Serial number rejection

When I bought my G3Mac (OS 8.6) I also bought Photoshop 5.5 upgrade (which included ImageReady). ImageReady however has disappeared from my system for some reason and try as I might to reload it from the original CD, I keep getting an error message which says that this is not a valid Adobe serial number! It's the same number which comes with the slipcover! How do I get around this as I need to work in ImageReady. I would really appreciate a response from a Mac wizard as I am out of my depth when it comes to technical problems.
Many thanks,
Regards,
Norman.

Hi Barbara, Thanks for your reply, sorry for the late response I have been unable to get to my system sooner.

Norman.

  • Serial number rejected after fresh reinstall

    Hi,
I reinstalled my laptop from scratch, then installed Lightroom 5 demo. The setup went through adobe creative cloud tool (was not that way before), I obtained LR 5.5
Then I try to activate it using the serial number I'va had for a while now and it is rejected as not being valid. This is the same SN I used befoore and this is the same I see when I check my account information on Adobe website. I made sure this was not a typo.
    Any clue?
    Thanks
    Bruno

Uninstall the Lightroom version you downloaded for the Creative Cloud which only gets licensed when you subscribe to the payment plan.
Product updates this link will take you to the updates site for all Adobe Products. Download the appropriate Lightroom  5 version i.e 5.5 then your license key should work. If your LR 5 was an upgrade purchase you will also need the key from the earlier version to also input if prompted.

  • Acrobat 7 Serial Number Rejected

    Hello,
We have a copy of Acrobat Professional 7, that up until recently have had no issues with. We recently tried re-installing it on a machine, only to find that the Activation Servers are offline. We were directed to download an "activation-free" version of the product.
After downloading this version and attempting to install it, we found it is rejecting our serial number(s) and are subsequently unable to install it.
Some background information on the products history:
    1. Bought Adobe Acrobat 5.0 - retail
    2. Bought Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard (upgrade) - retail
    3. Bought Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional (upgrade) -  via your online store.
All of the serial numbers from all of the above products were rejected. We have the original packaging and serial numbers to hand if you should require them, along with a receipt for Acrobat 7 Professional from your online store (also containing the serial number).
We would appreciate any help you could give us on the matter to get this installed. Thank-you for your time,
    James Compton.

You are absolutely correct! Thank-you. I double-checked the download page and there is indeed a serial number that I must have missed when I originally looked there.
    Thank-you!

  • Serial Number Rejected

I hope this will be an easy one for the experts. I deactivated CS6 on an old. machine, downloaded the trial fresh, gave my serial number, and it was rejected. I find Adobe customer service overwhelming. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Looking at this again, the download link for cs6 and cs6 extended are one in the same.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro - serial number rejected as invalid

I bought Adobe Acrobat XI Pro at Amazon.
While running a trial version, I installed the product from the CD. It installed the newly purchased product concurrently. While trying to register, Adobe detects the XI Pro installation, but comes back with a message that the serial number is invalid. I checked the number and it is exacly what is printed in the CD sleve. I tried to chat with an agent, but it is impossible. No matter how many hours I wait, nobody picks up my request.

  • NEED HELP! G550 Serial Number rejected when attempting to obtain parts

I have a G550 that I need a speaker/headphone jack to replace the worn out one in the unit.  My problem is that no matter how I enter the serial number and model type, I cannot access the parts lookup. Apparently when this model was made, the folks on the assembly line did not put the complete serial number on the bottom of the unit.  Nor did they put the correct Model/Type there either.  At least not entries that are on the invoice for when we purchased it, nor in the BIOS listing.
I need to obtain this part soon to put this machine back in place.  Here is what I have:
Model/Type on bottom of laptop: 2958-PRC4
    Model/Type on invoice/BIOS: 2958-9PU
Serial Number on bottom of laptop: CB********
    Serial Number on invoice/BIOS: 1S295*****-BU27*****
I can see where the long version of the serial number is merely a congolmeration of the model/type and the serial number on the bottom of the laptop.
What is so frustrating is that I had connected with Lenovo on chat and that was a very displeasing experience with a less-than-splendid person on the Lenovo end.   I contacted Lenovo phone support and apparently got a person who got out of bed on the same side as the chat person did and that was a much less-than-splendid experience.  I am hoping there is someone on this forum or someone from Lenovo who reads this and can help me.!

    norman,
I take it this is a recent purchase, and it was cheap. Be aware that with old technology, you will be limited in both the apps that will still run on it and with the degree of support you'll be able to get from any source.
But as Ramón suggests, you may have been given a bum deal on the software...

  • Sudden trouble opening Indesign - serial number rejected

    Hi there,
This is rather desperate. I turned on my work computer today and went to open InDesign (CS4 on PC) and it wouldn't open like usual, we've had this product and have been using it for some years. It has now prompted me with:
    1. I'd like to use this product as a trial
    2. Enter your serial number
This has never happened before. So, I found our box and entered our serial number and it wouldn't accept it.....???
Really frustrating as I need to use it and am on a  deadline.
Any help would be really great!

Try using System Restore to go back a day or two.

  • Indesign suddenly asking for serial number and rejecting the one I have

    Hi,
This question is very similar to that of act_writ from 19/10/2014 ("Sudden trouble opening InDesign - serial number rejected")
    - I am asking again because that question was not answered.
We have InDesign CS6 on a Mac, purchased last year with a student license. It always worked and opened the program without asking for a login. All of a sudden yesterday it asked for a login and the serial number, but it rejects the serial number I have received when purchasing the product.
I am still a student so it should not have expired.
Any help would be appreciated - I am pretty desperate as the customer support agent I contacted could not help me.
    Thanks!

A serial should be ok if it was ok.
Exceptions are: If the serial was used several times in a way which is causing doubts of its legal use, then will Adobe deactivate it (e.g. use of several serial in connection with illegal copies) or when Adobe shuts down the activation server as it was done with CS2, but the user could replace it with a common serial.
Normal, with a running program it will never ask for a serial, only if the user clean up his computer and delete some folder and files where activation files are hidden. But in that case the serial should be inserted with the next start or in the wort scenario you might uninstall all programs and install them again to be able to enter the serial.
For non English (including UK and US and International) versions users the serial can also fail when the localisation files are deleted.
Maybe that you exchange the serial with some other number or a number from another product which was bundled?

  • Adobe sent me a serial number and it is not valid

I bought an Educational copy of Adobe Pro XI, filled out the form with the product code to receive the serial number. Got the serial number and fired up the CD only to have the serial number rejected as not valid. I've had 2 people look at it to make sure I was not entering it wrong. What do I do??

Ok, turns out that I was using wifi and couldn't connect to Adobe via WiFi and once I switched to ethernet, I could connect, but the install script kept barfing on the serial number. I disconnected the USB CDrom drive and remounted, and the install package accepted the serial number the 2 time around. Problem solved, but lame.

  • Acrobat 8 standard installation program rejects my serial number, says it's "invalid"

I have a genuine product of Acrobat 8 Standard, and when I put the serial number in the installation program, I get rejected. The program says my s.n. is invalid.
    How do I solve this?

Was your AA8 an upgrade? If so, the S/N requested may have been for the prior version, not 8. You have to provide both the old and new S/Ns for an upgrade. For Win7 you will need to do the updates. For Win8, you may have to purchase the new version.
