Serial number format?

Doh! I can't install the PVR because the program won't accept the serial number printed on my CD. Should I use hypens somewhere in the string?

Have you tried upper and lower case or try to match the case?
could there be letters or numbers that could be confused? like 6 or G or 6 or b, O or 0, etc.

Invalid Serial number during upgrade from 10.4.11 to 10.5

I upgraded our Xserve from 10.4.11 to 10.5 and when it first boots after the install, I get to the enter serial number screen. At this point the 10.5 serial number I enter goes through validating and then says invalid serial number format. I have several serial numbers I have tried so I know that a wrong serial is not the cause. I have tried connecting from another computer with server admin and changing the serial number that way, which when, I do shows the 10.4 serial number but then says invalid serial when entering the 10.5 serial. It seems like it is confused on what the serial number or format should be. Is there a way to manually install a serial number or at least get past it so I can then install the most recent update and hope that fixes this issue? I see there were some similar issues with the 10.5.8 update but I think the install dvd is only 10.5 or 10.5.1 maybe.

Well I finally got past it by ssh'ing into the server while it was at the serial number page and issuing it this command and specifying my serial number
/System/Library/ServerSetup/serversetup -setServerSerialNumber xsvr-xxx-xxx-x-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-x
I then rebooted the server and it came back to the same enter serial number screen but upon entering it one more time, it validated and is happy now.

I'm trying to download easy cap software from a cd.
The install process requires me to divulge my laptops serial number.
Problem is I cannot proceed without inputting 19 digits whereas my serial number only has 9.
Is there something I'm missing here?

Is "easy cap" screen capture software or the hardware to capture video? If the latter then [http://forum.easycap.co.uk] . In either case I doubt that either software house has a list of laptop serial number formats and any 19 digits will do. But is your problem with a video capture package such as Ulead and your software was supplied as an OEM bundle with a different manufacturer's PC?

VERY URGENT: serial number entry

HI ALL,
In Table MASE - store the last serial number, which is not done by any trasaction from R/3 easy acess, now system considering this entry as a reference for all materil and give serial number.
But user have its own number range like 1300, but as in table MASE the value is stored as 11293, its taking this as a ref number and giving the next serial number like 11294, 11295 etc.
PLZ CAN YOU SUGGEST HOW TO DELETE THE VALUSE 11293 FROM TABLE MASE.
ANS will reward defntly.

We dont have facility to assign no. ranges to Serial No. instead we give No. ranges for Equipment Categories and assign this Equipment Catgoriy to Serial No. Profile.By Assigning the Serial No. profile to a material master, the system will use the Serial Nos from No. ranges for Equipment Category.
U can check the number ranges for equipment category from TC OIEN.
Also is there any custom table for serial number format maintained..???
or any BAPI or FM used in creating customer specific Serial numbers..???

Getting Light Room 4 Serial Number logged in to start

I purchase Adobe Light Room 4 several months ago and loaded the software on my iMac. I just tried to get started and was unable to get acceptance of my serial number. My serial number is an 18 character string. My serial number has a bar code under it. There is also an ID PN and is followed by 8 numbers. I also tried submitting that ID and still didn't get the next button to light up. I noticed that the serial number format for Adobe LightRoom4 for signing in was 24 characters. What am I doing wrong?

the 3,4,5th are the keys (year and week)
it can be, the 2nd 3rd and 4th too
or not?
i have to look for the first number from left to right, correct? its the year,but can be the factory. how do I know it?

No it could not be from the "31th" (sic) week of 2007.
It is from the 15st (sic ) of 2003.
The 1st numerical character is not always the year.
V7 indicates it was made in Taiwan.
If you want to know what it is without having to look it up, you need to memorize every plant code and serial number formatApple has used. They recently changed the serial number format.

Did you de-activate CS5.5 before you reformatted C? You can have up to 2 installations of software at one time. You may have exceeded your limit. Contact support to help you de-activate one.

Please try the following:
Delete the Adobe PCD folder and caps.db file:
Windows: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db
Launch Acrobat and enter the serial number and check.

Formatted Search on Serial Number (goods receipt PO)

Dear Expert,
I have the problem on generate Serial Number. I want to used formatted search to created serial number,
the structure of serial number is : x-99-9999-9999-99999
1st   x = type of product (Regular, Consignment, Tenant)
2nd 999 = Brand type
3rd   9999 = Category
4th   9999 = Year received
5th   99999 = counter number
for example : Item A with quantity 100 units,
so.. what the formatted search that I want
On window serial number (detail level), I pressed Shift F2, so.. "the formatted search " will fill in each row on detail level until quantity (header level) --> will fill in until row 100
I do not want used Generate Serial number which SBO facility, because it is many step to used it so that our user (warehouse staff) will confuse to used it.
Does anyone have solution to solve my problem?

Formatted search is basically used for getting data from your data base. It will not allow you to enter any data in your data base.
So your query can be solved only by using SDK.
I can suggest you that through SDK you can provide standard Serial no entering screen where he will just enter the kind of serial no.
This facility can be provided by using tab on Serial no screen.

Probook 4515s invalid serial number after format.

Hello from beautiful Greece.
I have a probook and for many months it closed many times by it self. So i think that was fun problem. I decide to make a format and after that my pc doesnt open again.
I take a screen with invalid serial number at the left corner and after that nothing, blank screen. When i go to bios i see that there are no infos about hdd, cs, motherboard serial number etc, so i cant boot from usb. I also delete the recover section on my hdd and i cant run recovely.
I reinstall the bios but nothing. Any soloution?

Then, on right hand side panel, click on 'Desktop' under Apps section. And then location Acrobat XI Pro and download it.

How do I find a serial number after re-formatting and reinstalling? System is claiming I have a trial when I've purchased almost $10,000 worth of Adobe software.

I purchased Production Premium which includes Photoshop CS5.1 Extended. Had to reformat hard drive and reinstall software. Photoshop will open only as a trial. Says it needs serial number. The serial number for Production Premium 5.0 and 5.5 don't work. There is no serial number for individual programs, just the entire suite. Adobe won't provide phone support. How am I supposed to get a serial number from a forum???

That's what I did. I re-installed the entire suite. Then opened Photoshop 5.1 Extended from Applications. When I open, it says I'm opening a trial version unless I put in the correct serial number. I've tried the serial number from the 5.0 suite and the 5.5 suite, both of which we purchased for over $5,000. Neither work and Adobe's telling me they won't provide phone support for anything other than Creative Cloud, and my back office at Adobe verifies I'm using the correct serial numbers. It's appearing that Adobe's view now is if you aren't regularly renting the latest software from them, they just don't give a damn about your purchases, no matter how extensive. So now where do I go next if Adobe won't support?
