today it has started up as if it is loading for the first time & asking for a serial number. I am using the Creative Cloud for Photographers & I don't seem to have a serial number. can anyone help?

    There is no serial number for any Cloud apps. They are activated via your Adobe ID.
    Close PS and Lightroom.
    In the Cloud desktop app, try signing out of your Adobe account then signing back in. See if it makes any difference to Lightroom being recognized as licensed under your Adobe ID.

  • Serial Number Required - Creative Cloud Subscription is Active!

    I am getting very frustrated! I just paid for a Creative Cloud subscription three days ago. I have the Adobe Application Manager on my computer and it is working smoothly for several programs. However, when I try to use Photoshop, it requires me to license the product. I sign in with my Creative Cloud subscriber email, and it asks for a serial number (which, of course, I don't have).
    I've seen lots of people posting about this problem, but no solution. Is Adobe addressing this? Photoshop was one of the main reasons that I got this subscription! I don't want to waste my money on a program I cannot use.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Lets try two more steps to fix the problem.
    First run the Adobe Cleaner Tool.
    You can download it from here http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html.
    In the drop-down in the top right select Creative Cloud and then highlight Creative Cloud Installer.
    Now click on the Cleanup selected button.
    Next install the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) for Mac.
    You can get it from here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.
    Launch AAM and sign in with your Adobe ID.
    This is removing the Creative Cloud applet that AAM uses and then re-installing AAM. This does not affect the install of Photoshop and Illustrator.

    I have bought the creative cloud today but when I want to start a program there is a warning : the test version is over and I have to buy the cloud or enter a serial number . but I bought it already and I have of course no serial number !!! so what should I do??? I need the things on monday

    open your adobe application manager or creative cloud desktop application.
    log into the app if not already logged in.
    see if there's an update for your photoshop.  if there is, update it and retry starting photoshop.

    A few months ago i was in the same position, having to re-install Creative Suite on a new laptop. For some reason it was very easy, but I can't remember how it was done. I don't want to have to contact my institution for proof of status again, and wait several days to get a response. I am on a deadline for something before then. Any advice gratefully received.

    I migrated by stuff from a Mac Mini to a Mac Pro but then couldnt open InDesign CS6. Problem is I have the box for the 6 upgrade but not the disc. The only serial number I have is on the CS5 discs. I go to my account and can see that Ipurchased the upgrade on June 5 2012. I even have the invoice. But I cant get through to either talk or online chat to someone.

  • Adobe can not validate the serial number for Creative Suite 6 Design, what's going wrong?

    After purchasing and downloading en before installing the CS6 Design Standard package on my Apple (iMac), the serial number is requested.  After completing the SN (as sent), I get the following message: "We can not validate this serial CS6 Design Standard". What am I doing wrong?

    That entries are blocking the product to reach Adobe servers.
    Move your hosts file to desktop and open it from there.
    Then remove entries like " 127.0.0.1 lm.licenses.adobe.com " ( There should not be any Adobe related entries )
    Once you have removed, close hosts window.
    The drag the file back to etc folder and replace it with original hosts file.. ( open hosts once again and confirm there are no adobe entries.
    Then try.

  • My serial number for creative suite CS3 production premium student edition is not being accepted.

    I forgot to deactivate it on my last computer before selling it. I now do not have access to it. I am wondering if this is why it won't work. now what do i do? there does not seem to be a phone number advertised that I can call.

  • We are unable to validate this serial number for CS6 Design Standart. What's wrong with my key or why won't it validate?

    I bought the CS6 Design Standard student and teacher edition over amazon. I activated the product on my adobe account and got a serial number. But when I install the package and enter the serial number I a message saying "We are unable to validate this serial number for Creative Suit 6 Design Standard. Please contact Customer Support."
    Does anyone know what is up with this? I am sure that the problem isn't anything along the lines of making mistakes when typing in the serial (tried it multiple times, used copy paste to reduce chance of error). It's also not any problem with me lacking an internet connection adobe to validate the serial.
