Series of slide...varying transitions

I have a number of slides...duration for all slides is 3 seconds...if I highlight (choose) a couple of adjacent slides or a number in a row...go to TRANSITIONS and choose say FLIP...ALL the transitions become FLIP.
IF I choose another subset and say choose PUSH ... then ALL the slide transition with PUSH.
Can't I choose different transitions for subsets of slides!
These photos were dragged into iDVD My Slideshow from a folder...NOT from the PHOTOS choices box on the right.

Cp4: slide shows another slide during transition 'fade'

I'm using Captivate 4, and have created a project with 22 slides. Each slide has a background consisting of a screenshot of an application. No imagelayers on top of that, except for highlights and textboxes. Also, each slide contains audio and a few slides contain Flash video.
Problem: when using the transition option 'fade' from slide 4 to slide 5 (slide 5 - transition 'fade'), another slide shines through some of the white space. The slide that shines through could be three different slides, which all contain the same image.
In other words: when transitioning from slide 4 to 5, slide X (could be three identical slides) shines through the white parts for half a second.
I have tried:
- Creating a new slide within current project, with a new background and copying the highlights etc (same problem)
- Copying all slides to a new project (same problem)
- Adding blank slides before and after the slide that shines through (still slide X shines through)
- Checking for transparency (none)
- Inserting the background as a new png and merging it into the background (same problem)
- Inserting the background as a new png and showing it to the end of the slide wthout fades (same problem)
- Removing the transition altogether (works, but I need the transition!)
I have run out of options. Can anyone help me?

Lets get this clear...
When you set Transition -- it set how the slide will appear ( basically fade-in in your case )
So your 5th slide must have Transition-Fade. Slide background will too fade in for 5th slide.
If you want that your screenshot isnt visible while slide transition you can add them as image-items and make them appear after fade completes.

Slide/Push transition help

I'm working on a video using various slide/push transitions, and what I need help with is creating a way for all the sliding clips move at the same time, as one continuous slide/push similar to this Star Wars parody clip using the "Dallas" theme :

Make CP4 project *not* look like a series of slides

Hi all - this is a rather general question about elearning development with CP4. I've been using CP for several years now but a new client is specifically asking for their project to "not be PowerPointy". In other words, they don't want their project to appear to be a series of slides, the way PPT is laid out. (This is ironic since the source they're providing me with is in PPT.)
Nevertheless, my question to the forum is, what strategies do you use to "dress up" your CP projects and have them appear less like a series of slides?

Slide dissolve transition problem

I am having a problem with my slide show. I made a slideshow in DVDSP with iphoto jpeg photos. I set them to use the dissolve transition. I have my encoding preferences set to two pass 5mps (max 7mps) and built my disk. In the simulator everything looks o.k.
When I play the disk with the apple dvd player the following often happens. The slide will be transitioning to the next slide and once the new slide is fully there you can see in the background the first frame for the following transition. the duration is set to 5sec. So sometimes say when I have a portrait format photo in the black areas to the left and right you can see the first frame of the next transition 5 seconds before it is supposed to start.
Also the quality of the slide pictures seems very poor. Any suggestions for the transitions and quality?

usually I have seen this occur with transitions in simulator and not on the burned disc. You might try creating a track from your slideshow, it should behave pretty much the same, though you'll want to use the slideshow editor first to set up your content, transitions, durations, etc.
You may be able to get better quality transitions by switching the final rendering preference in the menu pane of the preferences. This is described on pg. 115 of the online manual.
If you convert the slideshow to a track, the quality will be affected by the SD encoding settings instead.

Slide show transition in Bridge CS4 not working

Putting together slideshows in Bridge CS4 I can not get the slide transition to work, no matter what timing I set for 'duration.'
I have tried opening it in several different browsers, but no dice. Also my slides are jpgs at 72 dpi - so, rather small.
Any help would be appreciated.

You have to update bridge separately from PSE, and bridge ships with a pretty old version of ACR. Just go to Help>Updates in bridge and it will update itself for you.

Anyone had this problem: slide show transitions aren't dependable

Help! Am I doing something wrong? I applied a dissolve transition to entire 49 pix slideshow...yet only some of the pix dissolve. When I go to the transition tab and preview, they work. Yet when I simulate or play from project, only some of the dissolves appear. All pix are jpegs from the same photog/session. Is this a bug?
should I create the slideshow in Iphoto and just import as a movie?

1. don't trust simulator - check a build in DVD Player
2. you might check individual slides to see if something on that slide is overriding the default transition for the slideshow.

Automatic way to add random slide / bullet transitions?

Hello everyone,
I have tons of old presentations that have bullet points, but no bullet point builds or slide transitions. I have been manually adding the transitions / builds myself slide by slide, but is there a way (or an automator workflow?) that anyone knows of that Keynote can randomly add these? It would be a huge time saver!

randomly? eeew.
You can add builds to a bullet box on the master slides, and then reapply the master slides to your regular slides, that'll give you text builds right away.

Desperate..need help - Anniversary Slide Show - transitions....

Alright I must be an idiot or I'm missing something super simple. I just loaded over 300 pictures into IMovie (I'm using this instead of Iphoto because of it's capability to use sound bytes and multiple songs etc instead of one song over a slide show.) Now that the pictures are finally in order I go to hit play and all it shows is a single "slide" How do I connect all the pictures together so that it will play like a movie? Even editing transitions I find it only previews on the single slide not moving on to the next picture. What am I missing here? Any help would be great before this Sunday.

the 300 clips have to be in the timeline to be part of your movie..
and: when you incidently select one clip, in playback the movie shows only that clip...

Nokia X3 slide (no transition effects)

why does the nokia x3 doesn't have the transition efects settings like the other new nokia phones yeah i know it shows transition but in images only. .so why was that?
do i need to update a new firmware to have this settings?

The X3 is a budget music phone so it may lack features when compared to other models.
Updating the firmware will not change this, it's just the way it is.

Exported presentations to QT, speeds of slides and transitions differ!

Have created a Keynote presentation and exported it to QT movie
The QT file timeline for the slides is halved!
I thought these timings were set in Inspector?
Is there a place I can check presentation timings and how can I fix this problem?

Have made a Keynote presentation with diffferent sound tracks for each slide and it plays just as we want responding interactively changing slides on clicking. After exporting to QT the interactivity is lost. Now the slides stay on screen until each song has played right through. We have tried exporting it as a self playing movie and as an interactive slideshow with the same result. Our objective is to be able to burn the exported QT version onto a CD/DVD which will then operate on any computer in the same interactive manner as the original.
We have also tried exporting as a self playing movie to QT and it still does the same thing i.e each slide stays as long as the sound track eg 3 minutes

Transition for Question Pool Slides

I have a question pool of 20 slides with 5 random slides in the main project.
I have applied "Blinds" as a transition option to all 20 slides in the question pool.
When I test the questions (F8 starting on the slide before the first random question slide), the transitions do not work.
Any idea?

I previewed the whole project (F4) and still the transition did not work.
Having to publish it (eg to .exe I presume you mean) before I can check the slide transition seems a little long winded - but I will give it a go just in case.

Keynote '09: 2 transition effects per slide initiated by 2 hyperlinks?

I want to do a flip book. So far it looks great.
I'm using forward and back hyperlinks to transition b/w slides.
Problem: I can only get one style of transition effects/slide, so when I flip back to a previous slide the flip animation looks like I'm flipping forward.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Which had this part buried in it:
Remove the navigation (rip out the hyperlinks), set the presentation to run as a Normal Presentation, then Share>QuickTime>Fixed Timing. That's right, I said Fixed Timing. Turns out me and a lot of other people (and yes, some tier 1 support folk at Apple) misunderstood Fixed Timing. Fixed Timing lets a Normal presentation run with the audio and moves on to the next slide when the audio is finished - which is exactly what I wanted (the QuickTime controls automatically appear after the movie is rendered). Slide Duration is actually the delay between slides so set this to 1 second and Build Duration affects the timing of the Builds, but I also set this to 1 second since it was destined for web delivery (bandwidth!).
I struck thru the first part b/c that wasn't relevant to my issue, BUT... what WAS relevant was removing all of my carefully timed slide delay transitions, then using the above method. It worked flawlessly, as far as I can tell. It seems without documentation or help of any kind (that I could find) no one, even Apple support staff, knows what the true function of Fixed Timing is supposed to be. So hopefully, if someone else stumbles across this post, they'll be able to do the right thing, from the start and not waste hours with expensive or additional programs and work arounds.
Follow the above method and still get your timed HD quality Quicktime .mov.

Slide Transition

I have recently updated to Keynote 6.2. Using this I have opened a presentation created with an earlier version of Keynote. The first slide transition is supposed to be onclick. However as soon as I run the presentation, the first slide is transitioning to the next slide almost immediately.
I have tried to reset the transition, but to no effect. Anyone any ideas please?

Right, Thanks for that - I was unaware that there was an issue. Of course, having opened the presentation with 6.2, 5.3 wont open it again.
