Do you have ADMIN privileges?
I'd suggest manually enter the serial number. Or if you cut and paste, be very sure there is no leading or trailing space.
Maker sure you're entering a serial number for the correct version (LR4 serial for LR5 will not fly).

    Check the sleeve the CD/DVD came in for the SN, I never had a problem. When I purchased the LR3 upgrade from LR2 I chose a hard copy not a download. On the CD sleeve was the SN, and after installing and opening for the first time LR3 prompted for the new SN (not the same as the LR2 SN). As I recall, this was the process. Install, open, enter the SN. This resulted in 2 versions of LR available to me; LR2 and LR3. I found the process painless and fast. Subsequently I downloaded updates to  LR3.

    - I am asking again because that question was not answered.
    We have InDesign CS6 on a Mac, purchased last year with a student license. It always worked and opened the program without asking for a login. All of a sudden yesterday it asked for a login and the serial number, but it rejects the serial number I have received when purchasing the product.
    I am still a student so it should not have expired.
    Any help would be appreciated - I am pretty desperate as the customer support agent I contacted could not help me.

    A serial should be ok if it was ok.
    Exceptions are: If the serial was used several times in a way which is causing doubts of its legal use, then will Adobe deactivate it (e.g. use of several serial in connection with illegal copies) or when Adobe shuts down the activation server as it was done with CS2, but the user could replace it with a common serial.
    Normal, with a running program it will never ask for a serial, only if the user clean up his computer and delete some folder and files where activation files are hidden. But in that case the serial should be inserted with the next start or in the wort scenario you might uninstall all programs and install them again to be able to enter the serial.
    For non English (including UK and US and International) versions users the serial can also fail when the localisation files are deleted.
    Maybe that you exchange the serial with some other number or a number from another product which was bundled?

    Trial ran out this week so I took my laptop to university
    tech support, where I had the entire CS3 suite loaded.
    All works beautifully -- except Flash. I keep getting the
    window about my trial being expired. When I enter the university
    issued serial number, it's rejected. Even the tech support people
    are stumped.
    Has anyone else had this problem? What's the solution??

    Please bring the machine online. On the Sign-In screen choose to sign in now using the Adobe ID or try you can Serialize it using your Serial number. Acrobat will launch successfully.

    I have Photoshop Elements 7. My old computer died and my new computer doesn't have a CD drive, so I transferred and installed Photoshop Elements 7 from a flash. It let me use the program (perfectly) on a trial basis for 30 days since I couldn't find the serial number. I found my serial number, plugged it in and it was rejected (serially rejected, actually). So I logged into my adobe account, downloaded Photoshop Elements 7 again in hopes that it would magically recognise the serial number, figuring that somehow my original install had been corrupted somehow.     I suspect that you are not going to get any support from Adobe on this since you are not using the latest version which is Premiere Elements 13.

    cause of the situation.
    My first question would be "If the installation is accepting the serial number, where are you when you get the message about the Invalid Serial Number?
    Without going into specifics and do not post serial numbers, did you purchase the product from Adobe direct or an authorized retailer or a private seller?
    Are you working with a regular version or one of those Student Teacher versions? On what computer operating system are you trying to run Premiere Elements 13?

  • Creative Suite 2--invalid serial number message on Vista

    I just got a new computer with Vista (64bit). I successfully installed Creative Suite 2--it accepted my serial number initially--but now when I go to open any of the programs, I get the prompt for name, company, and serial number. Each time, my serial number is rejected as invalid. (I've checked many times, and I'm positive I'm entering the correct serial number.)
    I'm fine with purchasing the upgrade to 4, but I'm concerned that I'll buy it and it won't work. I assumed I would need to install 2 on my machine before I could upgrade, which is why I did it--even though I've read about problems running 2 on Vista.
    Should I go ahead and get the Creative Suite 4 upgrade--and troubleshoot at that point if I have problems? I'm just worried about losing all that money if it doesn't work!

    The above references XP64 but also applies to Vista 64.
    But you do not have to have CS2 installed to upgrade to CS4. Just have the disks and serial number handy. If you do upgrade make sure you install in the default location.
