How can I display the last four digits of a credit card number with x or asterix masking the other digits?
I.E.

"Serial Number" and "Sales Order Number" back in System Profiler

After a logic board replacement, my Serial Number didn't show anymore in "About This Mac" and in System Profiler.
I know this is normal and nothing to worry about, but still, I would like it to show like before.

Thanks Mikey-San for naming those strange terms.
I could then make a Google search and find a solution!!!
Easy:
I just have to use a "Set Serial Number" bootable CD...
... as soon as I find it back from where I've put mine aside...
Oh well, if there is no other solution, as it very much looks like, at least next time my iMac goes to Apple for repairs I know exactly what to ask and I'm sure it is feasible.

Need to query the database to get the last sequence number

I am trying to get the last sequence number of the last row inserted into my Oracle database. Please could someone give me the SQL which would allow me to do this - using Oracle SQL Explorer I have confirmed that there is a sequence on the table which is called: XYZ_SEQ and the code for this is:
CREATE SEQUENCE "MY_USER_NAME"."XYZ_SEQ" MINVALUE 1 MAXVALUE 999999999999999999999999999 INCREMENT BY 1 START WITH 21 CACHE 20 NOORDER NOCYCLE ;
My Java application is inserting a row into my table and to insert a new row I need to have the last sequence inserted +1 so the new row can be added.
Any help would be much appreciated.

If you are using a sequence just do (example):
INSERT INTO TABLE_NAME
   (COL1,
    COL2)
VALUES
   (SEQUENCE_NAME.NEXTVAL,
    OTHER_VALUE);to obtain (and use) the next number in the sequence when you are inserting.
If you have a sequence to use for a specific table, you should use it when your insert new data (no matter your are doing that: java application, procedure, etc). Doing this you avoid some problems when you have the sequence 'out of date' about the associated data.

Missing orders in Number Range

Hi Friends,
We are facing an issue in our production systems where once in a while we find some orders missing in the number range provided. We have a custom report which tells us whenever a particular number on a sales document number range is skipped. Usually when this report identifies a missing order we will be able to find some error information from ST22 or SM13 logs and from that we identify the user who was trying to create this order and we contact them to re-enter the order. In most cases they are unaware that there has been an error since they get a success message when they save orders. But in some cases no information is available in these transactions and we are unable to identify who was creating this missing order and Business team fears that we are missing some legitimate orders which the customer thinks was created. I read thorugh lot of messages in the SDN forums and lot of similar issues were due to number range buffering but we do not have number range buffering set in our systems for sales documents. Have any of you faced this issue before and do you have a suggestion to prevent this?

Hi Praveen,
I remember that the module pool drwas a numer from the number range before the order is actually saved. If the creation process is cancelled, the number has been used.
You could try to check that by setting a break-point at function module NUMBER_GET_NEXT and then manually create an order, play around with the different tabs and views, create and delete items and check when the number is drawn.
If it is drawn as it should be in update task, you may find update fails in the update monitor and the users responsible should have received an express mail.

Error in allocating Despatch serial number Interval not found Number object

Hi All,
While saving the Excise Invoice(created w.r.to Invoice) in J1IIN system is throwing the error:
"Error in allocating Despatch serial number Interval not found Number object J_1IINTPR2
Message no. 8I336"
The Excise Group(say 99) was created.
But the same is not reflecting in the drop down list of SNUM for maintaining the No.Range in the Object J_1IINTPR2.
Do the needful to resolve this issue.

IMG>Logistics general>Tax on Goods movements>India>Basic settings-->Maintain Excise groups
Have you check all these check boxes
1.Excise Inv during billing
2.Create and Post Invsingle step
3,Depot Excise invoice
4.EI capture
5.Diuty Different at GR
6.EI create/RG23D selection
7.Update RG1 at MIGO

Document number missing

Hi All
I have a problem with the document numbers. It is missing. eg. document number 100101 when i check, i can't locate 100101 but i can find 100100 and 100102. How could i locate the document numbers back?
Another issue is my user posted a recurring document eg 200202, I checked it and manage to view the items but I check after a few hours, the system gives me error "Document 200202 does not exist in company code ABC or has been archived". Why is it so? How to trace back the documents?
I have checked SM13, SM12, no logs.

Getting the last active number purchasing info record

Hi,
I was trying to get the last active number of the purchasing info record.
As in the ME21N, while creating a purchase order, once we have entered the material number, the system automatically returns the adequate number of the info recored, but I could't identify (through debug) which was the function module or method call used to get it.

Thanks to all for your answers. I finally figured it out with the help of a functional consultant.
To identify the last active number purchasing info record, we retreive from table EINA, and there, the field LOEKZ should be empty.
Basically, we only have one info record number per couple material/vendor.

ORA-15042: ASM disk "2" is missing from group number "1"

I'm working on an Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production With the Automatic Storage Management option.
Into the ASM I had 3 diskgroups:
- ARCHIVELOG (4 disks)
- ONLINELOG (1 disks)
- DATA (10 disks)
When I try to startup the ASM instance I got:
A-15042: ASM disk "2" is missing from group number "1"The diskgroup won't be mounted.
I would like to remove that disk and later add a new one.
I can I do that?
I'm not able to mount the ARCHIVELOG diskgroup.
I tried the command
SQL> alter diskgroup archivelog drop disk ARCH3 force;
alter diskgroup archivelog drop disk ARCH3 force
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-15032: not all alterations performed
ORA-15001: diskgroup "ARCHIVELOG" does not exist or is not mountedThanks in advance,

As that database is on AWS, I tried this:
- drop diskgroup archivelog
- detach of those 4 disks
- create new 4 disks
- attach new disks
- assign those disks to ASM with oracleasm utilty
- create diskgroup archivelog
It worked.
But because I was on AWS and more because it was the ARCHIVELOG diskgroup.
What would I had to do if it was the DATA diskgroup?

I am facing one error when creating excise invoice.
system shows the following error.
Error in allocating Despatch serial number Interval not found Number object J_1IINTPR2
For this, i tried to maintain number range in j1i9 object J_1IINTPR2.
Here system is not showing excise group number.
But for one company code it shows and another company code excise group code is not displayed.
Can anyone tell me what will be the problem?

excise group 10 belongs to first plant
excise group 20 belongs to second plant.
settings are maintained same for the two excise group.
excise group 10 is displayed in J1I9 (Number object J_1IINTPR2).
But excise group 20 is not displayed over there. I want to maintain number range for excise group 20.
