Serial-to-serial cable. Does it exist?
I would like t interconnect two cisco routers for testing purposes, using their serial ports, but still can not find serial-to-serial cable (60-pins each side).
Should i make such cable by myself? And where can i get pinout for the cable like this?
Thanks!
HI Seri,
You can connect 2 routers via back to back connection using srial ports. Need to have DTE to DCE connection.
Check this link

When I go for Apple support it says my serial number does not exist? But I know it is correct! If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

This one will create the form, database and send out the emails...

I have an invoice that I paid to use photoshop and now it is asking for serial number however it does not show a serial number when I log in
Please then use your web Browser address http://www.adobe.com/ and sign in with your Adobe User ID and Password to your account the has your Subscription and use https://www.adobe.com/account/my-products-services.html capture the page which shows you have a subscription like I showed you I have.
Open Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application use the APP tab and capture that scree to show Photoshop is installed and up to date like I did. Capture that screen. Show us you have installed Photoshop and its up to date.
Open Photoshop and use menu Help it should show tha its activated because there will be a menu item Sign Out. If it is Sign In, Sign in using the account that has the subscription the one you used above to Activate Photoshop. -
Why is there the error "The requested protocol does not exist comm:0" ?
Hi all,
I want to read data from a USB serial port of the mobile phone ( Alcatel OT-806D ). The cable connects the phone and the computer. The system running in the PC is Windows XP. I launch a java j2se program which writes a number to the usb serial port. And in my midlet I run a j2me which will read on the usb port. The problem is that the output displayed in the item on my midlet is "The requested protocol does not exist comm:0". So why there is this error , and how to correct it ?
Thank you very muchonly protocol required to be suppoted by a j2me mobile device is http://: some vendors to implement more protcols like socket:// but this depends on the vendor...

PowerOn Failed Error: Domain Does Not Exist
[Simon Thorpe's blog |http://blogs.oracle.com/simonthorpe/2009/07/migrating_a_vmware_server_2_wi.html] I'm new to OracleVM. The wizard through OVM Manager successfully converted a windows VMWare vm to ovm. I was able to start up the VM once and get the driver updates loaded. I was following Simon Thorpe's blog and other documents to complete this.
Upon reboot, I get the following error:
Start - /OVS/running_pool/ECM_Xmonth_2010_vm
PowerOn Failed : Result - failed:<Exception: return=>failed:<Exception: ['xm', 'create', '/var/ovs/mount/69D37D3828A040A08A7E01E5DE43C1D8/running_pool/ECM_Xmonth_2010_vm/vm.cfg'] => Error: Domain 'ECM_Xmonth_2010_vm' does not exist.

If this is a linux guest, try running xm create -c vm.cfg from the ECM_Xmonth_2010_vm directory to start the guest with the console immediately attached. You may be able to see a boot/GRUB related error. If this is a Windows guest, you could start it paused with xm create -p vm.cfg and then attach a VNC console. Once you have a VNC session, you can resume the guest and it will begin booting. -

Opened a tac and managed to get the resolution of the problem. For those with the same problem reported by me above just follow the procedure below:
1. uninstall existing SRE-V software
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/sre_v/1.5/user/guide/software.html#wp1055364
2. run sm-hw-util to set sata mode to IDE
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/sre_v/1.5/user/guide/software.html#wp1091438
3. configure a static, 32bit route to point the service module IP address to the SM slot/0 interface
ip route 255.255.255.255 SM slot/0
4. install WAAS:

Error is because in target database undo tablespace is UNDOTBS_NEW and in auxiliary database undo tablespace name in init file is UNDOTBS. I followed the meatlink doc 433992.1 which suggest following steps to recover from above error:
1) edit the parameter UNDO_MANAGEMENT to "MANUAL"
2) start database again
3) drop the UNDO tablespace
4) recreate UNDO tablespace which matches to name in init file.
5) shutdown & start DB again.
Now, i edited init file and tried to start DB and got following error:

* Some suggested to check[b] environment variables ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID : my ORACLE_HOME is fine, and i DO NOT have ORACLE_SID on the day i realize the problem.
I am not sure if ORACLE_SID variable is usually exist when my database was up and running. So i set ORACLE_SID yet did not help.
* Some said check if the required services are running :
- OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener : RUNNING
- OracleServiceORCL : RUNNING
* Other said that they have the same problem, but everything back to normal after several hours without anything configured / changed (miraculous)
* I tried to restart or shut down, but no luck
* In the same thread few days ago, Vlado helped me with suggestion to acces ADRCI and type SHOW PROBLEM also SHOW INCIDENT
but the reply is DIA-48494: ADR home is not set, the corresponding operation cannot be done* Other implied to check the .ora files in NETWORK\ADMIN. I will post it (TNSNAMES.ORA, LISTENER.ORA, SQLNET.ORA) after this.
My platform and some info :
* OS : MS Windows Vista Ultimate
* Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1.0.6.0) Enterprise/ Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows 32-bit
Mostly i used SQLplus and SQLdeveloper, for developing procedures/ functions/ packages in Oracle Spatial.
Also, am running it in one laptop (server and client altogether).
There is only one database in the Laptop (no other oracle database).
How to fix this ? Please kindly help me.
Many thanks in advance,
DamonHere are the ORA files :

Error in Transport... Info provider does not exist
Hello,
I'm getting an error 12 and my transport is getting cancelled due to the following message:
Infocube/Infoprovider 100481 does not exist
Error R7 791 when handling objects with type R3TR CUBE.
I tried looking for a solution. I came across this OSS note:1019764
But the solution listed is for 7.0 and i'm on 3.5.
has anyone encountered such an error and if so, what did you do to rectify this problem?
thanks
SamDear Sam,
Your Error suggests that it failed in transporting the Infocube Aggregates, first make sure all your changes are in place , and if you have added some Infoobejcts in the infocube , then before creating the aggregates you have to reload the data as you might have done in the development while activating the aggregates, so if at all you have added / changed the infocube design dont forget to delete data and refill before you want your aggregates to fill in ...if atall you have not done anything of this sort, then the suggestion would be to transport the changes in a serialized way by breaking the changes..
Hope it Helps..
Thanks,
Krish -

Just purchased adope premiere elements 11 and redemption code does not exist
just purchased premiere elements 11 and when trying to get serial number, i am told the redemption code does not exist, its brand new right out of the package. WHY.
Did you try entering the redemption code at http://www.adobe.com/go/getserial/? You can find additional details at Serial number retrieval process FAQ | Point-of-sale activation products - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/serial-number-retrieval-process-faq.html.

New Hard Drive Does not exist!
Hello,
I have an HP DV6 -3142 Laptop and recently after owning it for around a year, my hard drive seems to have crashed. When I try to boot up the laptop, it asks me to use system repair to "repair" my problem or start windows normally. Booting normally causes the laptop to be stuck at windos and revert back to booting up again (it's like a closed loop!). If i choose to "repair" I get stuck at a blue screen where the HP system recovery is supposed to help me either reset to factory settings or do a system restore. I also did a hard disk test in the BIOS and got an error 303. I had done a bit of research and from what i heard, It was a hard drive problem. I got a new hard drive (Samsung) and now when I try to install windows 7, It says that there are no devices to load windows 7 onto. In other words, the Hard disk does not exist (also did a test in bios). I tried to reseat the hard drive and reset BIOS, it didn't work. Now, when I try booting the new hard drive, it shows me a message saying "Media test failure: check cable".
Any ideas on how i could go about fixing this problem?Welcome Larg.
Sorry but it sounds like your new hard drive is DOA.
If you have a SATA to USB I would hook it up to another computer and test it that way.
Or you may try to install it in another computer and see if you can test it that way.
Sorry.

Hi,
I got a new mac book last week. It was able to connect via ethernet and suddendly the ethernet did not work anymore.
I'm writing this with my pc laptop, using the same cable modem, so it's not a cable/modem issue.
I checked all system preferences/network preferences and so on but it does not help.
In network port configurations, my ethernet is greyed out. I cannot make it active and I cannot create new ethernet port.
When I go to the terminal and run a ifconfig en0, I have "en0 does not exist" where as system profiler defines en0 as the built-in ethernet. (no mac address is shown though).
I used the apple hardware test at boot-up. Macaddress of the ethernet is 00:00:00:00:00. Is this normal ?
Any one have any idea ? Is my built-in ethernet broken ? Is it software issue or hardware ?
thanks,
LionelThings to try:
1. Go to Applications / Utilities / Disk Utility and do a Fix permissions. This often cures strange errors.
2. Go to the Control Panel and add a new user. Log in as the new user and try to connect. This may not help, but when I was having trouble with wireless, Apple tech support sugested it. (Didn't help me.)
3. It is a pain in the neck, but try doing an arhcive reinstall of OSX.
4. If you look in the Discussions for Macbook Ethernet port, you'll probably find some articles about blown ports. It sounds like the Macbook Ethernet port may be easier to fry than typical, or there may have been a bad batch of Macbooks.
5. If the Macbook is new, it is worth a shot calling Applecare. It would be cost free other than the time required. One would hope they'd be aware of any common problems with en0.
6. If you are within a reasonable distance of an Apple retail store, take your machine in and let the Genius Bar take a look.
Best wishes resolving the problem.
