Serial number for digitally downloaded product

I purchased a digital download at Amazon, and was given a 1 user license with an activation key. However, now my product keeps opening a window asking for a serial number which I do n ot have.  How do I resolve this?

check all the files you downloaded for a text or pdf file that contains your serial number.  perform a search in case the file is buried in a sub-directory.
