Serial number InDesign 5.5

Hello,
I know there are more questions about finding the serial code for InDesign, but nothing works for me.
I could find the serial code for Photoshop, Illustrator without a problem. But it's different with InDesign. I haven't registered the programs, I never knew this was even an option. My computer is broken; it only works for a couple of minutes before failing. I could find the codes for Photoshop and Illustrator within this short time, but it is impossible for me to register now and find my serial code. I've tried scripting (other people told me about a script for InDesign which reveales the code) but this didn't work either. And than my computer broke down again.
Isn't there any way to just find the code within the program?
When my computer is fixed, I will have to install the trial versions of Adobe and than add the right serial code so the program is legal again. So I really need that serial code
Thankyou!

  • Serial Number InDesign 7.5 doesn't work anymore

I bought Adobe InDesign in October 2011 and had since then a serial. I bought it online as download. Now I had to buy a new computer, so I also had to install InDesign again, but now it doesn't accept my serial anymore.
I just found CreativeCloud to download InDesign, but the serial is for the version 7.5
    Thanks
    Silke

Do you have the installer you originally downloaded for the other computer? That's what you should be using.
You can download the trial installer from Download Adobe CS5.5 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager) | ProDesignTool but I don't know if your student serial number will work (and I suspect it will not). If you do want to download from that link, make sure you read the whole page and follow the directions EXACTLY or it will not work.

    Hello Bradley,
sometimes the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
But as much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
I quote: ... helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite (CS3-CS6) applications. The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications.
Please use: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html   and follow the prescribed sequence of operations
If necessary and for further questions click through http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html or http://helpx.adobe.com/de/contact.html and if "open" please use chat, I had the best experiences.
    Good luck!

  • InDesign Suddenly Not Recognizing Serial Number

I have CS2, which I installed right after I bought the Intel Mac, 3 years ago.
Was able to enter the Photoshop serial number that it wanted at that time, but I have since lost or misplaced the folder that had all my Adobe registration info.
I have the Photoshop disks, the manuals [remember when you actually GOT manuals!], the original boxes, but I can find only ONE serial number, 6.5 upgrade, and the CS2 Install disk doesn't like it.
I have the CS2 serial number.
    Here's the problem:
A last week, I had InDesign open and minimized all day while I was dealing with a website issue that took way longer than I thought it would. Forgot all about InDesign. When I tried to shut down at the end of the day, I had to ForceQuit InDesign, but it closed.
The next morning when I tried to open InDesign to continue working, I was presented with the registration page.
I HAVE no serial number just for InDesign except for a previous upgrade [removed by forum moderator] but the InDesign screen doesn't like that at all.
So, I thought I would see if I could re-install it from the original CS2 disks. I put in the first disk and IT wants information! I supplied the serial number but it asks for the serial number of a Photoshop 5.0 or later. I have 5.0, 5.5, and 6.0 - the disks, the manuals, the original boxes, and I entered the ONE serial number I was able to find. It didn't like it.
I've had several Adobe IDs, numerous computer, lots of different email addresses, four or five different physical addresses, and during the past 3+ years have dealt with power outages blowing machines, a flood, and no printer on this Mac. One of my accounts is showing some product registrations, but not all and not a Photoshop 5.0 or beyond. It's showing Elements and Premier, which I purchased afterward for my husband's PC.
Once upon a time, I printed out a record of all the PageMaker, PageMill, and Type purchases, but it's in that mysterious missing "Adobe" folder - the hanging file labeled "Adobe" is empty.
I've entered help desk tickets, but the "resolved" my problem without resolving my problem and haven't responded to my "reopened" ticket.
Now, today, InDesign won't even open at all, even to the registration screen. I do not know what to do.
What can I do?  I'm still on Tiger, if that matters at all.
Anyone know. I really need to get into InDesign. Would love to upgrade to CS4, but just cannot afford it right now.
    HELP!

I guess I didn't read well enough. I really appreciate your help. I did bookmark that page, and THIS TIME I will READ it!
In the middle of cleaning out my Gmail inbox (which was why I didn't respond immediately - way too much "marketing mail" in there). My mind's too muddled right now to make much sense of "techy" stuff, and I'm on a different computer. But I promise, I will give the situation more attention. About the same time that happened, other weird stuff started happening. Haven't pinpointed it. Am on a Mac - guess I felt "too safe".
    Thanks again,
    Karen

  • PC crash... getinng back an InDesign CS6 version, which was an upgrade from a CS3 product... looks like the serial number I have is for the initial CS3

I had InDesign CS3... which I upgraded in 2012 to CS6... two days ago my PC crashed... and I need to reload InDesign... I downloaded from Adobe.com InDesign CS6... but when entering my serial number, I got a message saying that my serial n° is valid but that there is no eligible product on my PC... I suspect that my serial n° is related to the initial C3 version I had bought... I guess that I could download CS3 from Adobe.com... and use my serial number... but how I do get back my CS6 upgrade? Thanks a million for any hlep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    OK, here is the situation:
    * I am an Adobe customer
    * I bought in 2008 CSInDesign CS3 and I have the serial n° [removed by moderator] in my Adobe account (shows as Adobe InDesign, version = CS3, platform = Win)
    * In 2012, I upgraded my CS3 to CS6 and I have a serial n° [removed by moderator] for that in my Adobe account (shows as Adobe InDesign, version = 8.0, platform = Win)
After my PC crash, I downloaded InDesign CS6 and use my serial n° of 2012. It doesn't work, as it says my product is not eligible.
So, here is where I stand now...
    * I downloaded CS3 and used my serial n° for InDesign CS3. It works. I now have CS3 on my PC
    * How do I get back my 'upgrade from CS3 to CS6?
    * I have the serial number for that upgrage and I guess I need to download an "upgrade" file somewhere from Adobe. But I cannot find it, I found pages with upgrades, but there are so many different files, I do not have a clue which one to use;
This is now my key question... can someone give me the link to access the file(s) I have to download to upgrade my InDesign CS3 version to InDesign CS6

  • Need to reinstall inDesign software on a new computer, and I can't find my serial number. Help?

I bought Adobe inDesign, and I installed it on my home laptop and work computer. I recently got an upgraded work computer, so I uninstalled the software off of the old computer so I can install on the new one. I seem to have misplace my packaging, so I don't have the serial number. What can I do?

If your software is registered you can find the serial number at Adobe.com.  You can find more details at http://forums.adobe.com/message/3987968#3987968?promoid=KBHJW.

  • Indesign suddenly asking for serial number and rejecting the one I have

    Hi,
This question is very similar to that of act_writ from 19/10/2014 ("Sudden trouble opening InDesign - serial number rejected")
    - I am asking again because that question was not answered.
We have InDesign CS6 on a Mac, purchased last year with a student license. It always worked and opened the program without asking for a login. All of a sudden yesterday it asked for a login and the serial number, but it rejects the serial number I have received when purchasing the product.
I am still a student so it should not have expired.
Any help would be appreciated - I am pretty desperate as the customer support agent I contacted could not help me.
    Thanks!

A serial should be ok if it was ok.
Exceptions are: If the serial was used several times in a way which is causing doubts of its legal use, then will Adobe deactivate it (e.g. use of several serial in connection with illegal copies) or when Adobe shuts down the activation server as it was done with CS2, but the user could replace it with a common serial.
Normal, with a running program it will never ask for a serial, only if the user clean up his computer and delete some folder and files where activation files are hidden. But in that case the serial should be inserted with the next start or in the wort scenario you might uninstall all programs and install them again to be able to enter the serial.
For non English (including UK and US and International) versions users the serial can also fail when the localisation files are deleted.
Maybe that you exchange the serial with some other number or a number from another product which was bundled?

Charles5391b if our website is stating that the serial number is invalid then please try a different web browser.  If you continue to experience the same difficulties then it is possible that your serial number is truely invalid.  You can contact our support team and have them check your serial number as well.  You can reach our chat support at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6.

  • Adobe InDesign CS6 serial number invalid

I am installing Adobe InDesign CS6 and I am getting a serial number invald message for number - <Removed by Moderator>.  This is for order 14558604 purchased from Insight our third party software provider.

    Hi Jeff:
Why doesn’t Adobe have a protected site for this type of support.  How am I supposed to know that this is a public forum.  Adobe needs to provide a better support system.  I am just trying to get the software running for my users.
Have a good day - Dave

  • I have a valid serial number for adobe indesign cs6

    I get the follwing message
    Adobe InDesign CS
    Sign In Required
You cannot use Adobe InDesign CS6 [English (North America)] without signing in with your Adobe ID to register.
Your Adobe ID provides you an easy way to access your serial numbers, as well as Adobe Creative Cloud and the Adobe.com community.

    Hi jfrantz1256,
When prompted are you able to sign in with your Adobe ID to register?
Do you get any error while signing in?
Even though you enter the serial number, you have to sign in using the Adobe ID to register the software.

  • Trying to find the serial number for my InDesign

    Greetings all,
I work in the art department of a printing company that has 11 artist on Macs using Adobe software. I'm currently reformatting some of the Macs we use to clear off old software. My problem is that I need to reinstall the same InDesign back onto the respective Mac, I have 11 copies of InDesign, and I'm not sure which one is on a particular Mac. As you can probably infer the organization of our software up to this point is not exactly well thought out.
So, long story short, how do I locate the serial number for InDesign on the Mac? I know it used to show you a partial serial number in the opening splash page, and in Illustrator you can find it in the system info panel under the help menu. But, I just can't find it in InDesign.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It's the first 20...
He's probably using CS3 which doesn't have an easy way to find out.
