Serial number not accepted - Aperture keeps asking me to buy or authorize

I've had Aperture installed and working well on a Macbook Pro since January 09 and today it seems to have reverted to a trial version and says my trial has expired. I've tried to re-enter the serial number but no success, indeed the trial shows the serial number.
I've deleted this version and tried reinstalling Aperture from scratch and I have the same result it keeps asking me to buy or authorize but won't acknowledge the serial number.
If I put in the wrong serial number it tells me it isn't the correct serial number and I'm cutting and pasting the serial number so I know it is correct.
I read on another post about going to library/application support/pro apps to find the serial number and delete it and then try again, but I don't have a pro apps folder and can't find the serial number.
I'd welcome any help or suggestions on next steps

Look for the library/application support/ProApps folder in either:
1) Your home directory—in the Macintosh hard drive
2) Your user directory—in your Home folder
You must have this folder.
Then find the file called Aperture System ID, and drag it to the trash.
Then try running Aperture again, and re-insert the serial #.

  • CS2 Premium serial number not accepted at use on Win 7 system

    I have at several years old version of the Creative Suite 2 Premium. It has been licensed on a Win XP system previously, but now I try to install it on my new Win 7 computer.
    But the "Personalize your software" - window will not accept the serial number that I can read on the product casette from the label named "SERIAL NUMBER CREATIVE SUITE PREM".
    Am pretty sure that it is entered correctly, and in fact the same serial number is accepted during installatin.
    Please advise....

    The request for the serial number comes when I start up InDesign, I have not tried the other programs.

  • Moved to new Macbook Pro; Aperture 3 Upgrade Serial Number not Accepted

    I have just moved to a new MacBook Pro. I migrated Aperture 3 from my Macbook. This was originally an upgrade from Aperture 2.
    When opening Aperture 3 on the MacBook Pro I am asked for the serial number. I enter the upgrade serial number which is rejected.
    I am really struggling to find the Aperture 2 box and don't know whether that serial number would be the solution.
    Has anyone else come across this issue and know how it is resolved?
    Assume I will not be able to find the Aperture 2 box. Can Apple help given that I will have previously registered Aperture 2 and 3 in the past? I really don't want to have to splash out on another couple of hundred quid for a lost box.
    Please help.

    Yes, assuming that you legally purchased the original version of Aperture from Apple, they will have the serial number on file. When you call they can provide you with the original serial number.

  • Elements 13 serial number not accepted

    Purchased, downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements 13 on Mac.
    After installation it asks for serial number. It will not accept the serial number from the purchase email.
    I verified it was the same serial number as on the accounts page.
    I checked it multiple times, had someone else check it, then printed out the email and entered one number at a time checking each one off just to make sure I got it right and I still cant get it to accept the serial number.

  • Soundtrack V1.5: serial number not accepted

    Hello,
    I have bought soundtrack with Final Cut Express HD. Last year I changed to a new iMac, and now Soundtrack will not accept the serial number. Final Cut Express (v4.0.1) still works, and even deleting /Library/Application Support/ProApps/Final Cut Express System ID and re-entering the serial number did not help.
    Since I have been using FCE since version 1 I use upgrade serial numbers and the first ones.
    Any suggestions?

    A few years back I encountered an SN acceptance issue with STpro. I called Tech Support and asked if a zero "0" in the number could be the letter "O", they said emphatically no. To amuse myself I tried the SN using the letter "O". It worked.

    I downloaded photoshop cs6 after paying for it as an upgrade from photoshop cs3. During the installation it asked me for the serial number for cs4 or cs5 but not cs3. It would not accept the serial number of my cs3. A look at other forums suggests the only way round this is to hack in as if I was doing an illegal download. When I installed on this computer, the help Desk took over my computer and had a lot of trouble overriding the problem. I now have a new computer and am having the same problem in trasferring cs6 to the new computer. Unfortunately I have deactivated cs6 on this computer and at present cannot use it at all.

    Hello everybody,
    I just wanted to install Photoshop CS5 on my Windows 8.1 64bit machine, which also happenes to be a new machine. The serial number provided in my Adobe account is not accepted by the installer! The information I could gather from the "support" area points me to a problem which is caused by not properly uninstalling the previous install, am I right? I did not know this. Also, I am no native speaker and feel a little lost on this.
    Please help, I need to use my copy of PS CS5, thanks!

    We have installed Creative Suite 4 Design Standard on a Windows 7 computer and all programs are running fine but prompting to activate. We have confirmed with LWS and Adobe support that we have the correct serial number but when entering it at the licensing prompt, it is not being accepted.

    I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and want to install my "old" CS4 Creative Suite Design Standard on it.
    I found a page on the Adobe that enables to download CS4 software. They are all here except the Creative Suite Design Standard.
    I picked the Illustrator one thinking that I would pick Photoshop and In Design afterwards.
    It went well until I had to key in the Serial Number.
    It was not accepted. Said:
    Error "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Creative Suite

    Ok, try to get help from Apple. But, every time I put the serial number into the Webform I get the answer: Serialnumber not

    - No, its not a typo ( copy & paste )
    - No, I didn't mess up with 0(Zero) and O(Character)
    - I double checked the serial number from the operating system with the number on the box. They are equal.
    Is there a mail address around I can contact?
    Or a phone number?
    I do not want to put my serial number into a public forum, but it starts with C07, 9 characters following.
