Serial number of old versions not valid (PS Elements)?

I purhased PS Elements 4.0 many years ago but haven't used it for years. It will not run on my newer mac, so i downloaded PSE12 trial version. I typed my serial number to register but it was invalid. Is my old purchase of no value? Do I have to buy a full prize PSE now? (I have removed the PSE(-license) from the old computer)

Adobe acrobat pro 9 keeps telling me "the serial number I entered is not valid"

I recently had my macbook pro logic board fail and had to purchase a new macbook pro (expensive reinvestment after only 3 years but that's another story).
Anyway, all of my cs4 upsell products loaded just fine, except adobe acrobat pro 9 keeps telling me "the serial number I entered is not valid." After contacting adobe thru chat several times, here is the info I got back: my serial number IS valid, I still can activate 3 more times (deactivation was not an issue in this case), the final answer was the cs1 server (my previous version before cs4) is no longer available which basically renders my version of acrobat unusable. Is that really the case? Now that I have a new computer I can't use that software any longer it was working fine on my old laptop? Why did all the other software load okay? Did I miss something or is buying another upgrade neccessary?
ps: using Macbook Pro with MacOS X.8.5

Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver are all working just fine. I haven't needed any other apps yet since the reinstall. Install actually worked fine too for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 but when I try to open anything in it I get the Software Setup Screen and it wants me to enter the serial number for the product, when I do it says the serial number is invalid. I included a screen shot below with the serial number removed so you can see. In chatting with adobe, my rep said it is a valid number (obviously since it worked fine on my other apps), but the server for CS1 is no longer available and since I have an upsell from CS1 they cannot offer me support and to take my question to the forum board, so here I am.

My old PC crashed and died, and I am unable to deactivate the licence of Photoshop Elements 7.
I re-installed Photoshop Elements 7 via a trial download from Adobe website onto my new PC, Windows 8.1 single language.
My serial number is not accepted.

Thank you Benjamin MItchley. I reviewed the chat log and I can confirm that they are correct we do not provide installation support for Photoshop Elements 7 due to the age of the software title. Photoshop Elements 7 also does not support activation so there is no risk that you were unable to deactivate the software on your previous computer.
I am showing the serial number under your account was provided from an equipment manufacturer. It is possible there may have been a customized installer for that version. Have you contacted the computer manufacturer to obtain the installation files for the copy of Photoshop Elements 7 included with your computer?
Since you did not migrate/transfer over any files it is unlikely there is a software issue preventing the installation. You can try running the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure that no corrupt licensing files may be preventing the installation process. CS3 is unsupported under Windows 8. That said, you'll need to contact Adobe
directly for serial number issues.

Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your PAID Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work

Trial download "The serial number you entered is not valid" ?

I have just downloaded the trial version of the new aperture software but when I try to enter the serial number (Copy and pasted from the email) it says the serial number is not valid.
Any ideas? I do not have any previous versions on my macbook as I only recently became a mac user.
I have been sent the same serial number to 2 seperate email addresses so is there another way of getting a different number?

If you already have a licensed copy of Aperture in your Applications folder, you need to move or rename it before installing the Aperture 2 trial.
BUT the apple Website still downloads 1.5.6, which is a free update.
I have the right serial trial number beginning with an "E" et not a "D", but
obviously 1.5.6 does not request it.

Got the serial number and fired up the CD only to have the serial number rejected as not valid. I've had 2 people look at it to make sure I was not entering it wrong. What do I do??

Ok, turns out that I was using wifi and couldn't connect to Adobe via WiFi and once I switched to ethernet, I could connect, but the install script kept barfing on the serial number. I disconnected the USB CDrom drive and remounted, and the install package accepted the serial number the 2 time around. Problem solved, but lame.

Try getting the serial number from another place. You can get it from the box, from the Settings > General > About menu, and from iTunes.
You can click Edit > Copy to copy the serial from here.

After updating my Windows I tried to reinstall Indesign CS3 and Indesign CS4 upgrade after that. CS3 installed just fine but the system doesn`t accept my serial number from the back of the Upgrade box or the sonfirmation e-mail I received from Adobe upon purchase. What can be done?

I just bought an upgrade from Flash Builder 4 Premium (which is installed on my PC) to 4.7. I received the 4.7 serial, but it also needs the 4.0 serial, which I don't seem to be able to find.
Where can I find the 4.0 serial number (I am afraid I bought that copy some time ago on another Adobe ID, so I cannot find it there.).

Aperture3 upgrade -- Why Serial number of Aperture 2 not accepted?

I had Aperture 2.1.4 working regularly, off course with the relative original serial number.
I downloaded the trial Aperture 3 and today I bought the the upgrade.
After installing the upgrade I entered the upgrade serial number and asked me for the original serial number of the aperture2 and when I enter it correctly it sends me an Alert "serial number you entered is not valid". I am sure it is the correct number.

(I am sure put in the correct number)

I would first go to your Adobe Account and make sure that all info in it was correct and then match up all S/N's with your records. If you find any problems, then make corrections.
If all matches, but does not work, contact Adobe and see if they still sell replacement DVD's for CS2. Adobe usually does, for a small price. Still, you will need your correct S/N, so you will probably be back on the phone to Adobe. When I once used them for a S/N problem, they were quick and did a perfect job.
