Serial number is invalid - but it worked for a while !?!

I have just purchased a new computer. I have downloaded the install for cs 5.5 masters collection. It was running for about 1 month, but now I get the message, that the Serial Numer is invalid. What is going on here???
I have the product not yet registered. If it is because, where exactly do I have to do that?

Registration is always a good idea, but failure to do it does not disable any Adobe applications.  See if the following helps for the serial number problem...

I try to use it today, but a dialogue box shows up telling me to enter my name, organization, and my serial number. I put in my name, leave the organization blank, and enter the serial number.     Any changes that may have happened to my computer (ie I installed Leopard when it was released) hadn't effected FCE because I used it within the last week.

    I understand you have done all necessary troubleshooting steps that should have enabled you to send messages to iPhone users without them having to disable iMessage. Have you tried contacting Apple Support regarding the inability to send a text message to iPhone users? Apple can be reached at (800) 275-2273.
    In addition, do you get a certain error message when your WiFi stops working? Have you verifed that Auto Switch network is disabled? To disable this setting simply to go Settings > Wi-Fi > Tap the Menu Key(to the left of the home button) > Select Advanced and it is called `Auto network switch.     Hi Rich,
    The cause of this can be multiple. First of all be sure you use the original CD + serial. In case of a download same story. Try to find out if the installed version match the language of the serial (they need to match). Last but not least: Check if you use a upgrade version, if so it might be needed to fill 2 serials.
    Can you share a screen of the error (please hide the SN )

    What type of license is the key for: individual, student/teacher, government, team, enterprise, promotional, bundled, what?
    Where did you get the software installer from, a link in your purchases area or a download elsewhere on Adobe's site or from ProDesignTools?  
    Is there anything that was done out of the ordinary, originally, to get your software to work?
    In other words might the key be for a different type of license than the installer you're trying to use.

    Just user to user....based on past and current history, Adobe Tech Support is not going to help you with a technical issue which is preventing you from using your purchased serial number for Photoshop Elements. Version 12 is not the current version. And, the Adobe Tech Support is limited even for the current version which is 13. If this matter involves a purchased activated serial number trapped on a crashed computer while you are trying to install on a 3rd computer, then probably Adobe Chat Activation can be of assistance. If that is the case and you want to explore that possibility, then click on the following link

    Hi,
    I purchased Adobe CS4 Creative Suite Design Standard. Upon installing the four programs it contains (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat Pro) I keyed in the serial number and InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop worked fine, but Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 kept showing a red 'X' at the end of the serial key input, saying my "serial number was invalid".
    1. Incorrect tech support advice #1:  Adobe tech told me to de-install and re-install from Adobe purchase e-mail link only instead of from trial versions. I did this, and then none of the programs worked or accepted the serial number. I went back to trial versions, and again 3 out of the 4 programs took the serial number - all EXCEPT Acrobat.
    2. Incorrect tech support advice #2:  Opened a case # online and waited a week for some kind of help, but once again got on the phone. This time I was told that the key was to select "Universal English" as the main option. Again I de-installed Acrobat and re-installed.  There were no options for "universal English" ( you have to choose between English, Francais and Deutsch). Only when I got to the End User License Agreement was there an option to choose "English (International)". So I did as advised. Once again I entered my serial number and got a big red 'X'.  I'm at the end of my Adobe rope.....
    Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue?

    oh man, i think i am having a bigger problem now. I tried to uninstall the whole CS4 suite and was prompt to enter my serial key, to my horror, the big red cross appears. Making my serial key invalid for the whole suite. What is going on man. I think this really screw up my system, i am using vista 64. I am going to reformat my computer and try to reinstall, but i did not deactivate. Will this cause my just bought CS4 useless???? I am starting to get worried.

  • Old school with CS2.  Haven't used in a while and am unable to use the program as it says my serial number is invalid. Customer service tells me the server for CS2 has been shut down.  Then they sent me here for help.  Does anyone have any advice?

    I don't have a clue what I am doing with this.  Here is my discussion with Customer Service:

    CS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back.  So probably won't run on modern operating systems.  If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.

    You are allowed to have two activated installations.  If you happened to have one on this Windows 8 machine before, it is possible that the activation used for it was never deactivated (did you deactivate it before you upgraded Windows?).  Talk to Adobe support thru chat.  They might be able to resolve this with you:

    If you had it on a laptop that crashed and you threw away, it is still considered as activated on that machine.  YOu should contact Adobe by chat or by phone and have them deactivate for you.

    Check that the serial you are using is the correct one..
    Typically the problem is either you are misreading the serial and therefore typing it in wrong. Check you are correctly entering zeros or O.. and so on....
    or...
    You bought the LP9 upgrade version.... which requires the LP8 full serial as well.
    If it is the LP9 upgrade serial.. (and not the LP9 full serial) you must enter your original LP8 full serial first and then the upgrade serial for LP9.. when it asks for it.
    Failing that.. you can obtain a replacement serial from Apple.. using this form.....

    did you have old ps2 files on your computer?  if so, cleaning everything out may help resolve that problem.
