Serial number of material/Equipment

Hello Everbody,
I have a material number,plant and storage location...where can I find the serial number/s of material..
I have checked the table EQUI and it does not helps me.
Any inputs would be appreciated.

check table MARC and field name is SERNP.
MARC-SERNP.
key in plant and material in this table to fetch the Serial number profile of the material.

SWAP Equipment using IE4N, without serial number and material, it is possible?

Hi PM Experts, I´ve been reading about the way to SWAP equipments from his functional location without using serial number and material, I think if it is not possible, but to be honest, I cannot find any logical answer for it, since equipment number is unique for a plant. Does anyone have found any work around for it?.
I don’t want to use serial numbers and materials, because I think the process is really simple, since the client does not want to implement the refurbishment process. If there is a break down, here is what I do:
Case 1:
Dismantle damage equipment (Say PM01 Order Type)
Install new equipment (same PM order)
TECO the actual PM order
...Later
Case 2:
Create a new PM orden (say PM01 Order Type)
Repair the break equipment
TECO this new PM Order
Here are the inconsistencies:
What happen with the MTTR and MTBR reports?
In case one, I´ll create the material as equipment, while I´m installing, starting date for his master data is the installation day, and the MTTR and MTBR will start to run. This is ok.
What happened in case 2?, I need to stop the “clock” for the MTTR and MTBR of the dismantle equipment.
This is the reason why, I would like to use IE4N, but since there are no serial number and material, I cannot.
Can anyone please suggest a workaround for this scenario?.
I´m thinking in use INAC (Object Deactivated) system status, can this status help me?, Does this status “stops” the clock for MTTR and MTBR report?. If I change the status to ACT, I´ll get the clock back running?.
How about dismantle the equipment?, It will get the AVLB Available status, but the problem is, this equipment will be “floating” in the whole PM structure and I do not want it. I want to have it in a specific Functional Location but with this status, is this possible?. I woul like to use IE4N to SWAP UTs and later change the status to AVLB Available status, with and exits.
I thinking in an Equipment Status and a “Z” MTTR and MTBR report, based on this status. But to be honest, I´d like a standard solution for it.

For find my iPhone to work, the device has to be powered on and it has to be connected to a network (Cellular or WiFi). Find My iPhone uses your AppleID as the account to search for. Maybe the "guys" you were talking to were referring to a 3rd party application that essentially lo-jacks your device. But even then, it would still require Power and a network.
I don't believe that there is currently a way to flag a specific serial number for location.

Auto GR of Serial number assign material

Dear All,
I have assign serial number to the inhouse produce material. And as per client requirement of automatic GR for same material, am doing auto goods movement at the time of confirmation.
So for serial number assignment material system giving error for serial number obligatory material this movement is not possible.
Is there any other method for serial number assign material to do auto GR. Plz revert its urgent.

we tried to do Auto Gr with serial number for FG iIn my company but can't do. Finally we convinced our users to do manually.This is SAP standard that Auto GR is not possible for the material maintain with Serial Number
So you must convince your clients for the same

Serial Number for material document number

Hi All,
Can any body tel me where Serial number stores for particular Material Document number.
When user creation/posting MB11 he will enter serial numbers for material in material document.
I already searched the forum. Unluckily i didn't received any related information.

I Tried looking standard table which contain Material number, Serial number, Equipment and Material Document but there isn't any.
So I went into SQVI and join two tables, MSEG and OBJK. There I manually draged the MATNR from MSEG Table to OBJK and then selected the fields like Materials Number, Plant, Material Document, Mov Type etc and from other table I selected Material Number plus Serial Number, Equipment (chose your required filters) and then executed and it shows the required records correctly.
Only issue it had was that if you try thousands of records e.g. Materials it went though and brought resukts and some time it dumped. But it fulfilled my needs successfully.

Avalibale serial number of material

We ahve one problem for our finishh product we are maintaining serial number but while issue of material when we are selecting the serial number when we click on select the serial number it is showing the app. 1000 srial number even the stock qty. is only 30 , now how to remove all the old serial number
Material : 4110 avalibale stock :30 it should show only 30 serial number when we are selecting the serial number.
Also one more requirement is whenver there is a goods issue movement like 201,311,309,601 etc. system should not allow user to create serial number automatically it should select the serial number from the avalibale serial number only.

Serial number for material lying in Inventory

Hi Experts
Here the requirement is to add serial numbers for materials in SAP.I am having serial number seperately in legasy system.I need to activate in SAP for that Material.That i can do it by adding serial number profile in Material Master.
But how can asign serial numbers for the material already Lying in Inventory in
our plant.
I tried mb1b- 311 to another storage location its asking serial numbers and i m able to give there.But Is there any data migration work so that i can add serial numbers to the material lying in stock.
Help needed

One option could be to make the stock zero by issuing the stock out completely to scrap (or cost center or...). Then activate serial numbers. Then do an initial upload of the stock.

Material serial number creation

I have a scenario in setting up serial number for material. I am presently working on data migration from legacy system to SAP. Materials in legacy system has serial numbers assigned to it. I am migrating service contracts with service materials which should have equipments details in the technical objects details
i wanted to know how to create serial no.s for the saleable materials in the contract with status ECUS ( equipment at customer).
When i create serials numbers the material is in stock under a plant. But this should not be the case since the equipment is already at the customer .
Please suggest a suitable solution for doing the same.

This will allow you to move the status on depending on the status that your currently at.

Serial number status of semi finished material.

Hi Gurus,
I have a serialized finished product.
I have a serialized semi finished material as a component of that finished product.
After issuing the semifinished to the production order of the finished product, the serial number status of the semifinished item becomes AVL.
I dont want the semifinished serial number to be reused once it is issued to a production order and the finished material from that production order is delivered .
Help me in acheiving this.

Hi Gowri Shankar,
You should maintain a User Status Profile for the Serial Number Profile, (Through Equipment Category).
Once the Semi finished Material with a particular Serial Number is Issued for a production order. The status should change to Say " Used". Then this Serial Number cannot be assigned again to a new Semifinished Goods.
User Status profile should be defined in transaction BS02.

I am able to generate the serial number numerically material wise using IQ01 t code. But my client requirement is alphanumeric serial numbers. Is it possible in standard SAP. Serial numbers can be auto generated or created manually; the length of single number is limited to 18
characters. SAP supports both numeric and alphanumeric serial numbers. Serial number master record
can be created directly prior to business transaction, this would appropriate to have serial numbers already
in system so these can be assigned during business process. Serial numbers can be created individually
(IQ01) or several at the time (IQ04), depending on transaction chosen.
Serial number masters contents following information
->Status information: System status of gives idea about current status and availability of serial
number. User status also used for precise control over serial number movement.
-> Stock information: This shows the plant and storage location of material, also the stock type of
material like unrestricted, quality or blocked stock.
-> Serial number history: The history tells about the past business process with serial number.
Serial numbers are also categorized on broader level like Machine, Customer equipment etc. These categories mainly serve the reporting purpose.
Maintain all the mandatory information and the issue should be solved

Deleting equipment serial number in mmbe

Dear Friends,
I am new to SAP,
In mmbe while drill down to the equipment serial no ,it is showing unwanted equipment serial numbers.
how can i delete the unwanted eqipment numbers. can i use IQ02 or any other way to do?

You need to find equipment records for serial numbers and remove from inventory. E.g. Scrape it or do inventory adjustment.
1. in MMBE --> Right click on quantity --> Equipment serial number
2. Keep list of all serial number with material number
3. Open another session to scrape material with serial numbers (MIGO) or perform inventory adjustment (MI10)

I donot think Serial numbers are created without equipment number.
As every serial number is assigned to a equipment category. Once you assign the Serial number to an equipment category, the equipment number gets cretaed in the Background based on the number range, so you cannot stop the creation of equipemnt number.

Serial number in Equipment BOM component

Hi Experts,
Can we attach a serial number for a component in the Equipment BOM?
My requirement is we sell an equipment with components to customers. Each component has got a serial number when it has gor produced (at the time of GR to FG store), when we issue we refer to the serial number and issue it to customer. Later all components are assembled at customer place. After job is completed we generate a serial number intern an equipment master is created. Now I create the equipment BOM with all those components. Here for the tracking purpose, can I maintain those components serial number in the equipment BOM????

Hi,
You can do the hirerchay by using Ibase. I am not sure we can assign serial numbers in the BOM. Or alternate is to create subequipments with all those serial number and Material number combination. And here you can pass on warranty too. Which I think you can not achieve in IBase. Even I base can be generated with reference to production order.
