Serial on MAC OS 10.6.8 does not work

I have installed Acrobat Pro 8 on my mac running 10.6.8. It wont accept the serial number. I called support and they told me to open a discussion and to ask for the "secret patch" to fix this issue. I am in the middle of writing a patent application and can't even begin to tell you how idiotic this is. I own Creative Suite 3 Web Premium. This is a $1,600 software and I have to jump through hoops like this? So how do we fix this? Please advise

Where are you getting Flash from?
Get the appropriate dmg installer here and then run it.

If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot.

Mac Mini + A1038 Cinema Display does not work

Hi,
I have a 2009 model Mac Mini with mini-dvi and mini-display port's on the rear. I can connect any of my DVI based monitors to the mac mini using either the mini-dvi to dvi cable or the mini-displayport to dvi cable. All monitors except for the A1038 model Apple Cinema Display.
The cinema display works with 3 other computers with DVI ports, turns right on and is detected right away. When plugged into the mini it does nothing. Sometimes I can get it to work with the mini-dvi to dvi adapter but that is sporadic.
This is the same behavior with a 2009 model mac book pro and macbook. Using the mini-displayport to dvi cable the cinema display does not work but 3 other monitors do.
So my question is, why does apple hardware only work with non-apple hardware?

Is the A1038 the old, plastic Cinema Display that doesn't have a power cord or power supply? It only has a video cable with the special ADC on it? If that's the case, it needs this to run from a newer Mac:

Mac App Store Apple ID does not work

Try to access the mac app store with my apple ID under OS X 10.6.8
The mac app store still says "your device couldnt get verified"
I have changed my apple ID password several times.
In itunes everything works fine!
I want to upgrade to Lion but the appstore does not work.

I already wasted several hours trying to find solution for a problem which appeared with Lion, search function does not work, in mail at least.
I was not using Leopard before and I am not a mac expert.
(search function was already bad in the normal it was already bad in the normal 10.7 set up but at least it was working in mac mails).
I tried reindexing via spotlight privacy settings (adding and removing HD) but does not work much better.
I don't want to go to terminal, as as mentioned I don't know enough about mac to try this.
What to do?

The Acrobat manager does not accept letter formation while entering the serial number. Where my serial number does contain letters and numbers. How do I enter my verified code ?

Click on a mac appstore link in safari does not work anymore

I'm on OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 using latest versions of Mac App Store, Safari, Iron and Firefox.
In a recent past, in Safari, Iron or Firefox, when I clicked on "view in Mac App Store" link, the Mac App Store app opened.
I clicked by mistake on "No" in a box.
Now, when I click on "view in Mac App Store", nothing happens.
Where in MacOSX or elsewhere in my Yosemite, can I get the setting to open the Mac App Store app from a browser.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Caution: A1081 Cinema (2007) to Mac Mini (2014). Adapter does not work

I bought a new Mac Mini along with the Mini Displayport to DVI adapter (MB570Z/B). Exchanged for the HDMI adapter which does work. (After testing both with the full rig at the Genius Bar.) I suspect that this is a generic problem and not specific to my original adapter. If so, the following is incorrect.

First of all, are you using a Windows Phone (windows phone 7 or 7.5) or a Windows Mobile (6.1, 6.5) phone?
Windows Mobile phones are generally not compatible with macs for USB internet tethering. They do work OK by sharing via Bluetooth or Wifi.

Mac and software issues, Dictation does not work....another update another round of new software.

In other words, Dictation cannot be turned on unless you are in a place where you could be typing on the keyboard and seeing it appear on the screen - in an email, Word document etc. Dictation can only be turned on when you're ready to use it, it doesn't wait in the background.

LR Mobile 5.6 Desktop: Up sync from DL desktop on Mac to Adobe Photo Cloud does not work, down sync from Cloud to DL desktop works

I have successfully used DL Mobile for some months (currently: some 3+k photos in Adobe's Photo Cloud, in 56 collections).
Some two weeks ago sync on DL desktop went erratic, i.e. sync attempts were always active according to the spinning wheel in the UI, but no sync happened. Right now this has changed to a status of no sync indication on Mac DL desktop whatsoever (no spinning wheel). No upward sync of changes from DL Mac to the Adobe Photo Cloud is happening.
BUT: Up-sync to the Adobe Photo Cloud from iPad works: For example, change results can be seen immediately via browser in Adobe's Cloud collection library. AND, strange enough: the changes from iPad via Cloud are synced down to DL desktop on the Mac as well (without any sync indicator visible on DL desktop though).
What can I do to get back to full functioning?

You can trigger the log via LR Desktop preferences -> Lightroom Mobile and when you hold down the alt key you will notice a generate diagnostic log button

According to Apple's documentation, you cannot turn Bluetooth off unless there is a USB device connected.
Do you have a wired keyboard? If so, you could try resetting the PRAM and SMC - although I do not think that would help.

MAC address filter on router does not work for iOS8

The MAC address randomization feature in iOS8 is great for privacy, but this being the case, I am not able to connect to a wi-fi router that employs a MAC address filter. Is there a way to turn off this MAC address randomization?

I had this problem. I followed the directions to replace the netinfo db's. I rebooted, and started going through the initial OS X welcome stuff. When I tried to re-enter my user stuff, I got a "sorry, standard user cannot be added" error, and the machine went to a blue screen.
This is odd, as I have completely restored the system from scratch (reformatted the hard drives, reinstalled). The first boot up it works fine. It seems that one of the updates must be screwing it up, because after it gets through updating, when it reboots, I can't log in.

Mac wifi signal to iPhone does not work.

When I try to send out a wifi signal from my MacbookAir (connected to internet via ethernet, VPN) to my iPhone I have some difficulties.
The wifi network I created appears under the wifi networks on my phone.
I am able to sucessfully connect to it, and even the icon of 'connected to wifi' shows up.
But yet, I can't access the internet? How is this possible?
Could the VPN network be the problem?
