Serial number location on iPhone
Can anyone please tell me where the iPhone serial number is located.
But in saying that the real problem I have is that my son has deleted my contacts book from my iPhone. How can I get it back again!???!

Do you want your Mac's serial number? What model Mac? Click on the Apple in the top menu & select About This Mac. Then select More Info. The Serial number should be in the window that opens.

Unfortunately no. Due to privacy issues Apple does not trace devices (if it could) based on serial numbers. That's why Apple provided the Find My iPhone service to help find lost devices. But in your case, a dead battery defeats the service. All you can do is contact your carrier to ask that it block your service and inform the police. Do you have insurance for the iPhone?

Yes, it tells them the legitimacy of the phone. the serial number is tied to the purchase of the phone and verifies date purchased and more importantly if it's still under warranty. There is no personal information given about the phone serial.
This is just the buyer being cautious of the purchase and if it is a legitimate sale, it won't matter if they have it or not. -
A few days ago my iphone stopped charging and now it wont turn on at all. Ive taken it into Verizon and they told me that the charging port is corroded. Unless you can locate it via Find My iPhone on another iOS device or http://icloud.com then you won't be able to try and find it and or lock/remotely wipe it - it can't be done via the serial number nor IMEI number. With iOS 7 it should be harder to remove from your account.
If the phone was registered to your account then you should be able to get the serial number from your support profile : https://supportprofile.apple.com/

You've contacted your carrier ? You should also change your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc. -

Sorry, no. The only way to locate any iPhone is by using Find My Phone or a similar app. Apple does not trace or locate phones.

I was reading on the internet that Apple just made an iPhone 5 battery replacement program and that I need to provide the serial number to see if my iPhone cualify for the replacement. So i went to the support page where i found the link to the replacement program and just need to put my iPhone serial number and see if it cualify something that i was sure it will because the one that were affected are the one that where bought between septermber 2012 (the month i bought it) and january 2013. When i click submit i got a message that says .
When i saw that "I already replaced the battery" I log in to my account on the support page and I didn't found my actual and only iPhone 5 i have registered in my products, BUT i have another iPhone 5 case open and 3 services to that iPhone 5 i don't know and its not mine. That iPhone have another very different serial number and when i check the services they have done are from an Apple Store in California and I from Puerto Rico.

Thanks in advance.It's possible that if they serviced your phone before, they replaced the entire unit making you ineligible for the battery replacement. Have you had your iPhone replaced thought Applecare recently?

How to find the serial number of your Apple hardware product
A serial number will not get you out of recovery mode. Try this:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
* If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:

It sounds like you need to disable your iPhone remotely. I'm sorry to hear about your phone! The only way to do this with is Apple services is if you had Find my iPhone enabled. You have 2 options:
You can use this article to put the phone into Lost Mode and preserve your data on it, but prevent access to it:
