Serial number for InDesign CS4 won't work.
I have Creative Suite 4. Everything was working until I took my computer to a shop to have it worked on. Now everything works except for Indesign. When I put in my serial number it says it's invalid. I deactivated Illustrator and tried reinstalling creative suite and still everything is working except for Indesign. What can I do?
That is patently not true.
You should be able to look it up yourself as I described above.
My serial numbers go back to a copy of Adobe Persuasion I bought in 1993!
Does your serial number has 24 digits?
If necessary, call Customer Service and ask for a supervisor to get satisfaction.

There is no pop up. There is a window that is part of the installation process. If you entered a wrong number, like a redemption code, you would have wound up installing it as a trial. In that case, go to the Help menu in the editor and look for an option there.

I lost my Serial number for InDesign and need it to load InDesign not my new iMac. How can I request my number from Adobe?
Could it be registered under a different identity? I've used three identities over the years to register stuff, so I have to do some looking around to find stuff. Try old email addresses as possible IDs.

Shared Content InDesign Plugin for InDesign CS4 won't open file
Yesterday I discontinued using Adobe CC and went back to using my Adobe InDesign CS4. CS4 is working OK but there is ONE file that won't open. I get the message "Shared Content InDesign Plugin is currently not available on your system". The file will not open. Is there a workaround or how do I get the required plugin?
You get that error when the file was saved in CS5 or later. You can find out the version using the script at Adobe Forums: [Ann] Identify Your InDesign File.
You'll need to export the file to .idml from the newer version to be able to open it in CS4. This is something I normally offer to do, but I'm not available for at least a week, so perhaps one of our other regulars can step up and volunteer. -
Cancelled Serial Number for Photoshop CS4 Extended
In 2010 I purchased a copy of Photoshop CS4 Extended. I have been using it happily ever since until last weekend when I made the mistake of upgrading my PC to Windows 8. I reinstalled Photoshop and all worked well until a few hours later a message came up saying that my Serial Number was invalid. I contacted Adobe on-line chat service and went through my problem in detail. They confirmed that there system was saying my SN was a fake. I was asked to contact the Piracy department which I did sending them scanned images of the CDs and packaging showing the serial number etc. That was at the beginning of the week and I am now left with a locked out application and no way of escalating the problem. I have been told that eventually the piracy whiz kids will contact me.
Has anybody had this problem before and does anybody know how I can actually talk to a living being in Adobe. I have spent hours trying to find a telephone number that I can use to contact the piracy department.
It is just as well photo editing is not my main job!! The kids would be starving.Vanwell did you purchase the software originally from Adobe? If not have you tried contacting the reseller who sold you Creative Suite 4?
Our piracy team will likely investigate the details but it is likely you will need to work with the seller of the software if you wish to obtain a refund or be compensated for your purchase. -
Adobe Premiere Elements - serial number provided by Adobe won't work
Trying to install Premiere Elements ....
Entering serial number provided by email after online purchase (from Adobe) on a Windows 8.1 OS gives "Adobe genuine software verification failure": "The product you are trying to install...appears to be counterfeit"
Tried installing a trial version and then entering serial no. into purchase option - didn't work.

This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. From your description of the issue, it would appear that Adobe is the only one who can resolve your issue.
Please confirm what version of Premiere Elements is involved and on what computer operating system is involved.
If you purchased Premiere Elements 13 from Adobe within 30 days of purchase, Adobe should be able to resolve this problem

Purchased serial number for iWork 08 does not work
Hi--I recently downloaded the trial version of 08, then went and purchased the serial number once it ran out. The serial number is rejected when i try to use it--just says it's invalid. in the email i got with the serial number, the link showing how to use it leads me to an upgrade from 06 to 08. But I have never had 06. Very puzzled--have been onto Apple for telephone support but they can't solve it. Any clues? Thanks

Why not? Vista is a MAJOR change from what was used when P7 was written
Both Microsoft AND Apple (ala Snow Leopard OS) are known to break things with each new version of their operating system software
Even within Microsoft, the Office 97 I use with WinXP does not work with Vista or Windows 7
When I build a 64bit computer next year and start using Win7 64bit, I will have to buy a new MS Office and all new Adobe CS5 software -

This is absolutely the worst!!!Have you checked the host file entry? Sometimes Adobe entries are made in host file which blocks Adobe.
In case it is not signing in successfully please try the following:
I don't know which operating system you are working on so i am giving you some steps windows and MAC OS:
Windows:
In windows 7 navigate to following location:
/windows/system32/drivers/etc
1. look out for "Hosts" file
2. Open it with notepad
3. Check if you have any entry for Adobe
4. Remove the entries and try again launching any product from CC
Mac:
1. Please click on "Go" and navigate to /private/etc
2. Open "hosts" file and check out for any entries for Adobe.com
3. Remove the entries and save the file
4. try again launching any product from CC

Trying to find the serial number for my InDesign
Greetings all,
I work in the art department of a printing company that has 11 artist on Macs using Adobe software. I'm currently reformatting some of the Macs we use to clear off old software. My problem is that I need to reinstall the same InDesign back onto the respective Mac, I have 11 copies of InDesign, and I'm not sure which one is on a particular Mac. As you can probably infer the organization of our software up to this point is not exactly well thought out.
So, long story short, how do I locate the serial number for InDesign on the Mac? I know it used to show you a partial serial number in the opening splash page, and in Illustrator you can find it in the system info panel under the help menu. But, I just can't find it in InDesign.

This is expected. Serial numbers are platform specific and platform swaps only apply to current versions. You need to upgrade to CS6 and make the switch.
